She doesn't have the balls that Hillary had to even make me consider her as an option for President. The way she back tracked on something as trivial as heritage shows plenty enough for me. I jam with a group of Natives all over Montana, The Dakotas, and Wyoming and the only thing that came up in conversation was the perception of her claim being a political ploy and nothing do with having pride in being of Native American heritage. Other than that, only Natives pushing an agenda spoke more on the subject

her claim being a political ploy

.

It was personal info. She never mentioned it. It would have stayed buried where it belongs, in the doesn't matter file, but it became an issue when unearthed and used as mudslinging by her political opponents.

X2

She's very bright & has in-depth knowledge of issues...something that Impulsive Don lacks. However, there are better choices to pick from who are less divisive with broader appeal than Warren.

Even if she doesn't get the nomination, the upside is she will be in the spotlight and defending the country by calling out the criminal moron. I am glad she's going to be slapping that punk around.

Yet she made a choice to respond and make it political after the fact.

Brer and Martin, why bring up Trump? He wasn't a topic in the original post nor my response. Guess it is impossible for some on this board to have a normal conversation about a specific thing and not have to push some stupid political agenda.

Um. Let's see. Thread is about someone running in 2020. Against who? Trump. Native thing comes up in thread, an issue that would have been a nothing burger but force fed to us by who? Trump. Elizabeth Warren duking it out on the national political stage with who? Trump.

Perfectly relevant and reasonable for a thread on Warren to pull in Trump.

Brer is correct. Trump makes EVERYTHING about himself and the enemies he handpicks, and since he went after Warren, it seems more than relevant to address the facts.

Wow the original post was about future racial Native comments regarding her running for office, nothing about what Trumps ever said. The running against Trump in 2020 is speculative considering he might not even be in office then. So one's personal bias in their comments in this thread dictates relevance to Warren when she has never called him a criminal moron, a punk, or Impulsive Don as far as I know. Again, pulling in someone and bad mouthing them shows that holds more important than to talk about the pros and cons of the individual in the topic at hand and their future plans.

I don't refute the facts

Trump being a criminal moron or a punk are opinions and get old. even if I agree with them.

Just glad someone is going toe to toe with the bastard. Hillary Clinton tried to take the polite road and got barbecued.

Warren won't be my pick in the primary. Joe Biden will get my vote if he runs. Of course in the general election, my vote will go for whoever is running against Trump, whether it is Biden, Warren, or a burnt grill cheese sandwich. Heck, a monkey flinging poo would be more presidential and show better judgement than the current Whitehouse occupant, and would certainly be less corrupt.

The Native heritage thing is the worst thing she has to deal with and it’s really weird that she revisited it several weeks ago.

Thing is, the bar in politics has now been set so low that the bar is laying on the floor. So much noise flies around every day that this may be a blip.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. It was in direct response to Trump’s trash bag level discourse that he started, and the sheep followed.

Pence. The current man might not run because he's been indicted, impeached, resigned, or died between now and 2020.

Then perhaps be more specific so people don't misconstrue what you merely implied. In context, "Here’s to 2 years of racist Native American comments!" signifies Natives making racists comments. The subject of the sentence as written is "comments", the described comments are "racist", and the those giving the comments are "Native American".

X2....I think she should stay where she is. Although her calling Trump out daily will be potentially very entertaining. I'm hoping Gavin Newsom decides to run. He'd get my vote over anyone but given he just won the governorship in California, I suspect he won't run in 2020.

2019 is my year NOT to speculate about what's going to happen in 2020. Too much can happen before then.

Still, I want a younger candidate than Biden (76), Warren (69), Sanders (77), Bloomberg (76) & that's their ages NOW. Reagan, at 69, seemed ancient & now we know he had dementia in his 1st term. When Clinton/Gore won, the theory was that the mantle had passed to the next generation - Clinton was 46, W 54, Obama 47 - & I was fine w/that. The incumbent at 70 is in a class by himself. I'd like to go back to some younger candidates.

Historically, presidents have been in their 50s - professional peak and young enough to have a vested interested in the future.

Truman was thrust into office at age 80 when FDR died.

Truman was 60 when was sworn in (b. 1884, sworn in 1945)

I'm 57 years old and there has never been a President younger than me in office. Obama was 2 months older than me.

Corrected. Thanks.

My point was that Reagan at 69 was the oldest prez in history. The second oldest - Harrison at 68 - died about 30 days after his mid-19th century inauguration. This trend toward septuagenarians is new & not appealing to me. I want someone at the top of their health and game.

And to those who say life expectancy was less in those days, Jefferson & Madison died in their 80s & most of the others in their 70s.

I highly doubt anyone here thought I was suggesting that Native Americans will be making racists comments. And I even further doubt that you misconstrued it, seeing as though you posted a picture of a carrot in response to my post, signifying you construed it perfectly.

You do recognize that Trump began the trash bag racist “Pocahontas” name-calling, like a true scumbag, right?

Boyton Brother said, I highly doubt anyone here thought I was suggesting that Native Americans will be making racists comments"

I was going by what you wrote and how you wrote it. Proper English can be tricky. You didn't directly quote Trump or state that you were replying directly to anything he said, so what is left but to go by what you posted, much less implied?

Boyton Brother said, "And I even further doubt that you misconstrued it, seeing as though you posted a picture of a carrot in response to my post, signifying you construed it perfectly"

The carrot on the stick was referring to the usual left versus right B/S that you can set your watch to on this board. No need for individual specifics in the post, it happens automatically based on who is posting. A sad thing to witness (IMHO)

Boyton Brother said, "You do recognize that Trump began the trash bag racist “Pocahontas” name-calling, like a true scumbag, right?"

Yes I do and since then I've heard all kinds of other people make remarks on the subject as well, both racist, politically motivated, and in jest. So what's your point? All that comment showed is that you specifically mentioned Trump and I knew without implied speculation who/whom you were referring to. See how that works? One more thing, love the double standard. It is cool to call someone of the opposite political affiliation a plethora of derogatory terms, but trip hard when they call someone of your affiliation something derogatory. Even if It is deserving, wrong should be wrong, right?

That is true. "Orange pile of shit" , "King Cheeto", and all that stuff is racist against redheads, the smallest minority on earth. Easily as bad as calling Michelle Obama a "He-she man thing ma jig".
