Montana US House Election - Greg Gianforte assaults reporter

This election is today. As I'm sure everyone heard this happened last night.
If he wins he should immediately resign.

Fox News reporters in the room at the time, their account:

30% of mail in votes have already been made. if he thought that was rough, wait till he gets to washington.

I'm not so sure this is a big deal. I mean really, the guy owns $242,900 in Russian index funds and the guy has a net worth of $65-315 million! I would suspect he has similar index funds in a variety of foreign countries, you'd really have to know the entire portfolio to get perspective. And the article states that owning shares of a mutual fund or index funds are excluded from sanctions considerations. Also, with paper investments like this you can do a blind trust as many politicians do. I mean, this is much less of a concern than Trump's business interests. I mean, it's an index fund! Let's see what other index funds he might have of other foreign nations before we label him a commie!

Trump created a culture of false accusations and real hatred towards the press during his campaign. He made the press his personal enemies as a means to amp his cult. His soldiers fell in line behind him, and this thug in Montana feels he has authority to slam a reporter. The the guy's staff puts out false info as to what occurred. The irony is that 3 FOX staff members who witnessed the event disputed the GOP candidate's version of the story (lies) and backed up the narrative of the Dem.
Shame on the American voters for putting up with thugs like the guy in the WH and this buffalo in Montana. You get what you vote for.

But he noted that it did raise some concerns from “a Russia policy perspective” as a conflict of interest because “betting on Russia’s economy is problematic”.
but i agree nebish. but the guy, no matter what is written about him, can't react in the way he did because of press he doesn't like.

Yeah I never heard of this guy until last night, as much of a news junkie I am at times I probably should've. But I know all I need to know about him from last night, dude is an asshole.
Trump has fanned the flames Martin, but I place all the blame the individuals who act out in ways like this guy did.

Any video on this?

Any video on this?
No video, but the audio backs up the reporter.

If this guy doesn't like getting cameras and microphones shoved in his face, Washington D. C. is a place he should not go to.

Any video on this?
There is audio, it is pretty telling.
I might know what you are getting at. There is no excuse. The reporter may've come into a private room he was not invited into. The reporter may've been trying to get a 'gotcha' moment on tape. That doesn't matter.
I mean the reporter totally sounds like Milton from office space saying quietly "the cake to people ratio..." "but there won't be time" and slam!
There are times in life that physical aggression towards others may be called for, this is not one of them.

actually the FOX news reporter backs it up and adds that he started punching him. now from what i've read, FOX national network, isn't using her eye witness account.

Trump = gasoline
Gianforte = matches

SON HOUSE - GRINNIN' IN YOUR FACE

Party politics - the a$$hole wins. If it's leaked e-mails or a body-slammin' congressman - their supporters just don't care.

I saw several interviews with GOP senators and house members yesterday from DC, and most either didn't want to discuss, or they gave the guy a pass. They want his vote more than they care about his decency or character as a human being. It doesn't say much positive about them either. Follow the Trump doctrine.

This should surprise no one - King Trump's favorite media source and only non-fake news channel, FOX.
Fox News Had The Best Reporting On Journalist Attack, But Its Top Hosts Ignored It

I'm not 100%, but I thought I saw a guest host on Hannity last night. But still...
Gianforte should resign - certainly appears he isn't going to do that.
So the only thing I can figure is he should give Ben Jacobs the most preferred treatment and access during the time Gianforte spends in Washington, that probably won't happen either.

And the citizens of Montana reward Greg Gianforte with election to The House of Representatives.
The media tried to portray Gianforte as President Trump and got embarrassed yet again. The corrupt liberal media has been asking for a beating and got one.
The far-left extremists and the corrupt liberal media were rejected by The People.
The People are tired of the left who have nothing to offer our country and actively work against it as much as they are tired of the arrogant elitist liberal media who misrepresent the news and flat out lie.

Should this incident open a discussion on the matter of advance voting?
Haven't really thought about it deeply enough to reach a conclusion, but what if something significant happens with a candidate within the window of an advance voting period? Should a vote cast be ironclad? Interesting to muse over.
You could try and determine how many people might want to change their vote, but, that's practically impossible to measure.
The other element that's worth a look in this particular situation is that people on both the Red and Blue Teams seemingly want more reporters to do their jobs in a more traditionally journalistic way. Asking questions of public officials is a part of that wish.
Running the crime of assault through the filter of which team you root for before you reach a conclusion on how you feel about it should give anyone pause. Dangerous road, this.

This applies equally to both major parties. Hillary's "e-mail scandal" didn't cost her a single vote. Gianforte's assault (why and how is this only a misdemeanor?) didn't dissuade a single voter. As a society we vote for dogma and creed over quality. It sucks.

If reports are right, though, nearly 70% of Montanans advance voted, and he assaulted the reporter the night before an election that he most likely had already won.
Your point still stands, however.

I don't disagree here, but to me the concern is of violence that this jerk from Montana exhibited as well as Trump's amping up crowds with talk of hatred towards the media. Also there were enough scenes of violence at Trump rallies where Trump edged people on, people got slugged, and Russian Donald even suggested he might pay for court cases for people.

1.) “hatred towards the media”
- The corrupt liberal media deserve exactly what they got. The constant misrepresentation of the news, reports dripping with opinion and no facts and out right lying have earned them an approval rating of about 19%
- Harvard study: Media has been largely negative on Trump: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/kass/ct-trump-media-coverage-harvard-kass-0521-20170519-column.html
2.) “scenes of violence at Trump rallies where Trump edged people on”
- Almost all the violence during the campaign was by left-wing extremists, many of them paid and was done outside of the rallies.
You should try something new and get informed. The American People know better and are rejecting the Democrats at every level of government and detest the corrupt liberal media.
Aren't you tired of losing yet?

The truth can be boring yet it is still the truth.

No, he meant your style of writing is boring, and your personality and intellect. Thank God schools are now incorporating curriculums that teach students how to decipher factual reporting versus bias. As we can all see here, Mule believes his perception is an absolute truth, and sees America as two sides fighting against each other for some trophy he imagines in his head. Lord only knows why his mind is in constant competiton. Sad.

Fact: the Democrats lost another election.
Fact: The American People, supported by the Harvard study are well aware of the corrupt liberal media and reject the misreporting and flat out lying by the left-wing press.
Fact: by far The American People regard CNN as the leading fake news organization.
Fact: you are so intellectually dishonest you are simply unable to face the facts.
Oh yea, did I mention the Democrats lost another election?
The American People have chosen the Republicans to run The Senate, The House, a clear majority of State Governors and State Legislatures and their President.
No "perception" just the facts.

Nothing funnier than watching a Trump supporter preface a subjective statement with a "fact" label. I love exposing the stupidity of the common Trump supporter. FACT: Godfather is the best movie ever made!!! LOL. Keep talking, please.

But Mule, Colbert is #1. Smoking gun proof, right? LOL!!!
