Most politicians are for getting re-elected, period. To that end, they do whatever they can to satisfy those who pay the tab to get re-elected. In the case of Tesla, the highly powerful dealership networks want no part of direct auto sales to consumers. Thus state politicians cave to those who butter their bread and continue to ensure that car manufacturers not be allowed to bypass the dealers. Free market my ass!
