She didn't win anything, she is the incumbent and was unopposed so I'm not sure what your point is or if you just don't understand the election process. Same as Senator Bill Nelson and several other Republican Congressmen.

As a Floridian, I am excited about Gillum. It's the opposite of, uh, "doubling down" - Graham would have been the safe play, Gillum is pretty inspiring. Hopefully we can turn around the mess that Rick Scott and his administration have left in Florida.

Rick Scott's administration has not only ignored the environmental impact and causes of algae blooms on Lake Okeechobee, but rolled back regulation that protected it. Now it's damaging everything from the canals to the coral reefs in the Gulf and Atlantic that the canals empty into. It's pretty appalling.

I grew up in Madison WI which sits on 3 large lakes (well, technically 4). Every summer there would be huge algae blooms from fertilizer run off, but Madison managed to fix the problem over the years and clean them up. Lake Okeechobee is much larger and shallower, so there are always flooding possibilities, but Rick Scott's answer has been to just dump the water into the canals and ocean and ignore it. Dude has done some serious damage.

The corruption case has nothing to with Gillum.

While there are many Cuban immigrants who are traditionally staunch Republicans, that's a gross generalization. There are plenty of DR and PR who haven't forgotten Trump abandoning them after last Summer's hurricanes.

Also, you need to look up the definition of "socialism" when compared to social programs like public schools and roads, etc.
