Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.
The key paragraph. Apparently it was decided in this case that the absence of intent wins out. No

this is the best message to send to the public and us ordinary citizens, but it is what it is.
I would disagree. I'd say the closing paragraph was the key pagragraph. No one was closer to the facts and detail than James Comey & his staff.
Last paragraph follows:
"I know there were many opinions expressed by people who were not part of the investigation—including people in government—but none of that mattered to us. Opinions are irrelevant, and they were all uninformed by insight into our investigation, because we did the investigation the right way. Only facts matter, and the FBI found them here in an entirely apolitical and professional way. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this organization."

You can't pull one paragraph out of context and say it is "the key" and still have any credibility. Your next three sentences all are based on that one paragraph, without any regard for the rest of the statement that gives it context. Suggesting that the paragraph you selected is "the key" of the entire statement disregards the rest, which includes this:
In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here.
If you read the entire statement and conclude that she can't have your vote for president (I know she never had yours alloak) that's entirely fair, but pulling out one paragraph and drawing conclusions about the entire investigation from it is generally only something partisan hacks would do.

It's the handling of the info. not the actual info. contained therein.

my final feelings on this subject are inline with Comey's and the FBI. although not illegal it was extremely sloppy.

Laughing my ass off at limbaugh, hannity, and all the other clownservatives who are so butt hurt today.
Yup, time for another BENGHAZI hearing!!!

No doubt, Rush Limbaugh was going insane this morning. I think all these people had themselves really convinced that the witch was going to burn, and now the straw-haired snaggle-toothed burlap clad pea-brained peasants are all standing in the village square with all the faggots they brought, looking at each other with their mouths hanging open.

Growing up i was taught ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. This still applies to random Joe Public but not to the Clintons it appears. Wasnt general Patreus career ruined for mishandling classified information on a much smaller scale?

So, then are you saying that the FBI is full of bovine excrement, and is working a hidden agenda with the Clintons?

Clearly a double standard and would not fit the WH narrative

Wasnt general Patreus career ruined for mishandling classified information on a much smaller scale?
Patreus knowingly and intentionally handed classified information to his biographer/lover. How is that a much smaller scale?

guys....just accept OG is saying that our justice department is completely corrupt....he believes the gov't is corrupt....there is a massive conspiracy happening

No, he is just ticked off that his party got rained on. How long before Mule chimes in on this? You can bet that he would have been all over this had Clinton been indicted. 😛

Clinton broke no laws. pay attention.
Did Clinton blatantly lie to your face? this should be easy for you since you are paying such close attention.

Probably, although she would still say no. Although I don't think she lies as often nor about as many topics as Trump does on a daily basis. When it comes to lying, something all politicians do and have been doing since forever (not saying that makes it right, just acknowledging reality), Trump is the master liar...he does it with such impunity that I keep thinking I should be surprised that he gets the same free pass from his "base" as Hillary is getting from hers, but I'm not.

Yes, of course Hillary lied. She's a liar. All politicians are out of necessity. One of the worst was Bill Clinton. Politicians do stupid things and then when backed into a corner they lie about it. Kind of like husbands except to a higher degree. Trump is also a liar, but a completely different type. He lives in a different reality than most of us. In his reality he may believe that the things he says are true, but that doesn't make them true. In a perfect world no one would lie. But in this imperfect world I'd rather deal with someone who knew they were lying than someone who didn't know they were lying because they were deluded.

The pressure of politics makes people do things they normally wouldn't do -- did she lie or didn't she -- Trump has been accused along the way of potentially scandalous things too
it's all setting up for a marathon of mud slinging over the next 4 months -- they haven't even reached the convention floors as yet --
when they do, Donald should tab Jeb Bush as his running mate -- they weren't as contentious as Hillary and Bernie were, & w/a past president to turn to for advice/sounding out, would counteract the Bill/Hillary factor
Jeb would probably say no thanks tho --
as opposed as they are to their own candidate, the Repubs are insuring victory for the Dems in November

"On April 23, 2015, Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified materials. He was given a two-year probationary period and a fine of $100,000"

Salient point. Maybe we need to mark how these things are handled given which party is in power. It just might be the case that whoever is running the show gets special treatment, Republican or Democrat.

Didn't he also loose his security clearance? Curious if anyone can explain to me why Hillary didn't loose hers.

Petraeus accepted a plea deal, the charges against him were much more serious. He was telling his biographer/lover top secret information that she was not cleared to know. That is a far more serious charge than what Hillary did. There is no evidence that anyone got any top secret info from Hillary's server.

He was in love with his biographer?

It just might be the case that whoever is running the show gets special treatment, Republican or Democrat.
Maybe they do to a certain extent, but overall I think all politicians get special treatment when compared to the average Joe like you and me. That's just the American way. Powerful politicians get away with more than folks with little or no power. the rich get away with more than the poor, whites get away with more than minorities, and right on down the line. That's nothing new.

True dat

He was in love with his biographer?
He was having an affair with her. And he was feeding her classified information.

Did she spill the beans on him?

Understandable, to a degree, but this involves the Presidency.

Did she spill the beans on him?
She double crossed him and wrote a book called The Education of David Petraeus. She should have just kept her goings on under the desk with him private business. You don't cheat with someone and then expose them and write a book on it to capitalize on it and ruin his career. That's just 'low down, dirty mean'.

There are no winners here, and it's the American people who ultimately lose. We have two below average candidates duking it out with one another for president of our country. That should upset all of us. And to those who are so outraged and so sure of themselves that Hillary committed a crime, how asinine are you to think that you have any clue of what really went on? What is going on in your private life where you believe you have better information than the FBI? If you are outraged about this, then you're simply not happy with something in your own life, and taking it out on some stupid political event.

You say that like it matters, and yet democrats are still nominating her, while the GOP is nominating a xenophobic con artist. With the stakes so high, why has the electorate gone so low in selecting candidates????
