Have a nice Turkey Day

Will be frying a turkey. Wife is baking some dressing and biscuits, cooking some collards, and doing some fried corn. Angies' special pound cake for dessert along with different toppings.
And I damn sure ain't getting up a 4 AM to go shopping on Friday.
What will your day be like?

Same to you!

Right now I'm licking cake batter off the spoon!!!

Eat like a damn pig (I LOVE turkey and dressing), watch football all day, leftovers for a week afterwards, and my employer is paying me to do this. NOTHING wrong with this picture............
Oh almost forgot: Some THC chocolate thrown in, of course!

Couldn't work in the vineyard yesterday (pulled muscles in my back pulling a dead tree out of the vines) so I checked supplies and did all the store runs yesterday.

Four generation deer hunt today.
Realized after that when my father hits 83 next month, we will have 23 years in between each generation.

Nice looking group there Ron.
Until we sold the old farm we would gather and shoot skeet, or the metal targets on the 225 yard range.
Took turns shooting and working the kettle in the syrup house. Made cane syrup from Georgia Red cane raised on the farm.
Years before we had the farm we would eat a big breakfast (5 AM) get down to the old farms around Rochell and hunt till mid afternoon (quail) and come back for Thanksgiving supper.
Great memories as far back as I can remember. Keep the tradition going even though it doesn't look like it will be hard to do.

My kids are the seventh generation to live in our house.
My grandfather made maple syrup in the sugar bush across the road.
We have 36 acres of farmland and woods that we hunt.
Dad got his 29th bow kill this year, a nice 170 lb six point.

Making a big batch tomorrow.
I was curious how much I make each time so last year I weighed it.
Eighteen pounds.
I share/give away about half of what I make, folks here seem to love it.
I use 2 lbs. ground venison, 2 1/2 lbs coarse ground chuck, a whole venison loin diced, then go from there with 3 onions and 3 diced bell peppers forming my base.
