Debbie Wasserman Schultz gets ‘quarantined’ — and now won’t be speaking at Democratic convention

Eric W. Dolan - 24 Jul 2016 at 08:36 ET

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/07/debbie-wasserman-schultz-gets-quarantined-and-now-wont-speak-at-democratic-convention/

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the head of the Democratic National Committee, no longer has a speaking role at the party’s convention in Philadelphia.

Schultz will not have a major speaking role in an effort “to keep the peace” in the party, a source told CNN. Her role has been reduced to gaveling “the convention in and out.”

“She’s been quarantined,” a top Democrat told CNN.

WikiLeaks has released thousands of emails from the DNC, some of which appear to show the organization intent on undermining the presidential campaign of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Sanders supporters had long complained that Wasserman Schultz favored Hillary Clinton over Sanders during the Democratic presidential primary race. In May, Sanders wrote a letter to Wasserman Schultz complaining about unfair treatement.

The decision to limit Wasserman Schultz was approved by both Clinton and Sanders officials, the unnamed Democrat told CNN.

On Saturday, former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich blasted Wasserman Schultz.
“Hillary should fire Debbie Wasserman Schultz,” Reich said. “Now. Don’t wait until next week to replace her.”

DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not speak at Democratic convention following WikiLeaks release of emails: report

Debbie Wasserman Schultz will speak at the Democratic National Convention only to bring the sessions to order.

BY Nicole Hensley - NEW YORK DAILY NEWS - Sunday, July 24, 2016, 1:01 AM

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/dnc-chair-debbie-wasserman-schultz-not-speak-convention-article-1.2723552

Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not speak at next week’s Democratic National Convention after a massive email leak left the party accused of bias, according to a CNN report.

Thousands of emails published through WikiLeaks depict the Democratic party of trying to sabotage Bernie Sanders’ candidacy.

Sanders supporters have accused Schultz's party of favoring Hillary Clinton over Sanders by limiting debates, overlooking attacks on faith by personnel and lambasting his supporters following the chaotic Nevada caucus.

The Florida lawmaker continues to lead the DNC, but when hundreds of delegates pour into Philadelphia to name former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee, Schultz will not be among the dozens of big names speaking “to keep the peace,” sources told CNN.

The Dems chairwoman's latest primary controversy following complaints lodged by Bernie Sanders supporters.

Her role will be procedural or, as the sources told CNN, to “gavel in and gavel out.”
The decision reduces Schultz’s role drastically compared to the spotlight her Republican counterpart, Reince Priebus, had in Cleveland, Ohio. He spoke for more than 12 minutes the night of Donald Trump’s nomination Thursday.

A preliminary schedule of Democratic who’s who speaking during the July 25-28 convention fails to list Schultz as a speaker or in her official capacity calling the convention to order.

Schultz was expected to speak at the convention prior to WikiLeaks publishing its trove of 20,000 emails believed linked to Russian government hackers.

Furthermore, Sanders will speak Monday night before First Lady Michelle Obama takes the stage at the Wells Fargo Center.

Wasserman Schultz is history.

Sanders just responded that his number one objective is to defeat Trump and ensure Clinton becomes the next president. Sanders has already gotten major concessions from Clinton on tuition and action on corporations etc.

More troubling is the involvement of the Russians and Putin in helping Trump. The country helped the most by Trump's stance on NATO is Russia. It is no secret Trump and Putin have mutual admiration for each other.

Comrade Muleman it is not surprising at all that you have decided to be part of the next communist revolution!!

Interesting attempt to spin this massive embarrassment for the Democratic Party.

Hillary Clinton picked up on the political winds of Sander’s socialist agenda’s popularity with the un-informed and as usual re-re-retailored her on stage speech in a pandering attempt to get the votes of the Bernouts.

Let’s see if the 35,000 to 50,000 Bernie protestors in Philly this week buy it.

Trump has also adopted parts of Bernie's program which pragmatically makes him a socialist, plus for helping Putin he is a communist as well, a perfect two bagger.

A good percentage of Bernie supporters are already showing up third party in the pollls. Bernie will campaign to get them to vote Clinton who he sees as way less dangerous than Trump.

Not sure where you see the spin. If you support Trump you support the expansion of communism and so you are a commie.

CNN seems to be the first to break the story about The DNC kicking out their Chairwoman.
Do you think that CNN held the story until they got approval from The DNC to run it?

The corrupt, liberal Politico does have an agreement in place to do exactly that:

Wikileaks: Politico’s Ken Vogel Seeks DNC Approval For Post
July 22, 2016, 2:35 pm

http://spectator.org/wikileaks-politicos-ken-vogel-seeks-dnc-approval-for-post/

Wikileaks, trying to help Bernie Sanders, leaked emails between the DNC and everyone. In this leak, a billionaire donor’s social security number is revealed and emails demonstrate that the supposedly neutral DNC would smear Bernie because of his religion. But the part I’m interested in is the email exchange with Politico’s chief investigative reporter Ken Vogel and the DNC.

Here’s the email: [Emphasis added]

You can read the whole thing here.

If you believe there’s collusion between the media and Democrats, and systemically so, you’re absolutely right.

A couple years back, Mark Levin documented Vogel’s sleaziness. Here’s the link if you’d like to learn a bit more about this trouser snake. Even there, though, the slime was circumstantial evidence. Today, we have concrete proof that Politico’s bias is real and directly linked to the Democrats with whom they share ideology and, as it turns out, emailed stories before they go to print.

He should be fired for this breech of journalistic duty, but he won’t be. Likely, he’ll be promoted.

I don't know if there is cooperation between CNN and the DNC on the timing of the report, but it could be that an alliance between the Trump campaign and Vladimir Putin is behind the hacking of the DNC's emails.

Well, Goober, all I can say is that there is more evidence linking Trump to Putin than there is linking the Munich shooter to radical Islamic immigrants. When you publicly admit that assertion by you was total bullsh!t I'll do the same with the Trump/Putin email hacking claim.

Trump didn't denounce him several weeks ago when asked about Duke. He certainly had the opportunity. By the way, Duke is a registered Republican.

This is some punishment for stacking the deck against Bernie and being a crooked chair person - allow them to participate in their parties event.

She delivered Crooked Hillary to the nomination, so I dont expect President Obama to weigh in or take a stand against her still being involved.

The Latest: Under fire, Dem chair Wasserman Schultz to leave

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Latest on the 2016 presidential race (all times EDT): Associated Press 17 minutes ago

3:55 p.m.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz says she is stepping down as Democratic Party chairwoman at the end of this week's convention.

The Florida congresswoman has been under fire following the publication of hacked emails suggesting the Democratic National Committee favored Hillary Clinton in the presidential primaries.

That prompted runner-up Bernie Sanders to call Sunday for Wasserman Schultz's immediate resignation.

In a statement, Wasserman Schultz says she still plans to fulfill her duties formally opening and closing the convention in Philadelphia. She also says she will speak at the four-day gathering.

___

3:05 p.m.

On the eve of the Democratic convention, party officials are holding discussions about whether Debbie Wasserman Schultz should resign as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

That's according to a person familiar with the discussions, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

The Sunday afternoon discussions come one day before Democrats open their convention in Philadelphia to nominate Hillary Clinton as the party's presidential candidate.

The discussions were prompted in part by the publication last week of some 19,000 hacked emails, some of which suggested the DNC was favoring Clinton during the primary season.

The revelations prompted runner-up Bernie Sanders to call for Wasserman Schultz's resignation Sunday.

Sanders was critical of the Florida congresswoman throughout the primary, accusing the party of rigging the process in favor of Clinton.

___

2:32 p.m.

Barney Frank, co-chair of the rules committee at the Democratic National Convention, says it was never expected that Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz would preside over convention proceedings this week.

Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, is under fire after the leak of embarrassing emails that indicate some high-ranking party officials favored Hillary Clinton to Bernie Sanders to become the nominee. The DNC voted to select Rep. Marcia Fudge to oversee the convention proceedings instead.

Frank says Fudge was on the list to be convention chair "long before" the emails were leaked. He notes that heads of the Democratic National Committee are never picked to oversee convention proceedings.

___

2:00 p.m.

Rep. Marcia Fudge of Ohio says she is "happy to serve" as chair of the Democratic National Convention this week in Philadelphia.

Fudge issued a statement Sunday thanking Hillary Clinton for recommending her to the position. Fudge said she is looking forward to a "great convention and our ongoing efforts as we work together for a strong party and a successful election."

Still in question is what role Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz will play during the convention. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders says she should step down after some 19,000 DNC emails were leaked that suggested committee officials favored Hillary Clinton during the party's primary.

___

1:25 p.m.

Michael Bloomberg, who was elected mayor of New York City as a Republican, will speak at the Democratic National Convention to endorse Hillary Clinton for president.

Spokesman Marc LaVorgna says Bloomberg will make the endorsement speech Wednesday night.

The billionaire media mogul opted against running as a third-party candidate for fear it might siphon away votes from Clinton and help elect Republican Donald Trump.

Bloomberg has been sharply critical of Trump, and in particular of his fellow New Yorker's inflammatory rhetoric on immigration.

Bloomberg had previously been a Democrat before switching his party affiliation to Republican before his successful 2001 run for mayor. Bloomberg, who served three terms, later became an independent and a leading advocate for gun control.

His endorsement was first reported Sunday by The New York Times.

___

12:56 p.m.

The Democratic National Committee's rules panel has decided that Rep. Marcia Fudge of Ohio will preside over convention sessions beginning Monday.

A DNC rules committee member says she was voted as convention chairwoman as part of standard procedures. That makes clear that DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not act in that capacity; under party rules, the DNC head acts as temporary chair until a new one is voted in.

Still in question is what role Wasserman Schultz might play during this week's Democratic convention. Many supporters of Bernie Sanders are angry after some 19,000 emails from the DNC were leaked that suggested committee officials favored Hillary Clinton during the party's primary.

The DNC rules committee member spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of internal party affairs.

___

12:55 p.m.

Hillary Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine are planning a bus tour through Pennsylvania and Ohio after the Democratic National Convention.

Economic issues are the focus, with the Democratic ticket set to stop in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, and Youngstown and Columbus in Ohio.

They'll appear at public rallies and smaller events.

___

12:10 p.m.

Hillary Clinton and her running mate Tim Kaine say they won't come up with an epithet for Donald Trump akin to his use of "Crooked Hillary."

In a joint interview with Kaine, Clinton told "60 Minutes Sunday" that she won't engage in "that kind of insult-fest" and that she prefers to talk about Trump's record.

Kaine, who was announced as Clinton's running mate this weekend ahead of the Democratic National Convention, said using terms like "Crooked Hillary" was beneath "the kind of dialogue we should have." He added: "Most of us stopped the name-calling thing about fifth grade."

___

11:45 a.m.

A California delegate says there are serious discussions underway to challenge Hillary Clinton's pick of Tim Kaine as her running mate.

Norman Solomon, a delegate who supports Bernie Sanders, says there is talk among Sanders' delegates of walking out during Kaine's acceptance speech or turning their backs as a show of protest.

Solomon said he believes a "vast majority" of Sanders delegates support these kinds of protests to express their dismay. Sanders' supporters say they are concerned that Kaine is not progressive enough.

___

11:15 a.m.

Tim Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, were back at their longtime church in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday, a day after the Virginia senator made his campaign debut with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton as her running mate.

Kaine — a former choir member at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church — sang a solo during Communion.

His wife spoke briefly at the end of the service, telling parishioners how important they've been in their lives.

She said "you have helped shape us" and that she and her husband "will really need your prayers."

Kaine told reporters outside the church: "We needed some prayers today and we got some prayers, and we got some support and it really feels good."

St. Elizabeth's is a majority black church in Richmond's Highland Park area.

___

10:15 a.m.

Bernie Sanders says he wishes Hillary Clinton had picked someone like Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren for her running mate instead of Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine.

Sanders tells NBC's "Meet the Press," that Kaine is a "very, very smart guy" and a "very nice guy" but wouldn't have been his vice presidential choice.

Sanders — who describes himself as a democratic socialist — says Kaine is more conservative than he is.

Warren is known for her fiery edges, particularly when going after Wall Street and big banks, and is a favorite of the party's liberal base.

___

9:35 a.m.

Bernie Sanders wants the head of the Democratic National Committee to step down — after leaked emails suggested the party played favorites during the presidential primary.

Here's what Sanders tells ABC's "This Week": "I'm not shocked, but I am disappointed."

Emails posted to the website Wikileaks show that at least some DNC officials were looking at ways to undercut Sanders' campaign, including questioning his religious beliefs.

Sanders says the party chairwoman, Rep., Debbie Wasserman Schultz, should resign immediately.

The Vermont senator says a new leader is needed to focus the DNC on defeating Donald Trump, attracting young voters and improving the economy.

___

9:30 a.m.

Hillary Clinton's campaign manager accuses Russia of leaking emails on purpose from the Democratic National Committee to help Republican Donald Trump in the presidential election.

Wikileaks has posted emails that including several denunciations of Clinton's primary rival, Bernie Sanders, and his supporters.

Robby Mook says on CNN's 'State of the Union" that experts are telling the campaign "Russian state actors" broke into the DNC's emails, and that other experts say these Russians are now selectively releasing the emails.

He says it's no coincidence the emails are coming out on the eve of the party's nominating convention in Philadelphia.

___

9 a.m.

President Barack Obama says Donald Trump's suggestion that the U.S. might not come to the defense of NATO allies is another sign of what he calls Trump's "lack of preparedness" on foreign policy.

Obama tells CBS' "Face the Nation" that Trump's comments amount to an admission that the U.S. "might not abide" by NATO's "most central tenet."

NATO members promise that an attack against any of them is considered an assault against all.

___

8:50 a.m.

It's become a bit easier for Hillary Clinton to formally claim the nomination at the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

The Democratic National Committee has released a slightly trimmed list of superdelegates — those are the party officials who can back any candidate.

There are now 4,763 total delegates, and 712 of them are superdelegates.

Two superdelegates left their positions in the last month, while Rep. Mark Takai of Hawaii died from cancer.

It now takes 2,382 delegates to formally clinch the nomination.

Heading into the convention, Clinton now has 2,814, when including superdelegates, according to an Associated Press count. Sanders has 1,893.

More than 50 remain uncommitted

Ah...love the "Crooked Hillary" nickname, do ya?

Funny how Donald had nicknames for the competition. There was Lying Ted, Low Energy Jeb, and Little Marco. Very cutesy stuff & very presidential.

Maybe we can come up with a nickname for Donald..."Delusional Donald", "Dangerous Donald", etc.

Another first in politics where the likes of Trump mocks the disabled & disparages women in front of a microphone or TV cameras.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz to resign immediately after the DNC Convention.

This is getting hilarious.

First the DNC took their chairwoman’s speaker slots away from her because now there is documentation to prove Obama, The DNC, the Democrat Party Elites, Hillary Clinton’s Wall Street and foreign terrorist supporting mega-donors would not allow Bernie Sanders to get the nomination.

In the document dump it was also proven that the DNC’s Finance Chairman wanted to use Bernie Sanders Jewish faith against him.

Now Debbie Wasserman Schultz will have to “resign” after the convention. Resign being code for fired.

When the documents were first reveled the Democrats tried to blame the Republicans which were immediately proven to be another Democrat Party lie. Then they tried to blame the leak on the Russians and tie Donald trump to Putin. That too has been proven to be a lie.
THE Democratic Party is seriously fractured. Hillary Clinton’s coronation will happen and The DNC made it happen regardless of the citizen’s votes during the primaries.

Most of the WP liberals were all in for Bernie Sanders and they got screwed by the Democratic Party Establishment. Not surprisingly we have heard nothing from the screwing the WP liberals got. They just rolled over and took it.

Isn’t this fun to watch?

Just before the Republican Party Convention in Cleveland the Democrats and their corrupt liberal lackey’s in the media said:

1.) There would be massive protests both inside and outside the RNC Conventions – it did not happen.
2.) Then they said there would be violence at The RNC Convention – it did not happen.
3.) Then they said there would be riots at the RNC Convention – it did not happen.
The Republican Party, including every member of the party’s leadership came together to support Donald trump.

Ha ha.

It just keeps getting better!

Donna Brazile, vice-chair of The DNC and a well known racist will take over for the now discredited Wasserman-Shultz. The choice of Brazile makes perfect sense for the Democrats because white people are fleeing that party like a fart in a small safe-place. Bernie Sanders so hates her he has often called for her to resign from The DNC.

This is going to be a fun week.

This is hysterical. We hand Ferris Muler's week (Muler? Muler?) off while the Republican convention played out like an unscripted Moty Python skit, and now he is back to take Democrats to task. What a moron.

And it just keeps getting better kids.

After The DNC's corruption is exposed yet again, Obama came out today in full support of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz

Now Hillary Clinton has named her a co-chairwoman of her campaign.

Still the Bernouts cower.

Yes, a failure and a racist.

Donna Brazile was a field director for Michael Dukakis’s campaign. He lost.

She was also campaign manager for Al Gore. He lost.

Donna Brazil is well known for her vitriol for Affirmative Action repeatedly saying that blacks deserved acceptance to Colleges and Universities over whites.

Then she was appointed to run the DNC’s vote fraud operation and fully supported Obama and George Soros’s voter fraud machine known as Acorn.

She is the perfect pick to lead the Democratic Party.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz to resign immediately after the DNC Convention.

The Trump campaign could take a lesson from this about how to handle a screw up. Admit the mistake and take immediate corrective action. If the Trump campaign had done this the morning after the Melania speech scandel broke it would not have dominated the news during their convention.
