So the CPD finally grew a spine & said the next useless debate will be virtual. Given that one debater is being treated for Covid that seems reasonable. But no, Trump isn't going to play because he won't get to do his usual disrupting demands for attention. So, today's excuse is the CPD is protecting Biden. I'm sure he'll have a different one every day. It must be exhausting for journalists to follow his every head-swiveling change on a daily basis.
Wonder who's going to plan much less host the rally he proposes instead since a lot of his staff is wiped out w/Covid.
Historically, I have always looked forward to debates. It was a great time to hear the candidates think on their feet and give answers to questions on issues. Trump is just undebatable. For a debate (a civil discussion, even) you have to allow the other person to speak. I think Trump declining to participate in a format where he can't steamroll his opponent probably speaks negative volumes about him and his (lack of) character. I feel that we've heard enough from him.

At this point, I think Trump knows another debate isn't going to help his cause. He is better off using his time to figure out how to further suppress the vote. His only hope is to try to throw this to the courts and try to get them to decide.

I'm not sure what else she could have done, or Chris Wallace for that matter. The moderator should not be put in the position of repeatedly reprimanding the supposed leaders of the free world like they are school children.
I think a gavel might help. Even "leaders of the world" must be reined in! Mute-able mic's should be required in the future.

Oh but there is more. October 22nd is a debate with Trump and Pence.
But this week coming up on the 15th Biden will do a Town Hall with George Stephanopoulus where questions from people will be answered. I am glad he will actually get a chance to talk. People need to know where he and the party stand on the issues, hopefully this gives them the chance.
As for Trump I still want to know what his plan is for Social Security which he desired to be privatized, and what about the postal service, will that be privatized under a second term, and health care, we need specifics on that and an affordable plan for everybody. The Biden people have several health care initiatives. Let's get down to business!

Makeup artists & hair stylists can do amazing things so I don't put much faith in his appearance. He did seem to be less breathless although his speech was cut from 30 to 15 minutes. We still don't know where he is in the virus or whether he's still on steroids.
I hope the CPD cancels the 10/22 performance as well. Trump's main complaint was that a virtual event would cut his mic - in effect, doing what the moderator should do in a live debate & hasn't w/Trump in 2016 or 2020.

I saw him on camera yesterday, and I noticed his normal orange tint had been replaced with a much more bronze appearance. I'm having a difficult time determining which is a better fit for him.
There should be no more debates. The term debate with Trump is a misnomer. Once you've seen one, you've seen enough for a lifetime. He can bring nothing new to the table. He interrupts and insults. That's all he has as he has no record to run on except failure and lies.

Nope, martin, I'm not even close to your level of optimism - especially given the shrug response (or a favorable take) a kidnapping plot for a sitting governor received. Throw in the answered prayers for a miracle from God to cure Trump of Covid plus a SCOTUS nominee from a far right cult & I believe there's a large segment of voters who think Trump's their hero. I hope you're right & I'm very wrong.
