Sounds like a tax problem if he didn't claim that payment a gift, I've never seen the itemization for porn star hush-money, Cohen just signaled the IRS for an audit.

It's indicative how morally lacking this president is when he had an extramarital affair with a porn star, basically during his honeymoon period with his new wife, then pays her off during the campaign in 2016, and all anyone cares about is where the payoff money came from.

Everyone but Melania that is.

I wonder if Melania started threatening divorce if they would pay her off too.

For goob - Can you believe this? Time for a Hillary Clinton diversion into Benghazi or Uranium?

Interesting - Stormy has now said that this has invalidated their agreement and now she is free to talk about her sexual relationship with Trump.

I honestly don't care about the affair, as I couldn't possibly think less of Trump’s moral character than I already do already, but it will be fun to see all the christian conservatives, formerly known as the moral majority, make excuses for him.

I doubt you'll see any reaction. They've already given him a mulligan. They care about one thing and one thing only - putting anti choice justices on the Supreme Court. Anything else they turn their heads the other way. They're all a bunch of disgusting hypocrites.

How do you know which one of them (the lawyer or the Prez) had their hands in her cookie jar? Just sayin'.. I know it looks like the Donald was guilty and the lawyer paid her off to keep her mouth shut, but there are several possibilities.

1) The Donald did it and the lawyer paid her off so as not to upset the campaign.

2) The Donald DID NOT do it, but they were worried the woman might mouth off and make people believe that he did do it with her, so damage control went info effect.

3) The lawyer was the one doing her, but when she saw that Donald was running for President, and since he was the lawyer she saw potential for Big money, and he knew he'd have to cover it all up so that nobody got exposed.

4) Neither one of them had sex with her, and Donald just wanted to help her pay some bills because he is a generous, benevolent man that helps out people in distress. Seriously he has done this for people. I said earlier she may have needed money for medical bills, a family member or whatever, and he just wanted to help out with out a media circus occurring. This is POSSIBLE.

Gina,

It's Valentines Day; not April Fools Day. You are actually presenting those scenarios as a joke, right?

I'm going to go with #4 because Donald is a compassionate man & altruistic. Can't find an individual with better values & character. If you don't believe me, then just ask Mike Pence.

I'm just saying they are possibilities, the whole thing makes him look guilty, but just because someone looks guilty does not mean that they are. Celebrities pay people off all the time because it is easier than having bad media attention, investigations etc. Look at what Clinton went thru with Monica; now in that instance he was guilty, but it was such a circus over that it was off the charts.

Would the public have been able to accept it if he just said at the beginning of it, look I did it, I'm sorry, I won't do it again, I did not spill any national security secrets okay? No he had to try to hide it and go thru so much because of an indiscretion that should not have happened but did. I think it should have just been between him and the woman, his dick is HIS business, not everybody elses. He was probably doing it after his regular business day, so he wasn't doing it on taxpayer time.

Gina - How many celebrities do you personally know? Of these, how many do you factually know have paid off someone to avoid media attention? If the answer is "none", then you are clearly speculating or throwing theories.

Mulligan!

You know who didn't need mulligans was Obama....

That's because he had to walk a straight line and be a good guy since Trump exposed Obama as not having a legit brith ctf. He could have been deported at any point in time. Just lucky Obama made it through 8 years. When Trump's investigators down in Hawaii release the findings, hang on for deportation hearings.

Now that is interesting, exactly when does the President punch in and out on a day's work?

The President is always on the clock, but they have to live their personal lives. Their relationships and sexual desires do not need to end when they take the oath.

Clinton and Trump are womanizers. Bush and Obama are monogamous (I assume). Neither really matters to me. Their personal choices are their own, good, bad or otherwise.

Trump spends as much of his time as possible & taxpayer money generating family money at Mar A Lago. He also spends a significant amount of time daily getting his talking points & policy from the FOX gang each A.M. And who said FOX's Steve Doocy wasn't a policy wonk?

That and he's also lying through his teeth covering up for the president.

I really feel for Baron Trump. His father sleeps with women other than his mother and it's all over the media. It's sad for a young child who has to deal with betrayal within his own family.

Martin, feel free to quote anything I say ofcourse, but for the full context I was talking about the sexual wants and needs the President has that we all have. There is what most would consider a "right" way and a "wrong" way to seek and fulfill those desires - but each person makes their own decisions and deals with the personal fallout from it.

Strat mentions Baron, and yes, if my father was in the news about doing these things against my Mom, I can only imagine the kind of feelings I might feel.

You know, on one hand, hey doing a porn star that is kind attractive is kinda cool, I guess. This new story about a Playboy model, that girl is pretty hot. I'm with my wife and I see an attractive woman I make a comment like I would if I was with a guy friend. Not quite the vular 'boy talk' or 'locker room banter' that some might be thinking of. I just say "wow that chic is hot" or something to that effect. All the while I give positive reinforcement to my wife about my affection and feelings towards her and would never betray her. That is what is right, I don't hide my admiration for beautiful women and I don't peruse any of them as well. My wife even comments when a girl has nice boobs or something. Rarely does she comment on other guys, probably because when she has the best...hahahaha

Anyway, Trump is a jerk. This is not a news flash to anyone, except...Gina? If the guy was my Dad, just based on what we all think we know about him, I wouldn't have alot of respect.

On the rest of it Martin, people are keeping score. You know the people that decide elections. The dedicated left will vote one way and the dedicated right will vote the other way and everyone else, they watch.

Is it still "the economy stupid"? Some events and issues supercede others and make other failures or weaknesses forgivable. Time will tell what all the moving pieces in the equation end up to be.

I can't imagine anyone liking the fact the President is setting his policy positions based on Fox & Friends. Or any TV show. I will say that Trump's lack of knowledge or willingness to learn about how things work and why was a major underestimation on my part. So here we are. Next election is in a 990 days. We'll see then.

Do You surround Yourself with people who conduct their business and affairs like this? If so You are a sleazy, somewhat immoral character in my book. This type of behaviour compromises our national security, period, it's why they went after Clinton and one of the many valid reasons we should be removing the fraudulent, treasonous and generally disgusting Trump. My guess is that if any of us here conducted ourselves as our leader, we would be quickly divorced, jobless and incarcerated???.......Haha Hahaha "our leader", I made a joke 😛 😛 😛 .................Peace...........joe

I will say that Trump's lack of knowledge or willingness to learn about how things work and why was a major underestimation on my part. So here we are. Next election is in a 990 days. We'll see then.

Several points follow:

I do believe it is fair to scrutinize the sexual escapades of the leader of the free world - be it Clinton or Trump. Clinton has been discussed for many many years now. Trump is current and relevant to 2018. He's a pig. One can only wonder what FLOTUS thinks with all the accusation from 21 women of his groping as well as the porn star who seems soon to talk. I think the PR is fair game to examine and find the religious types hypocrites to turn an eye.

I do feel sorry for his youngest son. He deserves better.

I don't think the economy any longer is the main driving force for votes with the every day escapades of a reality TV show operating on Pennsylvania Ave. Each day seems to bring more incompetence & calamity than the prior day. What we've seen in special elections and heavy turnout for special elections flipping many seats GOP to Dem is a macro referendum on "Trump the Whole" or maybe "Trump The A$$hole". Either way, the pattern & momentum appears to have shifted to a dose of reality of how bad Trump is for America. I do expect the pattern to continue into the 2018 elections. There is a reason so many GOP Congressmen are retiring with the handwriting on the wall. They may have been fools to go along with such a novice and divisive "leader", but they are not so stupid to think they can survive the inevitable of being ousted.

Personally I think Larry Flint has a better set of moral values than Trump.

my few takes

1 - Happened before he was President. Doesn't jeopardize govt.

2 - For all the crap Melania gets she seems more outraged than Hillary was. She may not have the courage to go after the Donald but at least she isn't publically denouncing the woman.

3 - For those of you too young to remember the Kennedy Brothers man oh man. The baby Ted drove his girlfriend to her death over a bridge in his drunken state. Didn't report it till the next day "due to shock." JFK was banging women in the closets of the white house. Supposedly he and Bobby were concurrently banging Marilyn Monroe at the same time as a notorious Mafia Chieftain (talk about compromising security.) Imagine today if someone brought out a drunken/drugged actress to sing Happy Birthday to her president boyfriend at a public affair?

4 - I don't behave this way; don't approve. But what someone does in their private time is between them their spouse and their maker. Unless it affects their duties it is just fodder for talk.

5 - f**k this and enact gun control for semi automatic weapons

I do not agree with nor endorse this type of behavior, but I do not think it jeopardizes national security when a President does it because he is within the confines of a secure place and he is not talking about missile codes when he is involved with it. Wherever it takes place, the women come and go, they are authorized to be there so people know they are there so they are not roaming around on their own. People also would see them leave because these Presidents are married and usually have wives living there who would know if he was out all night with someone else. If he's doing it in the daytime, well he has a schedule of things to do, and so would the woman, it's like any other afternoon hook up, much like what happens in major cities in the wealthy business districts. You see it all the time. They get together for sex and then go about their other business. This is the world.

The secret service people who hire prostitutes and have their briefcases with Presidential itinerary in the room CAN compromise national security, additionally if there was an emergency it would take them longer to get their clothes on and be on the job.

Historically, presidents aren't faithful to their wives going back to the slave-owning early ones. [Jefferson gets a pass I suppose because he was a widower.]

As a young voter (18, 22), I thought the known philanderer was likely to be less respectful of women's/human rights. I no longer think that's true. I think what goes on in a marriage is likely to be what is palatable to both of them and none of the public's business. Johnson, after all, is credited with getting the Civil Rights Act done.

I do think Mrs. Trump is in an exceptional position in that she didn't expect her husband to WIN. However, she stands to gain nothing from divorcing him (her prenup wasn't re-written for her to get a bonus to stay thru the White House years) so she stays. Her not-so-subtle signs of displeasure such as swatting his hand away and scowling make HER look childish. HE hasn't changed. He has never been nor is he likely to be faithful to a wife and he demands prenups that leave them w/very little compared to their current lifestyle. He coughs up child support because he has to and Marla Maples (who is currently begging to be on the reality TV show Real Housewives of New York despite living in CA for $100,000/season) could probably enlighten us all on his stinginess.

He's a misogynist. That's the least of his flaws.

What does she want to gain from telling the world her story? Or maybe the question is how much $$$ does she want for her story? I don't think there will be a movie of epic proportions to come out of this like Gone With the Wind, so why doesn't she just do the talk show circuit, she already was on Jimmy Kimmel live.

Maybe someone of a democratic persuasion is paying her big money to do this. I recall a prophecy from last year that the democrats would parade 8 women out from January and into the 2018 claiming to have had sexual harassment or relations with Trump.

I seriously doubt the Democrats paid her anything. The election is long over, smearing Trump this far from the next election isn't going to do anything, and besides, Trump fans and even the religious right have shown that they don't care, as long as he stayed anti-abortion is all they care about.

My guess is that she got a good offer for a book deal. Clearly a book by her on her affair with Trump will be a best seller, and it will up her name recognition for whatever future endeavors she has in mind.

Mr. Cohen may need a raise for the the work that is coming.

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/379341-ex-playboy-model-who-alleges-affair-with-trump-sues-to-be-able-to-be

Remember when I told you it was prophecized that 8 woman would be coming out to claim they had affairs with Trump? Daniels is #1, now here are 2 more. There are supposed to be a total of 8 women who come out.

60 Minutes is airing the interview that Anderson Cooper did with Stormy Daniels tomorrow nite.

It is interesting to note she had considered running for the Senate. Also NBC reported yesterday that there is a CD in a safe, could be video of any of the alleged encounters.

As to who is behind this coming out, I think we get a hint of that from this from the above cited article.

"And Daniels is not alone. Another adult film star, Jessica Drake, who accused Trump of trying to buy sex from her, claims she also has “confidential information” about Trump’s relationship with Daniels, according to a 2016 non-disclosure agreement or NDA.

On Tuesday, the former Playboy model Karen McDougal became the second woman this month to challenge Trump’s efforts to silence her, announcing she was suing the president to be released from a 2016 legal agreement that restricted her ability to speak about her alleged affair with the future president.

Separately, a judge this month ruled that a defamation suit brought by former Apprentice star Summer Zervos, who accused Trump of harassing her, may go forward, clearing the path for other sexual misconduct allegations against the president to be aired.

"It is settled that the president of the United States has no immunity and is ‘subject to the laws’ for purely private acts,” the judge declared, citing the precedent set by a lawsuit brought against Bill Clinton by his alleged mistress Paula Jones two decades ago. "

Is this payback (from the deep state) for the nasty Presidential debate where Trump had some of those who accused Bill Clinton of impropriety in the audience, remember that debate?

I saw an interview Stormy did with Jimmy Kimmell. His questions were very well written, and she answered one of them without directly answering it. She was smart and charming with her demeanor. Sunday night should be interesting. Did they sent Anderson Cooper to do the interview because he is gay? So there would not be any possibility of any sexual harassment going on? One can only wonder what kind of commentary Andy Rooney would have had about his situation.
