Kennedy vs Obama

Caution: CONTAINS OPINION
A comparison/contrast piece comparing the two men with regard to arms treaty negotiations..

JFK served in the military, posed the phrase, "ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country" ... and he boned Marilyn Monroe! 😛 😉

JFK projected the right image for a President. He didn't whine, point fingers, and blame everything on his predecessor.

Not sure why you and Mule are so obsessed with hating Obama at this point as he is gone in about a year and a half.
Seems you should be focusing your hate on his successor, Hillary Clinton, to get a head start on the hating.
Or better yet why not hate on Bush as he is the one who created the current mess Obama is still working on to clean up?

1. Easy. He's the worst President of my lifetime, hands down.
2. Hillary has more to worry about than a couple of guys on a music website.
3. You sound like poor Obama himself with that statement. He's leaving the next one with a big mess, but I doubt they'll whine about it like Obama has.

1. Well Alloak I think you are a reasonably smart guy but Presidential scholar's disagree with you on as Bush Jr.s is taking up the rear on just about every "best Presidents" list while Obama is about middle of the pack. So I would say he is doing a decent job considering what he was handed.
2. Innocent until proven guilty my friend
3. You are of course exaggerating about Obama but I would not blame the guy considering what a mess he was handed
But for your reading pleasure here is a list of accomplishments

He is intent on doing as much damage as possible until the day he leaves and to have it survive his departure so therefore it is appropriate to criticize him. And I guess the Bush excuse will survive forever or at least until the next Republican comes in.

Don't you at least think it's a tab bit disingenuous, though, that on one hand, it's perfectly reasonable and acceptable to refer to a past President (in this case, Kennedy) as a means of comparison which concludes as a derision and criticism of a current President...yet, if one refers to a different past President, that's somehow off limits?
You refer to Bush as merely an "excuse." If say, next November a Republican wins, will you have equal scorn for that President or any other politician that will take the tack of fixing all the damage Obama left behind? We all know that would happen. You just intimated that Obama is doing as "much damage as possible." Can you expound?
The extreme polarization cycle feeds itself. A whole bunch of people are wondering when the other bunch of people are going to blame Obama for something. In return, that bunch of people are still wondering when the first bunch will ever blame Bush for, well, anything.

Here's a promise, and I'm being sincere...
If a Republican wins this election and spends his time blaming everything on Obama, constantly whines, talks down the USA, passes the buck, points fingers, makes excuses, chronically lies, blames everything on Democrats, bows to dictators, turns Americans against one another, complains about the media, complains about much of anything really.....I'll be all over him/her like a rash or a cheap suit or whatever adjective you choose.
I'll criticize him/her relentlessly on this forum. That's a promise.

Alloak, what you are forgetting is that this is all about perception. Your litany of Obama's faults are just a perception, just like a liberal's litany of faults for Bush. Point being, that not matter how much a Republican complains, divides, blames others, etc, you will not see it as such, but instead see it in a positive light, the way I interpret Obama. Such is life. The entire Republican Party blames Obama everyday for everything, shut down the government over it, but you didn't criticize it. Every republican politician bashes Obama everyday. You will only criticize it if it comes to the Presidency? Why? Shouldn't congress and senate be held to the same standards? All politicians are guilty of all of those faults you list.

Yeah, whatever.

JFK projected the right image for a President. He didn't whine, point fingers, and blame everything on his predecessor.
Of course Eisenhower didn't leave the country in shambles like Bush did.

Even liberals don't accuse Bush of intentionally causing damage to the country. That's quite an accusation.

If he had, do you honestly believe JFK would have spent year after year whining about Eisenhower? Anything is possible, but I seriously doubt it.

I can't actually remember the last time Obama even mentioned Bush, and I can't ever remember hearing him whine about Bush. But maybe you listen to Obama more than I do.

We all know alloak's obsession with Obama and Hillary. It's pretty obvious. I'm wondering if it's a love / hate thing? 😛

Obama has been the President for the past seven years and Hillary is a candidate to replace him. We shouldn't talk about them? If you were to pay attention, you would find that an awful lot of people have the same "obsession" that I do.

No. Why should they? There is only one President and he supposed to be the leader. One hopes that whoever occupies that slot exhibits leadership qualities, and Obama does not.
FWIW, I strongly disagree with your statement, "Every Republican bashes Obama every day." All in all. criticism of Obama has been pretty tepid in comparison to other Presidents due to the simple fact that people don't like to be called racists.

Interesting because I tried to find quotes of Obama complaining about Bush and not much came up. You would think if he complained as much as you claim there would be tons of quotes when Goggled but I could not find much.
I did find plenty of GOP quotes whining about Obama though. Including Bush attacking Obama recently. Gofigure

To be completely fair, Eisenhower - and the America of the time came about after the United States had pretty much flexed its military muscles and might. We'd not too long ago neutralized Japan via the atom bomb. We allied with European nations to squash Hitler and fascism. The end result was the golden age of American economics. Booms in manufacturing (and manufacturing jobs), housing construction, etc. There was a chicken in every pot and a new Ford in every driveway.
It seems that every president and administration finds its own bogeyman. For Kennedy, it was the cold war threat with Khrushchev, the Cuban Missile Crisis, etc.
I'n not defending or prosecuting anybody here. Just reminding folks that although Eisenhower didn't leave behind a mess for his successor, the "good ol' days" were paid for with a price that did include war and the use of heavy weaponry - something we all tend to frown upon in modern times.

Oh please. He spent at least four years playing the blame game. Are you serious? If you don't trust your own ears, try googling Obama blame game. Leaders simply don't do this. Albeit he might not have called out Bush by name, but said "they." What's the difference? You couldn't deduce that he meant the Bush Administration? C'mon.

Please provide some of these quotes and the context which they were used in. Thanks in advance.

Forgive me for using another sports parallel, but I saw a few coaches like that in my day. Nothing but excuses, bellyaching, and blame. It was always something: the weather, injuries, bad bounce, bad calls, too windy, the field sucked, something. Invariably that coach was losing more games that he won and Obama is a loser.

No need to be shy & minimize your efforts. Wear your badge and be proud. "Talking about" and "obsessing" are entirely different concepts. The only one that can come close to rivaling your obsession would be muleboy. For that you can both share the crown of queens of obsession.

Recognizing the complete failure of Obama and his administration is not an obsession, it is a statement of fact.
Much of Kennedy’s favorability came from his celebrity. Obama has only that to keep the smile on his face.

I think you exaggerate but no surprise considering your hate for Obama.
I am also sure I could find 10X the amount of GOP blaming Obama for everything they feel is wrong in this country as any complaining Obama did about the Bush Administration so let's not be hypocritical here.

Hate to break this to you, but turn on a radio or a television set and you will find both Hillary and Barack are frequent points of discussion, or obsession. Take your pick.

1. No exaggeration necessary.
2. So what? Even if that was true there is only one President. He is the leader and is expected to exhibit leadership qualities. Continuing a false equivalence between the entire GOP and the President is nothing more than a repeat of the same weak argument.

1. Then produce a list of these quotes. All it would take is a simple Google search. Otherwise, BG is right on the money.
2. How is that a "false equivalence". Aren't the GOP people trying to prove that they deserve the White House? How is acting like the person you complain about worthy of attaining the presidency?
