Lee to the NFL? At one point at Tulane and in the transfer to Nebraska he was believed to have some pro-potential, but this season certainly ruined those chances. I guess he will probably land on a camp or preseason roster and might be able to make a practice squad or emergency QB at some point. It is really funny, if you have ever looked at some of the names on NFL practice squads, you would never believe the QBs still getting an NFL paycheck.

He could've transferred again, to try and improve himself, probably would've had to have gone to a IAA.

I imagine he knows how much Frost's system requires a mobile, dual threat QB and could pretty well assume if he stayed, little to no playing time next year. Only thing I can deduce because he just isn't very good.

That last meaningless touchdown cost me on the O/U.

Somewott like the last play of the Philly/Oakland game the other night. I would have tied had they kicked the point after but I can understand why you wouldn't. That affected my standing in our NFL Pick Em pool. Could cost me a handful of C notes.

😮

There have definitely been more of those end of the game lateral BS scores this year than ever, college and pro! Last year there was a phenomenon of teams running back onside kicks for scores. This year D scores on lateral plays. It's always something screwing with you one way or the other.

Reminds me of a UK bowl I bet on when they played Syracuse. UK lost. They had a really good TE that year and he got hurt early in the game, ugly injury, like dislocated elbow or something. UK was in shock without him and Cuse rolled...and I lost.

Sounds like you and neb are on opposite sides of this one. Wonder what the spread was for each? My sports accountant started at WF -3 but went to 5 today. Every favorite went up. NC State to -7, N'Western from -8 to -10, Utah State to -5 1/2 and Ohio State from 7 1/2 to 8 1/2.

Sadistic side of me would have loved a 55-55 overtime for WF & A&M. 😛

Alot of line moves today.

When bowls came out December 3rd I knew based on the matchups and lines I was going to be firing on dogs today.

I started with a small wager on WF, but -3.5 which lost. I hate betting favorites and losing! But I unloaded on both UK and NMSt plus pts and MLs. NMSt has easily been my favorite team this year for spot betting and are a great story. The UK game had alot of weird stuff going on, but shot to win with a 2pt play at the end, that would've been huge as I went full C-note on both those straight up MLs. Atleast NMSt came through. I did lose a curiosity bet on ASU and had more than I would've liked on USC +10, which had several chances to push in the second half. That OSU O is pretty bad. Alabama and Clemson or Georgia could easily shut that Buckeye O out.

You should have bought a half point. I've started to do that recently when a line is 3.5 or 7.5, regardless of picking the favorite or underdog. At least on my betting site all it does is change the payout a little. I don't have to actually lay out more cash to do it.

Haven't been doing too well with the college games this week although I can still win some $$$ in my pick em pool. As such, I looked up the lines on cricket today:

Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat. Adelaide is a big favorite but I kind of like the Brisbane Heat. There are no lines so I guess you should take the favorite.

If I do okay today I am going to put something on the cricket game. Match? I don't know what it's called.

I was going to say the same thing!

I asked my "accountant" if I could bet some NASCAR for the Homestead race. I did really well. He said "no more NASCAR". It was funny because he knows nothing about NASCAR and it was like I was stealing or something.

Since I go the old school route I don't bet online. Many years ago I did open a couple accounts, but I like the relationship with the guy. It really is a great relationship. Alot of trust and I really value that.

I used to ask if I could pay double juice for a 1/2 pt line move, but I stopped several years ago. I could tell he didn't like it much since nobody else he has was doing it. It kind of complicates things on his end when different people have different numbers that otherwise aren't available. Now I just watch the line moves constantly as the game approaches and when I see something get to a number I like I take it. I've won by the 1/2 and lost by the 1/2 plenty of times. Sucks when it is on a key number, but I know what the price is going in so I either buy it or not.

Couldn't believe how pedestrian both offenses were last night in the Cotton.

A defensive score and a 19 and 15 yard "drive" for three of the four tds.

Darnold's hand signal for the snap was allowing Ohio State to time their blitzes and regular pass rush to perfection. I found it difficult to believe that USC couldn't have changed that up to slow down the pass rush. It's no wonder Darnold had little time to find an open receiver. And when they did get in the red zone, OSU just ratcheted up their blitzes and pressure.

Today I'm on Penn State and mulling Miami. It's really a home game for the Hurricanes.

Wisconsin had a shot at a National Title and now doesn't. Still, their game is basically a smashmouth, physical running game which plays well under all conditions. Miami had a shot at a National Title and now doesn't. Will they play with any fire?

Big Ten teams are winning their bowl games, so, I could still swing to the Badgers, or, just leave it alone.

Interested in other perspectives on Central Fla vs. Auburn. Tigers obviously have the most talent, but will they care all that much? They've lost three times and blew their shot at playing for it all. CFU will definitely play with fire, they're still angling for an unbeaten season. Thoughts?

I lean Miami myself. I think with the way this season has ended, I do think they care today. Wisconsin always cares and you get the same Badger team just about every week every year. So they will be tough. Miami is at home, helps the preparation, takes away some of the "specialness" of the bowl for the Canes players. One thing, this will not be a typical home game for Miami. I doubt the U fans care as much as I hope the players do. There will be a TON of red at that game tonight. Badger fans will be very loud.

I have a tough time on the UCF-Auburn game. I have an affinity for underdogs and always want a team like UCF in this situation to do well. It is going to be hard. You know 'A' game vs 'A' game, Auburn should win somewhat easily. There is a history of some teams not caring in bowls like this..aka Alabama vs Utah and Alabama vs Oklahoma. Lots of others, those are the highest profile examples. I don't think that Auburn has the annual expectations and goals that Bama does so I feel they should generally be more motivated than some might think. Auburn also lost their bowl game last year, so I think that helps their potential motivation. UCF should be really up for this game, attempting to finish undefeated is a really big deal. But you have to wonder if the distractions of the staff recruiting for Nebraska, traveling back and forth to Lincoln and other recruiting areas might've taken some focus off of the bowl practices. Did you hear, a UCF kid was talking shit? Auburn responded with all the right answers, but it might make Auburn stay a little more focused and care a little more in the prep leading up to the game.

The biggest advantages are going to be LOS obviously, and the depth. In most scenarios you would expect Auburn DL and OL to make life really difficult on UCF. UCF does have quality players, this isn't exactly Georgia vs Hawaii. UCF has some dudes to compete, but LOS is going to be a big challenge. Frost is going to have to create one hell of a gameplan to put Milton in situations to succeed and not allow Auburn's strengths to control the game.

As much as I enjoy finding ML dogs to bet on, I can't ML UCF with real money. +10? well, I'd be more willing to go there, but not with a ton of confidence. What I might do is put my minimum amount on UCF +10 and see where the game is at halftime. There may be a chance to get more value on UCF if they are hanging in there, but not behind the number. Or UCF does show up and keeps it close, you might be able to get Auburn onsale in the second half.

Hard game to predict.

I took Wisconsin to win straight up but I think if I had to put money on the game I would take Miami and the points. Right now it is 6.5 and I can buy that extra half point as I mentioned before. Miami at home getting a touchdown against a team that doesn't score a lot seems like a good pick.

I REALLY like Penn St. They are good on both sides of the ball. Washington can put up some points (as they normally do) but I like the program at PSU. For whatever that's worth.

I'm on PSU also, got them yesterday -2 1/2.

Wisconsin is -7 here, am thinking about over 45 since everyone around here is going under. Wisconsin usually dominates the second half by averaging 17 points more per game. Mix in a few turnovers by both teams, I'm taking a shot on the over.

Penn State went to -4 1/2 here, thought about an in between but think I'll stay with State. The ESPN commentators all picked Washington.

I know you are Michigan fan Lee, but it surprises me to hear you say you like PSU program, most Big Ten fans I've ever been around hate Penn State unless they are Penn St fans. I think it dates to when they joined in 94 and won the league the first year. Then there are other reasons of course.

I am on Washington.

The angles I can see for PSU is that UW often starts slow and is not great away from home. Their O is also not as good as 2016.

I don't think PSU D is very good actually. Neither is PSU OL, PSU OL is actually bad in my opinion, it is why Barkley has struggles so much getting hit in the backfield often for loss. I do like McSorley, he is a gamer and I would take him on any team.

The special teams matchup should be quite interesting. Barkley on KOs and Pettis on punt returns for UW (all time TD ret leader).

I will give PSU some edge to be more creative with their O, they have to be for success because the shit they rolled out in the regular season isn't going to work vs UW.

I think UW D will be among the best PSU has seen and UW, if they utitlize all their weapons (TE Bryant is back from injury - frosh AA), they can definitely test the PSU D like few teams have.

Then there is Peterson. Peterson is great coach. While Franklin is a douche, he too is a good coach. But not sure it gets much better than Peterson outside of the obvious top 3 (Saban, Meyer, Dabo).

Should be good. Penn St going to be hungry for this win. But UW embarrassed in bowl last year, I think they show up and want it too. Hopefully we are entertained for full 60.

Can't take the over on that. Who knows, I could be wrong. Wisconsin just doesn't score that much.

Regarding Penn State, I did have an issue when they got into The Big Ten. Who cares, they are up to 14 teams now anyway. But Michigan people don't really care about the fact that they are in The Big Ten.

Rutgers. Really?
