CONTEST PRIZE IS $100,000 Could you do it?

NO, you do not need to be a brainiac to win. You just have to have incredible strength and inner resilience. Doing what? Giving up your smart phone for one year. You could be paid $10,000 per month for each month you survive doing this. You have to last at least Six Months.
Smartphones have become an important part of our lives. However, you can earn $100,000 if you can live without it for a year. Vitaminwater has announced the contest. The deadline to enter is January 8, 2019, according to CNBC.
Those who wish to test themselves can enter the contest by posting on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #nophoneforayear and #contest, and outlining what they would do if they couldn’t swipe or scroll for a year.
The contestants will be given a 1996-era cell phone. People who last six months will get $10,000.

I could do it no problem. Am almost cured of the web - this is the only social site I have ever visited. Other than all the wonderful live music I have found, the internet sucks. Have been playing guitar, reading books, hiking. Surprising, the contest lets you have a PC.
Was interested, so I checked. The contestants are selected, there won't be many chosen so chances are very slim - it is a hype.

So if I don't have a smart phone do I automatically get paid?

That's right, all the successful contestant must do to go scroll-free and claim the $100K prize is not use his or her smartphone — or anyone else's — for 365 days.
But first you must be selected. Enter the contest by sharing a post on Twitter or Instagram explaining what you'd do instead of scrolling through social media posts. All legal residents of the United States who are 18 or older and own and use a smartphone are eligible to enter, Vitaminwater said, adding that applications will be judged on originality, brand relevance, humor and other factors.
The seemingly simple challenge includes reverting to a 1996-era mobile phone for an entire year. No smartphone or tablet use is permitted, even if the device belongs to a friend. Laptops and desktop computers are OK to use, as are voice-activated devices like Google Home or Amazon Echo.
The contestant who only lasts nine months will receive $10,000.
Twitter users peppered the platform with submissions this week, with many hopeful winners earnestly vowing they'd use the time to bond with family, learn new languages, and improve their relationships.

From the official vitamin water website.
Remarks: So you need to post what you would do with the money and then you can become a contestant if they select you. You can still use a laptop or desktop computer so you are not totally out of the electronic world.

You have to enter by posting on big social media sites. From there Vitaminurine can easily figure out who the best candidates are, folks who are always on social media. They will choose a few, those who will obviously make a great story, most likely to crack. The media will play it up, it will just be more ridiculous reality show hoohah, Vitaminurine will sponsor and make millions. They are just hiring a stooge for an ad campaign.
Unless you are one of those types, don't bother. They aren't going to choose some guy who lives under a bridge who has never logged in in his life and has won this moronic contest already.
