Subway Jared Allegedly Ran Porn Lending Library Out of His College Dorm

Many of us suffered a devastating blow this morning when we learned that beloved sandwich savant and Subway black card holder Jared Fogle had his home raided as part of a child porn investigation. Apparently, however, this news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise: Back in college, Jared’s original claim to fame was loaning his classmates all the porn they could handle.
According to a Best Week Ever exclusive from back in 2007, while at Indiana University, Jared ran a black market pornography rental service straight out of his dorm room. From Best Week Ever:
His porn collection was vast and extensive, and Fogle took his business pretty seriously. A video would run a patron a dollar a day (cheap!), and people would come from all over to take advantage of the deal. Needless to say, Jared had enough porn to keep his customers happy.
It only gets darker from there. The reason Jared started chowing down on Subway sandwiches in the first place was because the chain had opened up a store on the first floor of his college dorm. And since his “job” (read: dealing out porn to his friends for free) was just a closet away from his bed, “Jared began eating the sandwiches out of extreme laziness.”
A fact that makes all those Subway commercials—to say nothing of our hearts and souls—just a little bit darker.

Jared Fogle expected to plead guilty to child porn charges, sources say

(CNN)Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is expected to plead guilty to charges related to possession of child pornography, two law enforcement officials told CNN on Tuesday.
The sandwich chain suspended its relationship with Fogle earlier this year after investigators raided his Indiana home.

The raid came more than two months after Russell C. Taylor, the executive director of the Jared Foundation, was arrested in Indianapolis on federal child pornography charges.
Contacted Tuesday by CNN, Taylor's attorney declined to comment on the development. Attempts to contact Fogle's attorney were not immediately successful.
Subway tweeted that it no longer has a relationship with Fogle.
Fogle became famous in 2000 when the sandwich chain released a commercial centered on his claims that he dropped about 245 pounds -- from a peak weight of 425 -- in one year as an Indiana University student, thanks in part to exercise and a simpler diet involving Subway subs.

Jared Fogle expected to plead guilty on child porn charges
Former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle's wife is filing for divorce.
Katie Fogle told TMZ, "I am in the process of seeking a dissolution of the marriage. The focus is exclusively on the well-being of my children."
She added she was "shocked and disappointed" by the news of her husband's arrest on child pornography charges and said "neither I nor my family will have any further comment on the matter."
Fogle was previously married to Elizabeth Christie from 2001 to 2007. He began dating Katie McLaughlin in 2009 and the pair married in 2010.
Federal prosecutors say Fogle has agreed to plead guilty to engaging in a sex act with a minor and receiving child pornography, the AP reports.
