I do not "identify" as either Republican or Democrat. I am certainly more of a liberal than a conservative. I do not vote along any party lines.

A lot of people have strong, central ideas and issues ranging from abortion on demand to firearms with lax regulation (another point for another thread).

At present, in 20% of the American states you can walk into a dispensary and purchase legally something that can still get you locked up in the rest of our country. This is tantamount to denying civil rights to a large portion of our population.

To me, electing a Democrat who is anti-cannabis would be like buying a yacht missing most of the hull. It makes no sense and it just won't float.

Me voting for Trump ... seems like something out of a sci-fi movie. But if the Democratic challenger will not voice strong support for legalization ... and Trump does ... I might have to sell a little bit of my soul.

Every administration (save Carter) has led us into war or worse. Our government is going to do and carry out some pretty bad stuff no matter who is at the helm.

The big issues aren't single issues. Cannabis legalization reaches into so many areas, economic, ecological, medical, it is a tectonic paradigm shift. Support for legalizing cannabis would go a long way toward showing me that a public official is indeed somewhat independent - as honestly I think it is impossible for them to go against GloboCorp.

Abortion is another one - it is a cornerstone of women's rights, another game changer, a very threatening shift to the power structure.
