Hmmm...thought you could prevent crime by carrying a gun?......you just can't make this stuff up......

Fire away gun totters...ohhh bad pun

Man exercising open carry right is robbed of his own firearm at gunpoint

A Gresham, Oregon, man who had just purchased a handgun was robbed of the firearm while practicing his open carry right, KOIN 6 reports.

William Coleman III was standing outside just after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, talking to his cousin and displaying the Walther-brand P22 handgun he had bought earlier that day. A young man approached the pair, asked about Coleman's gun, then pulled his own firearm out and pointed it at Coleman, saying, "I like your gun. Give it to me."

Coleman handed over the weapon, and the robber fled the scene. Police are investigating the crime. - - Sarah Eberspacher

I'm not anti-gun

I'm anti be scared of the world and think a gun is going to change that.

Most gun owners are honest people....they don't think like criminals...they think like good people

Criminals take advantage of that and use it against us. Just because you are armed doesn't mean the criminal isn't going to know you don't think like he/she does....you aren't looking for a problem so the element of surprise takes away your chance to really use the weapon...as in this story.

There was a time in the history of this country where we did open carry and somewhere along the timeline society knew is was a better way to live when we didn't. So to go back and rediscover why we made the change in the first place is ludicrous....it's real easy....too many innocent people were killed...really it's that simple

being afraid and having a gun is just a false sense of safety

Kind like getting one of those club things for your car ... only to have somebody break into your car and steal it!
