Looking at The Warriors current team, and considering that they are the defending NBA champions, wouldn't you have to say that their 2012 draft must go down as one of the very best drafts for any team in NBA history? Consider this:

Pick #7: Harrison Barnes, North Carolina
Pick #30: Festus Ezeli, Vanderbilt
Pick #35: Draymond Green, Michigan State

Probably most amazing (hindsight always being foresight) is that Green was the last of the three taken, he went in the 2nd round, and that 34 teams passed on him, including The Warriors, twice.
They've all turned into excellent players, but you'd have to say that of the three, Draymond Green has the most effect on games.

Oh, I forgot to add: We can set the NBA record for a start to a season, at 16-0, by beating The 2-11 Lakers tomorrow night (it's in Oakland).

What number do you wear?

Just kidding. It is pretty remarkable what they are doing, off the charts! May never see anything like it again so enjoy. Cool

I wonder if Marc Jackson was still coaching if they would still be where they are now. I would have to say yes, but I could be wrong.

I think to a point the NBA is a players league, not in all cases, but in most.

Hard to say. Certainly the Warriors improved under Jackson, but his style, while inspirational, lacked offensive acumen, and he was reticent to allow Curry to be aggressive on defense for fear of injury. Kerr is a more astute X's and O's coach, and the players love him. On the other hand, it's been Luke Walton as interim head as Kerr recovers from what must have been serious back surgery. Jackson deserves credit for what he did, no doubt.

They have to meet the Pacers coming up soon...they have 9 of they're last 11. 😉

Curry is UNREAL!!!

Special squad alright -- what a juggernaut -- yep Stephen Curry is playing his way into MJ/LeBron territory -- if he hasn't already
& right on their heels, after decades of it being vice versa
Spurs
they've become the equal, statistically, of the great Cousy/Russell teams as far as multiple-decade won-lost record

Celts doing OK (we have ex-Warrior David Lee) -- long road trip coming up to Fla., then out west, incl a stop in Scrmnto against old friend Rajon Rondo (16/16 last night) -- & Spurs Dec. 3 -- mainly we gotta get Marcus Smart back ASAP, he was playing really well before getting hurt -- let's go Celts

but yeah, that was a great draft class -- & now, even w/an inexperienced interim coach, Luke Walton, GSW wails on -- nice going indeed

The Warriors are actually getting boring on most nights. They played @ Phoenix last night and I watched only the first half. Phoenix isn't THAT bad.........I mean, they were 7-8 going into last night's game, which is a respectable NBA record, and they were playing at home.

The Warriors scored 44 points in the first quarter and the game was over! Think about that...........if you did that every quarter, that would be 176 points.

Oh yeah............another NBA record fell last night. The Warriors made 15 three pointers in the first half, going 15-20. That's an NBA record for most three pointers by any team in one half. They also set a franchise record last night for three pointers in one game: 22.

Suns' coach Jeff Hornacek on the Warriors chances of eclipsing the Chicago Bulls' record of 72 wins:
"The way they're playing now, yeah," said Hornacek. "It's a long season. One injury could make a big difference. They've been healthy last year. If they stay healthy, yeah they got a great chance of breaking that record."

same thing last nite -- 30-16, game --
22-0?? It's unbelievable how they're playing -- they went with Curry, Klay Thompson & Braymond Green for scoring, using Bogut, Brandon Rush & 6th man Andre Iguodala as decoys basically -- they're in such a zone -- they have a perfect rotation going

...robslob do you think they're doing this coachless? Luke Walton is just a standin apparently, & he should be -- he's letting em play -- what about when Steve Kerr is ready to come back

Celts made SA work for it Sat. night -- I like our team --

Spurs & OKC could challenge GSW in playoffs -- Westbrook a triple double last nite & they have the same idea w/he & Durant scoring, others playing off them -- plus those two bigs, Steven Adams & Enes Kanter

Let's go Celts, let's get a win tonite in NO

Steve Kerr set the template for this success and they are following it.

That said, I have read that NBA officials are considering changing the rule and crediting Luke Walton for every win they have had in which he has been head coach. When Kerr was asked about it, he said for him to get credit for these wins is the most ludicrous thing he's ever heard of.

When the league office doesn't quite know what to do, that tells you something: The Warriors are venturing into unprecedented territory.

Back to Walton: I was really surprised when they named him interim coach, only because of the fact that he's only 35 years old. It would have been Alvin Gentry, Kerr's head assistant last year, but he's head coach at New Orleans now.

But look at Luke's resume: Two NBA rings while with the Lakers; played under Phil Jackson. Grew up with a Father who was not only an NBA legend, but a wellspring of deep basketball knowledge. Bill Walton played the game the way it was meant to be played, one of the great passers from the center position in the history of the game. Warriors management/coaches have said that Luke has an amazing basketball mind. When you think about it, is it really all that surprising?

So Kerr thinks Walton should get credit or he (Kerr) should get credit? I'm confused.

Good points, knew he'd been around & won w/the Lakers etc -- gosh you guys could have anyone from James Naismith to Shooter Flatch runnin' the show & it'd still be 22-0!! indeed they're in the hoosier state for their next game -- but yeah watta team that 2012 draft class turned out -- hoops at the highest level

indeed they're in the hoosier state for their next game --

And I bet a lot of Pacers fans wish they hadn't come by. Yeah, Pacers made it interesting in the 4th. But truth is, this game was over by halftime. The Warriors started it off with one of their unbelievable continuous highlight reels, put up 44 points and a 20 point lead in the first quarter.
<>

Yeah, I know they won it last year. I know they had won 22 straight going into last night. But still, I was in shock watching this game. I mean..........on the road against a good team, playing 3 out of 4 days.............and they ran them right out of the gym. It's still hard for me to believe how good this team really is. Meanwhile one of their starters, Harrison Barnes, is out with a severe ankle sprain. With their depth, it just doesn't matter.

Might have to be without Klay Thompson as well on Friday tho ....in Boston....I see streak coming to an end....
😮 😛
What sports fan can't enjoy watching a team going as well as the Warriors -- it's awesome -- same thing last night, blew their doors off early, as you pointed out -- hopefully it'll be a real good game Friday -- hopefully both Thompson & Marcus Smart will be back soon

once Harrison Barnes returns, & Kerr returns & gets back into the swing of things on the bench -- just more of the same from this powerhouse squad

Hmmmmm........the resident Celts fan is feeling pretty chipper this morning I see.

From this morning's San Jose Mercury News:

"Thompson said his ankle wasn't badly sprained and that he 'should be back in no time,' and the Warriors don't play again until Friday at Boston. But the injury comes at a time when Harrison Barnes is out with a sprained ankle and Leandro Barbosa missed the Pacers game because of an illness."

Even IF both Thompson and Barnes are out (highly unlikely), please remember that the MVP will still be on the floor, and he is the one who wills them to win. And they've got a ton of other shooters. I do not recommend going to Vegas and mortgaging your financial future Friday on a 12-9 team going up against the 23-0 world champs. Let's chat more late Friday or Saturday morning............IF you're in the mood.

I watched the second half of Celts - Bulls last night. Celts do look improved and they've got lots of size. Don't know how that's going to match up with Warriors' speed, though. Will be weird to see David Lee playing against us, he was such a huge part of the team over the last four years, in fact there were times a few years back when along with Curry he flat out carried them offensively.

The Cs have been fun to watch again this season, and between the guys they have now and the stockpile of drafts picks for the next few years they are poised for a good run. A win Friday against this GS team would be huge for them. I am very doubtful that they can pull it off, but it should be fun to watch them try. Cool

Tough loss for you Stephen.

Celts look very tough, I must say. I told you we'd beat you even without Thompson and Barnes but I was almost wrong............2 OT's.

I've NEVER seen Steph Curry look as gassed as he did at the end of the second OT. And to think they have to play in Milwaukee Saturday night..........after 2 OT's? That is tough to do. Milwaukee will have a back-to-back as well, but likely not 2 OT's the first night. I hope Thompson plays tomorrow............we sure are gonna need him.

In the end, Warriors won it on the boards, outrebounding the Celts by 16. And how about Draymond Green's game? 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, 5 blocks. DAMN!! Curry had 38, including a career high 14 of 14 from the line.

One more thing: Kelly Olynyk looks REALLY good. He's an inside/outside guy and you could see that when he was at Gonzaga. I saw him live at Santa Clara a few years ago................he had 34 that night.............he's huge and can bang inside with the big boys, then he'll turn around and nail a couple of threes to burn you. He's an up and comer for sure.

Great game. & it was almost inevitable GSW'd lose the next nite -- long game w/2 OTs, then another games less than 24 hrs later w/basically time for a nap/bite to eat in between --
but a slammin game & as one friend who watched it said, they do everything we do, only better

In the same fashion that the Milwaukee Bucks will receive a serious reality check tonight, the Pistons will wish they never left Ft. Wayne a week from tomorow 😮 😛

Us & GSW were coming off tough games the night before -- Warriyz w/us, us w/Cleve -- before losing -- it was obvious we weren't at our best but still fell short by only 3 points

OUR Isaiah Thomas made Det. fans forget THEIR Isiah Thomas tho -- he was the best player on the floor

ESPN headline: Barkeley: 72-Win Bulls Would 'Kill' Warriors
I don't agree with that -- it could be the round mound of rebound just spouting off to hear himself talk, although I do agree with some of what he says
but I'd feel comfortable taking a bet on GSW in a hypothetical matchup -- didn't read the article, just the headline, but that was enough

Looked to see if we had an NBA thead for this year, and this was the closest thing to it.... guess nobody cares.. 😛

I haven't really cared for the NBA for years, but the Bulls look they finally have learned how to win a few games this year - 6 in a row now....... these are not the Thibs Bulls that only played defense - it looks like they completely forgot how to play it for a while.............. Grin

I am a Pacers fan, but it's kinda waned the last few years. I think its due to the attitudes/behavior/diva type personalities of some players and the type of ball being played. I think I enjoy college better. I still follow Indy, but not as hard core as I use to. Maybe I just need to go with the changes!! Getting old! 😉

suddenly, Tor has taken off -- well we're playing well too & will show that tonight in Cleve -- Tor Raptors have caught up to Cavs in standings, in 2nite's game we'll outscore them -- this team brings it every night, win or lose
Warriyz continue to hone in on da Bulls season w/l record -- what a squad -- Curry 51 pts the other night

weird article on ESPN about retired stars dissing GSW -- weird only b/c their coach, at least if I'm reading it right (may not be), has this comment -- these are last 2 paragraphs

"Warriors coach Steve Kerr has also had enough of the talk comparing yesteryear to today.

'"Because athletes, you know, 50 years ago, were much bigger, stronger and faster, more finely tuned," he told reporters Thursday. "So Steph might not have made it in the league."'

I've heard of a quiet 49-9 b4 but Spurs take the cake -- anyone knows the finals are a sham w/1 of them not in it, & that like last year, west conf finals has the 2 best, far-&-away

Down by 14 w/4 min to go, 10 w/1 min left -- yet we came w/in a just-missed 3 that would've completed a comeback for the ages in MN this week....
the Celts this year has something going -- watta Team -- heal up quick, Kelly Olynyk

I saw this, this morning in a Bay area paper. It was Oscar Robertson, Stephen Jackson and Cedric Ceballos. Jackson has always been a bit of a case, Ceballos I'm not familiar with although he was a good player. To see Oscar Robertson named REALLY surprised me.

As far as any former player dissing the current Warriors, IMO they are only dissing themselves. When you are as dominant as the current Warriors team is, someone is always going to take a shot.

I think any intelligent fan knows that this Warriors team would have won in any era, although I admit I'd sell my home to get in a time machine and watch them against the Showtime Lakers of the 80's.

The 80's Celtics would be another one to see. But I don't think the 80's Celtics would give them as many problems as the Lakers speed would have. The 80's Celtics had some great teams, but they were not deep teams. They often played only 7 guys. No team with a 7 man rotation is going to beat the Warriors in a 7 game series. The Warriors are just too deep. Shaun Livingston, Andre Igoudala, Leandro Barbosa, Festus Ezeli (when healthy), Ian Clark, Brandon Rush. Now they've added Anderson Varajao to the list. Hard to even measure how many games that second unit has won for the Warriors. I don't think Oscar Robertson, Stephen Jackson or Cedric Ceballos are thinking about that.

It sounds like just sour grapes from grumpy ex-jocks -- "back in my day...." etc etc -- Warriors are among best ever -- NYK was reduced to biddy basketball team last night, as are most of their opponents

More-so than the Bird-Parish-Tiny-DJ teams, our early 70s teams were tops-ever & would have given GSW, Spurs, 1990s da Bulls, 80s showtime Lakiz, etc more than their money's worth

the wheeling & dealing on the 1972-73 team -- Cowens, Havlicek & JoJo White, w/Don Chaney & Paul Silas -- still our most winningest team at 68 wins -- the peak of those teams, title or no title -- w/Don Nelson & Tom Sanders, holdovers from the Russell years, coming off the bench -- we Smoked people that season, incl 33-straight wins LA
