Justice Department changes its position in high-profile Texas voter-ID case

Rather than backing up Trump's empty claim that millions of people voted illegally, the administration is finding ways to promote state's stringent voter regulations.

Every citizen should be able to vote as easily as possible. Strict voter ID regulations are a straw man since voter fraud is not a common crime. The regulations only silence voters. According to the article:

"A federal court in Texas found that 608,470 registered voters did not have the IDs the state required for voting."

In Florida, I know people first hand who were turned away from the polls even though they had IDs that were on the approved list but for arbitrary reasons that were not cited, were not accepted. In WI, a 90 year old veteran had to be driven to the DMV by a poll worker because he no longer had a drivers license. This is attempting to solve a problem that isn't there, and only creates a larger problem.
