Heads up in the yahoo pick'em, just for fairness to tell everyone, it looks like yahoo has two underdogs favored. You may want to look back over things, I mean it's only like a once in a decade type chance to take Alabama +7.5!!!!

Any time it says "off" that means just pick the straight up winner (don't leave it blank).

Enjoy the first Saturday of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michigans defense looked really good. Just need some better play from the QB.

To bad Western Michigan couldn't beat USC

Wonder if a IAA team is going to beat an IA this week. Probably. YSU at Pitt, James Madison at ECU, E Was at T TEch, UNI at ISU? Wazzou has lost to a IAA two years in a row, they face Mont St.

How about Howard beating UNLV as a 45 point underdog? Largest underdog ever to win outright.

$100 money line on Howard to win would have paid $71,000.

Crazy comeback by UCLA. Looks like those two defenses will be giving up a ton of points this year. How do you bounce back from giving away a 34 point third quarter lead?

Hey now, great weekend so far of football and more football. Sucks living on the west coast of Canada. We got VTech game last night but no UCLA comeback game or USC close one the night before.

Did anyone here join AJ's pickem pool this year?

ROLL the QUACK!!! Nebraska better know how to play D this coming Sunday!!!

Yeah Nebraska at Oregon will be a good one!!

Game vs Ark St was entertaining, a little too close for comfort for those in the land of corn huh coot?

Where the heck is stratdal at?!?!...to be a UCLA fan and be so so low during that game not only to be brought back to life but served one of the best comebacks ever! Maybe he is still speechless.

Agree IPowrie, I finally have access to PAC 12 Network this year and was keeping an eye on that WM game. Broncos look like a team to be reckoned with again this year. Wish they could've upset those overrated soft Trojans.

How about those boys in blue...or I mean maize. Michigan D may just be better than last year, they looked pretty fast vs that SEC speed on O. Then again, Florida is never that good on O even when they are at full strength these days.

Bill's atop the yahoo pick'em. Some week! Not sure what to take away from the UK-SMiss game. Your thoughts appreciated if you are around. The OL and running game would be a disappointment, but hey, atleast Cats didn't lose to the Golden Eagles this year - probably because SMiss is down at QB compared to last year.

I know Vegas lines UNLV now, not sure they would've offered that money line or it was online only. Either way maybe check out what kind of wagers were made ,as in like any of the UNLV coaching staff!

Baylor is probably really happy since that Howard upset is taking attention away from Baylor losing to Liberty as a 31 or something dog. Liberty coached by Turner Gill.

I was there until the middle of the third. Totally disgusted by UCLA's performance (same crap as last season) and decided to leave. When we get to my truck and turned on the radio, it was 44-24 and Mrs. Strat said, "Watch the Bruins comeback since we leaving now." Well that's what happened. Congrats to the team and coaches for not giving up. It also helped that aTm's starting QB had to leave the game which helped UCLA defense the run better.

While I'm glad the Bruins came back, they still can't run the ball, OL sucks, and the defense still gives up big plays. I'm hoping the coaches decide to just put Josh in the shotgun full time, keep a back to help block and let him throw the ball. He's smart, throws quick, and has some decent receivers. It's the only way I see UCLA moving the chains.

Lots of Aggie fans and they were fun to talk shop with. I'm sure they had a very long flight home but I know the feeling. That's football.

GO BRUINS! BEAT THE WARRIORS!

Well, I wasn't at all surprised by the outcome as I had my $$$ on Arky State.

We played a base defense and didn't blitz at all until the final series. Hard to cover guys if the front three aren't putting any pressure on the QB. I've thought all along we're a 7-5 team. I do think it's a huge overreaction to make us +14 this weekend. Oregon will win but it'll be closer than that. 38-31 perhaps.

It doesn't help that right now I don't think we have the needed positional personnel for the switch to the 3-4.

I hope the Bulldogs beat Notre Dame this weekend. Last time we beat them, we had a national championship.

I think I was about 12 or 13 when that happened. 😛

But it's not like they play each other all the time.

Read about the Nebraska D vs Ark St, seemed Diaco wanted them to give up yards until the Red Zone, banking on them making a mistake to end their own drives. He says he was actually pleased with how the players performed except for some missed tackles that turned normal plays into big gainers.

The 14 pt spread vs Oregon is just ridiculous. Now Oregon may win by that or more, but to line it that way, as if we are dealing with the 2014 Mariotta led Ducks or something, and remember how bad that Oregon D has gotten? But that line got to 14 from a much lower opening number, I saw it at 10. Game of Year line had it -7. Just don't think we really know enough about either team to justify such a huge jump in the spread. Both offenses should do well, I'll give the edge to Oregon on O. And for Neb on D, I think their gameplan will be alot different this week. Playing bend-don't-break vs Oregon O will be bad for their health.

Georgia at Notre Dame, Auburn at Clemson, Oklahoma at Ohio State and Stanford at USC. All 4 awesome games all on the same time. Get that remote control ready to channel surf!

We don't get the Stanford/USC game here in Chicago so I guess I only have three to pick from.

Most of the Big Ten (14?) games are early. The only mid afternoon game I might have an interest in is Penn St/Pitt. Good rivalry match up. But I am sensing a nap in my future at that point.

Stanford/USC should be on Fox national network.

For all those good night games, I am going to have a financial investment in the New Mexico State at New Mexico game...Battle of I-25. It's streaming live on facebook, just something else to divide up my attention!

Yup!! Sprinkle some ML in as well!

I saw alot of positives out of Aggies in week 1. NM will be normal self on O under Davie, but they are replacing 8 of their top 9 tacklers including Cox who led them in tackles the last 4 years and an all new secondary! State won last year, 2015 State was leading throughout until QB Rogers got hurt in the 4th. Rose DNP last year, in 2015 he ran for like 260 on the Lobos. Last 3 years the games have been decided by a total of 13 pts. They have this kid Demby who gained 40 lbs this offseason! He had 5.5 TFL vs Az St week 1, didn't play much last year. I'm really high on New Mex State right now!

Who bets on a team from New Mexico?

Hell, who even knows where New Mexico is? 😛

Haha, well I think I could point on a map to where Albuquerque is, not sure on Las Cruses though!

I love games like that, truth be known, I would rather watch a game like this than a Oklahoma-Ohio St for instance. I love all of it, but if I had to choose I'd rather get into the midmajor games. Some day when I get fed up with all the noise in major college football I could see myself just following FCS/IAA.

A couple of good Big Ten games on TV this morning (games start at 11:00 here).

Northwestern/Duke: The nerd bowl.

Iowa/Iowa State: Great rivalry game.

The Michigan and Wisconsin games are also on then but they should be blowouts.

Kicking myself for not taking Cincy. Figured Michigan would kill them but not by 34.5. They never beat anyone by that much.

Had a realistic chance to tie things with several minutes left. Talk about two completely different halves.

Went 6-2 with dogs yesterday against the local sports accountant, finished off by two outright winners with Minnesota & San Diego State. 2-2 on favorites. Smile

Pained me to bet K State, but, they were playing some gal named Charlotte. Had to take 'em. 😉 😛

I started out very good. Then the late games occurred. Ugh! So I didn't do well in the pool but I did win a few bucks so the day was okay. Sill mad at myself for not betting against Michigan. And Wisconsin for that matter.

Nice to see Ohio State lose. Smile

That was a GREAT weekend of cfb!

Now where the fuck is Bhawk at? First his Chiefs beat the Patriots then his Sooners beat the Ohio State Bucks on the road....c'mon man I know you are out there. Can't possibly get any better at your house from a football perspective! BOOMER...

The pick'em league is set to drop our lowest week, I don't know why it isn't but it might just do it at the end or something.

I never brag about the Chiefs, and ya, that was a helluva start to the season.

But, beating Ohio State in the Horseshoe?

PLANT THAT FLAG!!!
