all of the passes in question were in the vicinity of a Pats receiver and were correctly not called.

as far as the officiating being terrible, I can think of at least 2 games (not involving the pats) where on Monday the league made a statement critical of the refs. One clearly changed the outcome of the game (Detroit vs Seattle).

that said, the Pats got beat, plain and simple.

personally i think Gronk dropped that last long pass, it didn't seem like it was even really reviewed.but anyhow team i picked won.

so Super Bowl
Panthers 45 Broncos 24
or
Panthers 38 Broncos 24

will be something like that 34-20

will be interesting to watch Manning do whatever he can in the 2nd half to win this game....i expect 3 picks in the 2nd half for him.

Wow, you expect something of a shootout. I just can't see Denver's D giving up that many points. Both of your potential options are a lot. Your 45 is right at the over/under for the whole game. 😮

I have seen the line at anywhere from 4 to 6 for Carolina. Guess I would have to give the points but it would be nice to see Peyton ride off into the sunset as a winner. That would be cool.

I'm afraid you might be right, Carolina may just have too much youth and talent. I'd really like it be close in the 4th quarter though, would love to see Manning have a chance to do something special and go out on top. If Wade can come up with some kind of awesome scheme, it could give the ponies a chance.

Donald Trump is rooting for the Broncos because he knows Peyton Manning. There are all sorts of ways to go here. I just can't stop picturing the Trump, Peyton and Trump-buddy Tom Brady bowling together like the guys from The Big Lebowski.

Although I respect Peyton as a great QB, I've had Manning fatigue (both of them) since about 1999 (shill a few more products, why don't you?). I think it would be funny if he loses a 3rd Super Bowl on his way out the door. Kind of a reverse Elway. That, and I hate the Broncos. Also, the Panthers are genuinely fun to watch, Cam is a monster of a QB. I'm hoping the Panthers wipe the floor with the Broncos.

Overrated? His stats so far say otherwise. Dude is a beast.

Disrespect of a game, that always cracks me up.

Plenty of guys dance after plays. Why is he so different?

Dude lives clean, does a ton for charity.

He's had ONE solid year ( this one). Do it a few more years and prove he isnt a fluke ( I think he is)

And the dancing/dab/superman shtick is just too over the top for me

Actually, let's look at the numbers of the two QBs on Sunday....Newton's first five years vs Manning's first five years...

PEYTON MANNING
(First 5 seasons)
Record: 42-38
Post-Season Record: 0-3
Division Championships: 1
Playoff Seasons: 3

Completion Percentage: 62.1%
Yards: 20,618
Touchdowns: 138
Interceptions: 100
Rating: 85.9

Rushing Yards: 556
Rushing Touchdowns: 9

CAM NEWTON
Record: 45-32-1
Post-Season Record: 3-2
Division Championships: 3
Playoff Seasons: 3

Completion Percentage: 59.5%
Yards: 18,263
Touchdowns: 117
Interceptions: 64
Rating: 88.2

Rushing Yards: 3,207
Rushing Touchdowns: 43

Closer than a lot of people expect, in particular the number of interceptions.

I hear ya on the over the top antics...I guess Hines Ward and Antonio Brown were just better dancers, huh? :P;):D

A punk? Really? For what exactly? Because he has fun on the field? It's not like he's beating women in bar bathrooms like Big Ben Rapesberger. If anything Newton has been pretty underrated considering he hasn't been on a very solid team until halfway through 2014. Not every player can be anointed as football royalty like the Mannings were when they entered the league.

I'm rooting for the Panthers. I hope they send Peyton to Papa John's hell. Peyton is part of the price fixing elite of the NFL. Let that bastid eat mud. I hope they break him. May the only pizza he eat in the future come from a straw.

😉

Joe Namath made a career out of one great season and an oversized Super Bowl personality. Different time; different place. But if this is Cam's defining season so be it for us not to be old farts

I hope Newton's antics are not what the future holds for NFL quarterbacks , Tom Brady has four rings and doesn't carry on like that , I can't remember a quarterback ever acting like Newton .

..and a SB title...

This time next week, Cam likely will too.

So the guy dances. Brady screams obscenities on the field and sidelines. Is that any better or worse? Personally, I'll never take exception with someone clearly having fun enjoying the game that he loves. Outside of dancing (are you guys from Elmore City?) the guy is clean as a whistle.

What exactly has Newton ever done that is so egregious? Newton is a class act and clearly enjoys the game. So he dances?

Are you sure you aren't thinking about this guy?

or this guy?

or this guy?

Maybe ask yourself what your problem with Cam Newton is first. Almost everything that has come out of Cam's mouth has been solid, and off the field he's proven he cares about more than just football. Maybe that's just being PR savvy, but with all of the issues surrounding some athletes, it's unfair to give a guy grief for dancing after a TD and enjoying a successful season.

The NFL couldn't seem to get their stories straight about football PSI measurements this week...starting to wonder in our liar-in-chief (muleman) and the NFL's liar-in-chief (Goodell) are one in the same. 😛
