Republicans have been more active and engaged lately, which leads to better voter turnout - more power to them - they earned it. But I don't see it as some battle with winners and losers like you do. I believe its a natural cycle of ups and downs for both sides. But to you, it means something much deeper and darker. Says more about you than anything else. The special election was held because Ryan Zinke, a Republican, was tapped by Donald Trump to be Secretary of the Interior. Millionaire transplant Gianforte (who lost the 2016 Montana Gubernatorial race to Democrat incumbent, Steve Bullock) was presumed to easily win the race. No one paid it any attention until Gianforte sh1t his pants and "body slammed" a reporter.
However, since the incident was the night before the election, many ballots had already been submitted, and Democratic candidate and country singer, Rob Quist lost the general election to Gianforte, 50% to 44% (with Libertarian Mark Wicks receiving 6%). This result was the highest percentage of the vote for a Democrat in a Montana house race in the past four election cycles.
But you go ahead and do your victory lap and body slam some folks along the way.
