Yet another grenade toss by Trump to take the media attention away from the Cohen testimony, Kusher security clearance issue, and a whole plethora of other misdeeds Trump and his crime family have and continue to engage in....
Fortunately the federal and state law enforcement apparatus continues to work behind the scenes slowly building the case for arrests, indictments, prosecutions, and hopefully jail time for the countless thieves in Trump's orbit.
What the public needs to do is show up on election day 2020 and get these crooks out of our government thereby allowing for the aforementioned actions to move forward. Anyone who cares about our republic should forget impeachment and spend their time and effort encouraging people to exercise their responsibility of voting.

They first have to have a candidate & so far, the Dems don't see the wisdom of putting all their efforts behind a single winner who has the experience & integrity to LEAD nor does the GOP have the guts to oppose Trump although I'm not sure any of them have a shred of decency after this past week.

Give it time....I'm all for a heated primary with whoever wants the Democratic nomination. The more the merrier I say. Given we have such a lengthy campaign process in this nation, perhaps the Dems. can really energize the independents and moderates in the nation to support whoever gets the nomination.

This is where we disagree & I'm aware I'm in the minority. I personally will not consider anyone until 2020. I consider whatever's going on now to be noise. I think the lengthy process does nothing but turn off voters. They get bored, confused, & the nominee is the one who has enough $$ to outlast the others.
Worse, candidates w/existing positions campaign rather than govern. It seems to elude them if they did a great job governing that they wouldn't have to take every opportunity (such as a public committee hearing) to preach to the choir.
Sorry my response doesn't belong in a topic re Warmbier.

Who knows what really happened there. the facts are President Obamas adminstration abandoned him and he had to do 15 hard year stretch for stealling a banner from a hotel lobby. President Trump got the Norks to transfer him back to the US but he came back in a coma and there was very strong language about this from Trump on this but now we are in a game of diplomacy to get them to do the world a favor and disarm.

1. He was sentenced to 15 years, he didn't "do 15 hard year stretch" whatever that means
2. The "Norks" as you call them contacted the US about sending him back after it was obvious he was in terrible shape
3. trump says he believes kim was unaware even though kim is as hands on in NK as trump was at his company.
4. trump only cares about trump and I suspect all he's looking for is that Nobel Prize. Obama lives rent free in trump's head, just like Hillary does in yours.

That is completely idiotic.

We don't completely disagree as I too wish the election cycle was far shorter in this country. Like for instance a three month process similar to what, I believe, is done in Great Britain. Or am I thinking of France?
However, since our system is so far beyond what I think the founding fathers envisioned and what the election cycle has evolved to all these years later, at least having many candidates in the race MAY lead to some unique and original ideas on how the Dems. can improve the lives of the middle class.
What would be ideal is a far shorter publicly funded process with as many people running as wish for a brief 3-6 month cycle followed by an national holiday election day. I guess I'm saying the more the merrier but for a much shorter cycle and no outside money allowed and easier methods for constituents to actually legally vote.
