1. Well Alloak I think you are a reasonably smart guy but Presidential scholar's disagree with you on as Bush Jr.s is taking up the rear on just about every "best Presidents" list while Obama is about middle of the pack. So I would say he is doing a decent job considering what he was handed.

Don't you at least think it's a tab bit disingenuous, though, that on one hand, it's perfectly reasonable and acceptable to refer to a past President (in this case, Kennedy) as a means of comparison which concludes as a derision and criticism of a current President...yet, if one refers to a different past President, that's somehow off limits?

You refer to Bush as merely an "excuse." If say, next November a Republican wins, will you have equal scorn for that President or any other politician that will take the tack of fixing all the damage Obama left behind? We all know that would happen. You just intimated that Obama is doing as "much damage as possible." Can you expound?

To be completely fair, Eisenhower - and the America of the time came about after the United States had pretty much flexed its military muscles and might. We'd not too long ago neutralized Japan via the atom bomb. We allied with European nations to squash Hitler and fascism. The end result was the golden age of American economics. Booms in manufacturing (and manufacturing jobs), housing construction, etc. There was a chicken in every pot and a new Ford in every driveway.

It seems that every president and administration finds its own bogeyman. For Kennedy, it was the cold war threat with Khrushchev, the Cuban Missile Crisis, etc.

I'n not defending or prosecuting anybody here. Just reminding folks that although Eisenhower didn't leave behind a mess for his successor, the "good ol' days" were paid for with a price that did include war and the use of heavy weaponry - something we all tend to frown upon in modern times.

Forgive me for using another sports parallel, but I saw a few coaches like that in my day. Nothing but excuses, bellyaching, and blame. It was always something: the weather, injuries, bad bounce, bad calls, too windy, the field sucked, something. Invariably that coach was losing more games that he won and Obama is a loser.
