Where to start? Belichick is an ass. Always has been.

I love this. BB is an ass because he puts winning ahead of everything else, including being nice to the media and giving intel to his opponents. Yep, he's an ass alright. He's exactly the kind of ass every other team in the NFL would love to have.

How was Cleveland? 😉

Art Modell was the owner, 'nuff said. It was also his first head coaching gig and he didn't have personnel control. And I think what's he's done since outweighs that stint from 20 years ago.

You can be both a good coach and a less than like able person. His manner of winning comes into question from time to time. I know that you don't care, but that is how others see it. If Belichek was coaching Buffalo I am sure you would not like him at all.

You are probably right. He comes off as an ass, no question. But he's our ass so in the hoodie we trust. 😛 And just for the record, I do know a couple of people that actually know him they tell me his public persona and who he actually is are quite different. I know you don't care, but he is who he is in public and in his pressers because he puts winning above making friends and being nice and I'm ok with that.

I lost a ton of respect for Belichick over the way he handled the situation with Drew Bledsoe. Bledsoe literally died for a few moments in a game and Belichick didn't care one bit. Since Tom Brady became who he became, that got swept aside and now no one cares all these years later, but some also never forget.

Bledsoe's comments after the fact made it pretty clear. I'll believe the guy that had a blood vessel sheared and his chest and then got lied to.

But, hey, it all worked out for the Patriots, so what difference does it make?

Soft? Just from this years out of division schedule, Colts, Redskins and Broncos are all playoff teams if the season ended today

Colts record - 6 and 7, Same for Washington.

Bills 6-7
Miami 5-8
Giants 6-7
Eagles 6-7
Texans 6-7

So far this season Patsies have played 2 games with opponents with better then 500 records.

Playing in the AFC East has been a huge bonus for the hoodie and Donald Trumps buddy.

I actually don't mind his demeanor in the pressors. He's a football coach, his job is to win, he doesn't want to give too much info to the other team, he doesn't like stupid questions. He never says anything bad about another team, in fact the next team they will be playing is always the toughest.

I've been a big fan of his since his days withe the Giants. The reason why the Giants beat the Bills that year was Belichek's game plan (and Norwood missing a 37 yarder). That game plan is now in the Football HoF

The Giants have proven once again they are almost unbeatable for 59:30

it's too bad that football games last 60 minutes

What's the over/under on OBJ fine and suspension? He's an immense talent but his behavior in that game was unacceptable.

The Pats have clinched a week off to start the postseason. Now they just need to secure home field and the table will be set for #5. Cool

I'm not sure which I'm enjoying more...the resurgence of the Chiefs season or the collapse of the Broncos season. Grin

What will Denver do if/when Manning is cleared to play? I think they have to go back to him, don't they?

I'd say so. He runs the offense pretty well. In fact, I hope he's back for Monday night and beats Cinncy. 😉

Pats have signed Stephen Jackson. Probably just bringing some depth/experience to the Pat's depleted RB group, will be surprised if he has a major impact...

According to the data, the Patriots are the most injured team in the league. Based on their record, you'd also have to say they have been the best at dealing with injuries.

Patriots Are NFL’s Most Injured Team In 2015, According To Data
December 23, 2015 3:14 PM

BOSTON (CBS) — If it feels like the Patriots have suffered much more than their fair share of injuries this season, that’s because they have.

According to ManGamesLost.com, the Patriots lead the league, so to speak, in man games lost due to injury this year. That number is a simple tally of the number of games any player has missed due to injury on the year, and on the Patriots, that number adds up to 201.

Of the five teams which have suffered the most injuries, only the Patriots (No. 1) and the Redskins (No. 4) are currently holding playoff positions, with the Patriots of course sitting atop the AFC. The next team on the list currently in playoff position is Houston, with the seventh-most games lost to injury, and then Pittsburgh, with the 11th-most injuries.

The undefeated Carolina Panthers have lost 100 games due to injury, which is the sixth-fewest in the NFL. The Broncos and Bengals, who figure to account for the second and third seeds in the AFC in some order, have been lucky in the injury department overall. The Broncos have lost 80 man games, which is third-fewest, and the Bengals have lost 74 man games, which is second-fewest.

Of course, not all injuries are created equal, as both of those teams have lost their quarterbacks to injury, while the Patriots still safely employ Tom Brady under center. Though the Patriots have been without key contributors like Dion Lewis, Nate Solder, Julian Edelman, Jamie Collins and Dont’a Hightower for varying stretches of time, they’ve had Brady for all 14 games thus far, and they’ve had Gronkowski suit up in 13 games. So long as they remain healthy, it seems as though the team can manage to survive.

The 12-2 Patriots clinched a first-round bye last week, and if they can win one of their next two games, they’ll guarantee themselves the No. 1 seed in the conference.

Last year, when the Patriots won the Super Bowl, they finished in the middle of the pack with the 15th-most man games lost to injury at 178. The 2014 Seahawks were one play away from winning the Super Bowl, despite having the third-most (261) injuries, so reaching the championship certainly remains possible for this year’s battered Patriots.

That's got a lot more to do with the who than the how many. Ask the Baltimore Ravens.

What do Townsend and Daltrey have to do with this?

I don't disagree (and the article points that out as well). So maybe its ironic (or not) that the Pats have been without many of their top players throughout this season, including their top 2 running backs, top 2 linebackers, top 3 receivers, and top 2 safeties and they are still sitting as the #1 seed in the AFC with 2 weeks to go. That's some pretty good resiliency. Losing the starting QB like the Ravens (and Bengals and others) have is on a different level for most teams and would be for the Pats for sure...as evidence by the fact that the only time the Pats have missed the playoffs since 2002 was in 2008, which happens to be the year Brady went down in week 1...and they still went 11-5, so pfffffttt!! 😛

As we approach week 17, which is essentially week 1 of the playoffs for a lot of teams, I got to say it's been a great, entertaining season.

After watching the Panthers rally to take the NFC South and a playoff win last season, I definitely figured the Panthers would have a great season this year, but never figured they would dominate as they have (playing in an underachieving division doesn't hurt). Speaking of that 2014 Wild Card win, it's nice to see The Cardinals reaching their potential with a healthy Carson Palmer (it was painful to see such a talented team crumble as they did with a 4th string QB in the playoffs in 2014). The Cards' defense looks scary good - they destroyed my Packers yesterday. Really looking forward to seeing them battle Seattle in the season finale showdown.

Speaking of the Packers, what a difference a few weeks makes. They will have played 7 games against 2015 playoff teams. Their offensive line looks porous - they allowed 28 points off of an unusual four ugly turn overs yesterday and 8 sacks. They went into the season seemingly stacked at WR (even after Nelson went down), but their passing game seems to get sloppier every week. They can still rally, I really thought the Lions game would be a gut-check season changer for them, but it will be an uphill battle for sure. They play Minnesota for the division, the 3rd straight year they have played for the division title in Week 17.

And then there's the Jets. I don't think there is a more fun team to watch right now. That win against the Pats yesterday was nuts. This is a team that began the season in typical Jets dysfunction - their QB getting punched out in the locker room. Yesterday's win combined with Pittsburgh's loss, the Jets can get into the playoffs not only beating Belicheck's Pats in dramatic fashion in OT, but in a battle against Rex Ryan and the guy who punched out their QB - in the Bills' house no less. Moving divisional battles to the end of the season was one of the smartest things the NFL has ever done - it makes for some great Dec/Jan TV.

The story of the season has to be the AFC West - typically a boring, weak division. KC started 1-5, far behind the Broncos, who started 7-0. Now the Broncos have a QB controversy and KC can win the division (it's possible the Broncos might not even make the playoffs). I haven't seen a KC game since the KC-GB game, but that kind of run is pretty impressive. Teams that get hot in December typically do the most damage in the playoffs (see 2007 & 2011 Giants, 2009 Cardinals, 2010 Packers, 2013 Seahawks, etc).

It really looks like it's anyone's game in the NFC - even though the Panthers have the better record, the Cardinals and Seahawks appear to be the teams to beat. The Panthers' have definitely benefited from playing in a weak division and against 2 other weak divisions (the NFC East and AFC South). They will finish the season having played only 3 playoffs teams, 2 of which are by far the weakest (the Redskins and the AFC South winner).

The Patriots still stand out as the top dog in the AFC. Other than the Broncos, Steelers, and Bengals, the other likely AFC playoff teams are all pretty fresh faces - The Jets, Chiefs, AFC South Winner (Texans likely). The Broncos have a huge question mark at QB. The Steelers might not make it in. The Bengals can't seem to win a playoff game. It's New England's to lose, and it seems like every other year some team punches them in the face unexpectedly.

Colts have lost a 3rd QB.....Whitehurst is on IR.

Grigson will be fired. someone has to take responsibility for that offensive line. i think there has been a QB injury in at least 7 or 8 games for the Colts. Luck twice, Hasselback every game maybe and Whitehurst....so maybe 9 games. Pagano will be gone regardless.

Grigson needs to go. He has had some decent moves, but more misses than hits when it came to the "crucial areas" which obviously should have been addressed. I like Chuck, but he will be gone too. They are wasting Andrew Luck. This is not a one year fix for this team. He has covered up alot of ugly areas with his play his first three years.

We will know next Monday about this time if Grigson and Pagona still have jobs here in town I beleive.

what do you think of this jsz?

manning comes back to indy next year to back up luck and be a qb coach. retire at some point and become offensive coordinator and then finally head coach over say a 7-10 yr time frame?
