When my eye doctor told me pot was an effective pain killer, that was good enough for me. Cheers!

It’s well on its way to being legalized nationwide and long overdue. It sucks for people like me in NJ with no way to get the legit safe vape carts unless we have a medical card which seems near impossible to get. Even the flower is tough to find around these parts.

Come on up to lovely Massachusetts for the fall colors and hit one on the dispenseries here and buy some.

More are opening every few monthes so there are more options. I live it the stocks and will have 3 within a 15 minute drive of me when the 3rd opens soon.

While there appears to be a thawing of the federal prohibition on cannabis (specifically the bi-partisan passage of legislation in the House to ease and reform the federal banking laws as they relate to cannabis businesses), there is still a long way to go before cannabis is re-scheduled at the federal level.

Recent developments are encouraging for sure but don't think for a minute that the powers and special interests that want either the status quo or want to CONTROL how reform is finalized are sitting on their hands.

What is important to watch is how the hedge funds and corporate entities try to corner the market and take away what may be the rights of small businesses and individuals to cultivate, grow, and possibly sell cannabis. Watch carefully as the devil is in the details. The last thing we need is a corporate gatekeeper instead of the current government gatekeeper.....Don't let corporations control cannabis reform!

What’s the risk in driving across state lines with it nowadays?

Zero. The MA state cops provide traffic control and could care less if you aren't a local. Also the misconception is a dispensary is a free for all but it's highly regulated. You are only allowed 3.5 g of flower on one visit. You are not leaving with a lb of sunshine.

I am all for the legalization of MJ for medical reasons all through the Federal level.
I do have some concerns about the one big thing here.
MJ is still an illegal drug as far as the Feds are concerned.
I hope that the following does not happen.

A few years from now a President finds that there isn't enough money to pay out what he promised to get elected, and really needs the support from those who would be shorted out on what was promised.
In other words, there is a big need for money in the government coffers.
The President remembers; Damn, marijuana might be legal at some state levels, but it's still illegal by Fed law.
We could seize the property of the pot growers, take away their business, home, car, guns, equipment and sell it at auction to raise a few bucks.
That might not be enough. I know, let's seize the tax monies, plus interest and fines, from the states that legalized the sale in their states. Then go after the legislators for passing laws against the treaties we made years ago.
That still might not be enough. I've got it!! We'll go through the records of the stores/clinics and arrest those who bought their weed there, AND go after the doctors that prescribed it to them.
We'll draw in BILLIONS. Wa-ha-ha-ha!!

Like I said, I don't want or hope for this to happen, but as long as it's illegal at the fed level, it could happen.

The purchase limit you mentioned is not true. I bought 7 grams, two 3,5 containers, last March at a dispensary when it was one of only two dispensaries licensed at that point.

They limited the amount you could buy due to the high demand and a limited supply at the time. Back then there were long lines due to the lack of dispensaries but now there are a fair number and you can now walk up to buy as there are no more lines at least the ones near where I live.

I don't smoke often so I have not bought in a while so I am not sure if the dispensaries are still limiting the amount you can buy but the legal state limit recreational users can purchase is 1 ounce per visit. Recreational users can legally keep up to 10 ounces at home and carry 1 ounce on their person. When driving it must be in a locked glove box, in the trunk or in the cargo area of an SUV.

Sure the legal ganja is expensive but it is legal and you know exactly what you are buying as it is tested for quality and potency.
