In all seriousness, what an entertaining game! Congrats to The Eagles and their city. Finally got one. And another good game from New England.

Wonderful day for the NFL.

Hell of a game. Both teams left everything on the table.

Should be interesting to see what happens with Nick Foles, can't imagine Philly will keep a Super Bowl MVP holding a clipboard.

was a great game to watch. what happened to defense i know both teams are strong but what a shambles as far as any defensive presence whatsoever. Giuys seemed to be open all over the place and was not too difficult to run either.

Anyhow, NFL has become a little too much offense, particularly with the top teams. They tend to almost be unstoppable these days.

If Wentz was playing I would like the Eagles chances , but I have a hard time believing Nick Foles can beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl .

And what do you say today?

I wish I could have enjoyed the game but I was sure the pats would find some cheap way to win it.

Colts player Edwin Jackson, Avon man killed by suspected drunken driver on I-70
Justin L. Mack and Emma Kate Fittes, IndyStar Published 10:05 a.m. ET Feb. 4, 2018 | Updated 3:31 p.m. ET Feb. 4, 2018

Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson was one of two people killed early Sunday after being struck by a suspected drunken driver along Interstate 70.

According to the Indiana State Police, the crash happened shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday along the westbound lanes of I-70, just west of Holt Road.

Police said Jackson and 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe of Avon were standing near a stopped vehicle when a black Ford F-150 pickup truck drove onto the emergency shoulder and struck them both.

Investigators believe that Monroe was a ride sharing operator who pulled to the side of the road and got out of the car to assist Jackson, 26, who became ill.

"One of the people struck was thrown into the center lane of I-70," Sgt. John Perrine said in a statement. "Shortly after the crash, and before any 911 calls were received, Trooper Ty Mays was driving through the area and noticed a vehicle in front of him make an evasive maneuver to the left."

Perrine said Mays then spotted the crash along the right side of the road and activated his emergency lights.

"As he slowed to stop for the crash he struck the body of the victim in the center lane," Perrine said in a statement.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 37-year-old Alex Cabrera Gonsales of Indianapolis, tried to flee the scene on foot.

He was apprehended shortly after on the ramp to Holt Road by Mays, police said.

"It is believed Gonsales was intoxicated and was driving without a license," Perrine said in a statement. "He was transported to the Marion County Jail, the result of the test for intoxication is pending."

Jackson, an inside linebacker originally from Atlanta, was signed by the Colts in January 2016 after signing to the practice squad on Dec. 22, 2015. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2017.

Known by the nickname "Pound Cake," Jackson was a high school football star and state-championship-finalist wrestler in Atlanta. He attended Georgia Southern University and joined the football team as a walk on, and he previously played for the Arizona Cardinals.

https://www.wthr.com/article/police-man-that-struck-killed-colts-player-and-another-man-was-in-us-illegally
Police say 37-year-old Orrego-Savala is in the United States illegally and has previously been deported on two occasions, in 2007 and again in 2009.

I did not think he weas still on the team, but I guess he was on IR this season.
I liked him he previous season, he was oneof the young
ones showing potential at LB, which the Colts needs.

it's sad

Thats what I was thinking. Some teams could use a QB, and there will be some money thrown around for him more than likely .

If Wentz was playing I would like the Eagles chances , but I have a hard time believing Nick Foles can beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl .

The Eagles players didn't have a hard time believing it one bit. So many of them insisted they were going to win the SB back in training camp. Reporters laughed them off, but they never cracked a smile when saying it. As a fan, I laughed it off. I knew we were going to be good, but most likely lose in the 1st round of the playoffs with a young 2nd year QB. In the first couple weeks, Dougie P looked like a mini Andy Reid, making Wentz pass the ball over 45 times a game, with only 17 total rushing attempts, most of which came in the 1st half. We were worried. But then we started running the ball, Wentz emerged as the runaway MVP, and we started talking about the SB around week 12. Wentz goes down and the city mourns together. No offsense to Foles, but he just wouldn't be able to lead us the way Carson had. We see Foles win both our playoff games, while dismantling the #1 Minnesota defense like they were nothing. Even after winning the NFC Championship, even after having "the single greates performance ever by a Philadelphia athlete" (as some of our sports reporters argued), we all had doubt that he could do it again in the biggest game...versus the Goliath...the most revered franchise, coach, and QB in NFL history. It was too good to be true. Real life Rocky II, the rematch. Vegas made us the underdogs all postseason. Who will be the last man standing? The only ones who never had any doubt were the players and coaches of that team, who knew there was something special about them back in training camp. I've never been this humbled in my entire life. I just never expected Philadelphia to be so lucky as to find such a high level of character and talent. But it's legit. The Philadelphia Eagles are the gold standard in the NFL. Congratulations to everyone in that locker room who made it happen, and to all the fans who've been waiting their entire lives for this moment. Fly Eagles Fly! E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!

With this SB win its just gonna feed the fire for them.

Well, the football pools are over (actually they've been over for a while......).

Wish we would have had more participation....

Straight up:

1 Sangsters of the Midway 170 170-83
2 DanB 166 166-87
3 neb 151 151-102
4 HAWKS FAN 86 86-165
5 CFLFAN 83 83-168
6 The A 32 32-219

Obviously the bottom 3 dropped out early - but at least I won!

With the Spread:

1 Coot's On The Money Picks 141 141-104
2 Sang 132 132-113
3 neb 126 126-119
4 danb 116 116-128
5 go blue lee 115 115-131
6 HAWKS FAN 71 71-173
7 CFLFANSPREAD 60 60-184

Unfortunately OldCoot won ----- but at least I beat DanB and Neb in both.... Grin

Sang, next year we need to have something riding on it. Then I would probably pay more attention. Bragging rights with several people I don't know just isn't quite the same.

Just a thought.

What do I have to say today , congratulation to the Eagles , great win , I certainly wasn't guaranteeing a Pats win just thought they would .

Only thing that amazed me was how Pats rolled up 506 yards -- they were playing uphill the whole game I thought, but mainly, wow -- all you can do is say watta game Nick Foles & Phila -- he was zipping passes right where they had to be -- Pats D got chewed up throughout, & the bettah team won
thought it was an overthrow to, not a drop by, Brady -- thought it was more uncatchable than catchable, but little mattah anyway, he's still the best ever & watta game, Phila

Hey Brendan Cool
I'm good, thanks. Pretty much done here but I've been in lurk mode past two weeks since Philly won NFC waiting for you to show up. Was going to do my annual trash shtick (glad I didn't). Pats days are numbered, Garapollo trade was a killer. Anyway, hope all's well with you too and congrats my man, that was one great game.

R.I.P. Dwight Clark. Only 61 years old. WAY too young. 🙁

I didn't know he had been sick.
