Good point.

All good -- by let bygones be bygones, I meant that was the Pats' way of saying, 'as if any of this Deflategate baloney is worth the paper it's printed on -- let the league be heroes if that's what they want, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans one way or another'
my sentiments from the getgo.

Yeah, but your sentiments don't count for much. 😛
they seem to matter to you when I'm bumping the Patriots Champions thread.
😛
The only thing that matters is how you like to proclaim yourself as one who takes the moral high ground and then support an organization that seems to get caught cheating. 😛 😛
that's the "only thing that matters"? My morals? Would it be ok for me to support the Patriots if I were immoral?
unreal.

Glass house? Have I been rubbing a championship that my team had to cheat to win in everyone's face?

Yes, when you say this, the old glass house saying absolutely applies: "Your team cheats. They got caught. You support cheating. End of story." Every NFL team has been caught at one time or another. End of story.
As for "my team had to cheat to win", even those who believe that something nefarious happened during the AFC Champ game have said it didn't make a difference, including the Colts and their fans. The Pats would have won playing with beach balls is I think what people were saying.
Sounds to me like you have a classic case of championship envy. 😛

Championship envy. That is hysterical. From a guy who feels the need to brag about something he had nothing to do with 4 months after the event. I hope you realize that when the Cheatriots don't repeat you will have set yourself up for a lot of payback.

Yes, championship envy. It is real. Very real. It is also something that people who have it will never, ever fully admit to, and in some cases may not even realize they have it.
As for payback, there been nothing but payback being thrown my way for 4 months. "Your team cheats." "Tainted championship." "Cheatriots." etc, etc. Sorry for pushing back and not running away or hiding in a hole someplace.

You don't have to run away and hide. Just stop bumping the other thread. It should have died a long time ago.
Championship envy? The baseball team I follow has won 3 of the last 5 World Series. 😛

Girls, girls, put away yer teacups and tiaras. Training camp starts in a month, all this Patsies stuff will be long forgotten. Prepare yourselves for DOOMSDAY and possibly one of the greatest offensive lines ever assembled. The 'Boys are back in town.
COWBOYS!!!!!

By the way, the "other thread" is the official Whipping Post 2014-2015 NFL thread. It had many titles during the season. Only reason it has the title it does now is, well, the Pats won the whole thing. Again. Now its time for the True Champions to re-claim the throne.

No, the official thread has dropped to page 2. Being a Cowboy fan, you probably need help with math. Page 2 is behind page 1. 😛

You are correct sir! But it still doesn't matter, the Patsies days are over. Time for America's Team to return to might and glory.

You mean the team that had two players suspended for cheating for PED use in 2012, and another in 2010? I guess those championship must be tainted, eh? 😮 😛

They admitted their mistake and took their punishment like men. They didn't whine about being falsely accused and misunderstood. But then, Brady seems to whine whenever he gets touched by an opposing player. 😛 😛 😛 😛

You missed the point. They cheated and were punished. I agree with the penalty. I think all cheaters should be punished. And the two guys who cheated are on other teams now. The Cheatriot fans have been whining that the NFL has been targeting them. No way Brady would cheat. Do you see the difference?

Your words, not mine. I don't believe that a fan supporting the team they root for means they support everything that team or its players do. Thus gondi's "glass house" statements. The fan reaction has no bearing on whether or not the team has been found to be cheating. With the patsy fans, there is room for doubt whether or not what was alleged by the league actually occurred.. With the peds, not so much. I would put it to you that peds are a far more serious and insidious form of cheating and have a much greater impact on a player's performance and the outcome of games than letting a little air out of some footballs. Even so, I personally don't have any reason to believe one supports cheating just because the team one roots for may have cheated. See the difference?

No, I don't see the difference. The Giants cheaters were individuals who cheated on their own with no help from the team. When Melky Cabrera was eligible to come back for the postseason, the team refused to activate him. They got rid of the cheaters as soon as possible. Brady cheated with the help of team personnel. When caught all he has done is deny, deny, deny. The owner paid his fine and accepted the loss of draft picks because, according to gondicar, he didn't want to fight the other owners, even though they had no say in any appeal. The Giants accepted their penalty. Brady didn't and, if you believe some people, the owner accepted his, not because his team was wrong, but for the good of the league. Do you think the Patriots will get rid of Brady the way the Giants dumped their cheaters? Of course not. After all, the NFL has it in for one of their most solid franchises. 😛

Have players on the team you support been caught cheating?
Did your team only respond when they were caught?
Do you believe your baseball team steals signs during the game?
Do you still support your team even though they cheat?

the 49ers never dumped Rice...
edited to add...I'm sure Rice had some team personnel help him too. Unless he showed up at games with a bag full of stickum... 😉

You win. The Patriots are the greatest bunch of people ever assembled. Brady did nothing wrong. The NFL should remove all penalties and allow him to make up the rules as he goes along in the game. You guys can continue to brag about something you had nothing to do with and rub everyone's nose in it. After all, what do the rest us know about winning. Bump up your thread everyday and show us how classy and gracious you and piacere are. Have at it. Some day I hope yo attain the superior attitude and smugness that you guys come by naturally.

I would put it to you that peds are a far more serious ind insidious form of cheating and has a much greater impact on a player's performance and the outcome of games than letting a little air out of some footballs. Even so, I personally don't have any reason to believe you support cheating just because the team you root for cheats.
Way to go, now you sound more like a real sports fan, saying what he needs to defend his team! 😛
PS - the Pats are getting their Superbowl XLIX rings on Sunday. You should watch this video, I'm sure you'll love it!! http://www.patriots.com/video/2015/06/11/patriots-receive-super-bowl-rings-sunday

Well then, since we're on the same page now, all is well that ends well. 😛
Being a sports fan is so much fun! No one ever gets works up and is always so positive and happy because after all it is all about fun and good times.
