Forget it Hawk! Those on the right are always quick to criticize Obama for his handling of this but will never say what they think should be done. They are afraid to say what they really think should be done mostly in fear of being lumped together with Trump. Hell, the GOP candidates last night couldn't agree on what should be done. They were all over the place with opposing ideas ranging from no fly zones to carpet bombing to killing terrorists families to sending in US boots. They also couldn't agree on whether Assaad should stay or go. They have no clue, especially that ultra moron Trump but they are quick to criticize Obama. So when someone complains about what Obama is doing they should be put to the exact question you asked Doug but don't hold your breath for any specific answers because they never give any.

THE FACTS: The Texas senator's conviction that the Islamic State group can be routed with an air campaign of overwhelming force is hard to square with the reality on the ground. IS fighters are holed up in a variety of cities, amid civilians, raising questions about how he could direct a carpet bombing that only singles out the enemy.

He was asked in the debate if he'd be willing to cause civilian casualties in Raqqa, a major Syrian city that has become de facto capital of the Islamic State group's so-called caliphate. ISIS is also in control of the Iraqi city of Mosul.

I didn't realize Hillary was on the stage last night. This was a GOP Debate, but no post can prevent an entrance for Doug from injecting negative, angry, and bitter attitude lobbed at & taking swipes at the Clintons. I'm guessing it makes him feel really good?

What I pulled from the bits I saw is that every single Republican Candidate wants full scale World War. I wonder how Americans will like this party once their sons and daughters start coming home limbless and psychologically broken, if they come home at all. Right now we have about 1% of the population in the military. Other than that Americans know nothing about our current war, the longest in history.

There is no sacrifice among the people. As a people we take our hats off at ballgames and stick bumper stickers on our cars saying "we support the troops". That's America's biggest lie. It sickens me. Maybe a full scale war is just what America needs to wake up.

What I take from Obama and the Democrats is that they are fine with Americans dying in Jihadist terror attacks as long as they can continue to not do anything consequential about it.

C'mon Doug, we already have Muleman to post drivel like this (see above - do you really want him as a fan?). This site is in desperate need of an intelligent conservative voice - maintain the role.

As for the debate, why did some Republican candidates choose to mention Obama at all? Isn't he irrelevant at this point? They aren't running against Obama - they are running against each other for the nominee, but they kept pointing out all of Obama's mistakes. Why? How does that help them?

Best line of the night actually came from Fiorina...Trump actually screamed that we shouldn't spend any money at all on foreign countries and instead invest it in the crumbling American infrastructure, and Carly pointed "Wow, that's exactly what Obama has been saying for 8 years - I'm surprised to hear that from a Republican candidate." Hahaha, brilliant.

You know it's funny, someone asks that every time I post a factcheck.org link. The answer is the same every time...OF COURSE. They fact check all the candidates, debates, etc. and I've posted the link several times now.

What should be done?

Forget it Hawk! Those on the right are always quick to criticize Obama for his handling of this but will never say what they think should be done. They are afraid to say what they really think should be done mostly in fear of being lumped together with Trump. Hell, the GOP candidates last night couldn't agree on what should be done. They were all over the place with opposing ideas ranging from no fly zones to carpet bombing to killing terrorists families to sending in US boots. They also couldn't agree on whether Assaad should stay or go. They have no clue, especially that ultra moron Trump but they are quick to criticize Obama. So when someone complains about what Obama is doing they should be put to the exact question you asked Doug but don't hold your breath for any specific answers because they never give any.

There are inumerable answers given all over the place and they can be easily found. Some you may agree with some you may disagree with. But it is a lie to say no suggestions have been offered. As a starting point it's high time that Islam is removed from the protected list that prevents the FBI, the clandestine services and local police investigate suspicious individuals. As a second point we can elect a leader who actually admires Western civilization and its freedoms and hard fought for rights and is willing to speak publicly and on the world stage in favor of those rights (See e.g. Roosevelt, Franklin, Kennedy John F., Reagan, Ronald) Third we can begin to make hard and serious decisions about who belongs in this country not based on political correctness but on American security needs. 4th We can ask the Pentagon to come up with an actual strategy for dealing with the situation in the middle east and then act on it instead of doing absolutely nothing. 5th We can not bluster and make red lines and then forget about them when the enemy doesn't go along with it. 6th We can stop trying to reconcile with the leading proponent of world wide jihad on earth, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These are just a few of the broader strategic things than I hope the next president, no matter who it is, will undertake.
