Thank You! Thank You! I don't know what to say! Oh wait I do know what to say..."I won, I won, I won, hot dog I won!"

Weird the Fighting Irish started out ranked very high and then crashed and burned, reminds me of the time they played Oregon State.

OVER RATED!!!!!

Being a Michigan fan, I am obligated to dislike both teams in the ND/OSU game. Having said that, I am really looking forward to this game. If OSU isn't too upset about not finding a way into the big dance, I think they will destroy ND.

There are several games I am interested in this year.

BYU/Utah
North Carolina/Baylor
USC/Wisconsin
Florida St/Houston
Northwestern/Tennessee

Those are a few. On the other hand, there are a few clunkers. I can't believe there are three teams with losing records getting a bowl bid. 😮

Should be a fun few weeks!

If you are interested in a bowl pick'em pool email me at ducksfanabb@yahoo.com

I will send you pick'em sheet and address for pool coordinator.

20 bucks to enter a team. Last years pool had a $1200 payout.

And that's Yankee bucks not .75 Loonies.

Sheets are due next Friday.

I played their season long league which was $35 to join and I won a week which paid $75. The guy running the league, AJ, was quick to contact me and send me the winnings. So anyone who is on the fence about sending some stranger money for a pool I can vouch for the reputableness of their league.

I've been wondering this since the lines first came out...

Why is the O/U on LSU-Texas Tech so freaking high? 73? At one point it was 76.5? 😮

LSU's defense wasn't that bad...

Very few gimme's in this year in confidence pool.

Note to any newbies in pool, you can change up the order on the sheet. Idea is to put more confidence points to the games you feel are locks for whichever team to win.

I need to sit down and let everything sink in, I haven't really considered who I like in any game.

On this one, LSU's D isn't the strength it has been in year's past. I'd have to figure that the floor for TTech is 24-27 and would probably expect them to be in the 30s. LSU's D isn't that bad, but TTech's is. I believe they are near the bottom in run D out of 128 teams and we know what LSU wants to do and can figure that LSU can hit upper 30s to 40s maybe. Might be able to expect a similar showing like the WKU at LSU game as being a way this game might go down. WKU is a hell of a team, but they didn't play well that rainy night in Baton Rouge. I think TTech should do ok though and maybe hang in the number.

I'm assuming lots of my picks are going to be game day decisions.

Lets see some predictions on the big Weiner.

Semi Final winners - Oklahoma and Michigan

reasoning - MSU D will stop Henry, MSU has played 4 big games this year and played well enough to win them all. Great defense and a solid QB will lead the way.

Oklahoma is an unknown but I take anyone over ACC winner. No faith in that conference, I like Tiges coach but think Boomer Sooner is due.

Champion - MSU

Great team on both sides of the ball with a great coaching staff.

Champion - MSU

Great team on both sides of the ball with a great coaching staff.

I would take MSU with the pts right now. That game is going to come down to QB play. Alabama has the better D front 7, but I'm not sure it is a huge advantage. OLs may be even. Of course Henry is outstanding, but he gets a bunch of his yards as Alabama wears down inferior offensive teams and just keeps feeding him the ball. I think MSU matches up better on both O and D than alot of Alabama's opponents have this year. Receivers are pretty even, maybe TE edge to Bama. Both teams may have opportunities through the air so I think the QB that makes the most plays or the least mistakes is going to win the game. Cook has had some really strong games and then he's had some games under 50% completion. Coker has had some good games, especially as the season evolved, but there is something about him that I can't go all in on. Coaching staffs are both top shelf. Might come down to special teams. I'm expecting a close competitive game and think the 10 pt line is way too generous.

No idea really on Oklahoma-Clemson yet. I had not been sold on OU's D and OL most of the season and I'm still not sure I should be really. The Oklahoma State game is a really strong indicator towards OU, but the TCU game is not. I guess that game got competitive once Mayfield went out, but TCU with their very poor back up QBs shouldn't have been able to stay close and Mayfield doesn't play D so his absence in the 2nd half doesn't speak well to TCU nearly being able to get that win. Give me enough points and I will put my money on Clemson. I probably like Clemson with the 4 now, but get even more interested with every half point it might climb. Clemson D may be getting overlooked here. We know for sure that Venables > Mike Stoops. Hard to deny the OU skill players on O the respect they deserve though. Heard somebody say that Clemson DL stud Lawson is sackless in all the big games this year, hmmm strange. Last year's Clemson blow out and the OU "revenge tour 2015" mean little to me. I get that OU is favored, but I'd rather ride with the Tigers.

Who wins it all? Hell if I know. Hard enough to pick winners in the first games without having to project potential winner of the next game.

I would like to see Clemson or Michigan State win it personally, but don't really care all that much.

I really need to start picking games for Saturday and the immediate bowls coming.

I agree Jerry. Just one more day!

A few idle thoughts: Regarding the Michigan State game, that one I am probably going to stay away from if betting. I would lean toward MSU but not confident. The coaches know each other so well.

I think Michigan should destroy Florida but being a lifelong UM fan, I have to temper my enthusiasm. Michigan (and other Big Ten schools for that matter) have had a historic tendency to lay eggs in bowl games in warm climates. Going back to The Rose Bowl games of the 70s & 80s.

Ohio State / Notre Dame? Should be a good, not great game. Take OSU.

Northwestern / Tennessee should be fun. Really intrigued by this matchup.

And yes, I am a Big Ten fan. 😛

Bowls games begin. Good luck to all pickers and if you have a fav team. I like all four teams in the playoff. I think Stanford and Ohio St are very good as well. Oregon played well down the stretch .

First a little conference talk. Sec down this year. Not many if any great Qbs. Bama only good team. Fl good D bad O. Miss and Tn were inconsistent. To say this least. Big 10 4 good teams. The rest so so. Big 12 is hard for me to figure out. I like Ok but others were up and down. Injuries to players hurt Baylor And Tcu. Pac 12. As I said, Stanford is a quality team but others inconsistent. Org good O no much D. Usc athletic but not a great team yet. Utah has a good D. UCla shows up some. Acc is better than you think. Clemson is good as well as NC and Fl St. The rest so so to bad.

Playoff. Bama and Mich St are similar . I think Bama has better players at most positions but not QB. Mich St finds a way to win and won there four big games. A little luck against Mich and luck against them vs. Nebraska.

Clemson and Ok both have good O. I think Clemson has better D. Ok looked real good at the end of the season.

Some people think that all Bama has is Henry. We will, see if that is true. Stop Henry you stop Bama I hear.
Mich St may slow Henry but can they stop him. I say no. You can pass on Bama and if you mix it up, run some.
mich St t has good D and a good QB .

I pick Bama 23 Mich St 16.
Clem 44 OK 43.

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Mainly I just lurk here these days, but when I saw Billy I had to check in!

Alabama's Jake Coker has been one of those QB's who "don't get you beat" (a Bear Bryant-ism). He has tremendous arm power but always seems to throw behind the receiver. When I see him cock to throw downfield I always clutch my heart. This is either going to be a thing of beauty or a disaster. When it's a completion, quite often it is due to some gymnastics by the receiver. He poses more of a threat on those instances when he is forced to run the ball. He's a big, strong guy. I've seen him flatten several DB's!

I believe that anybody who has paid attention to Alabama knows that they are more than Derek Henry. By December 31, the Drake should be back in full form. Ridley is an amazing receiver. Saban has been gentleman enough to call off his dogs in the waning minutes of some of the recent games. I think that what has been revealed is that there are several aces up his sleeve.

I think BAMA's best ploy will be to go old school in a sense. Ground ball - eat lots of clock. I think the defense is as good as defense gets and will be able to keep most any offense in check. If there is a chink it's in the secondary, but we've seen some great plays even from those guys.

As far as the playoffs and my own predictions for a champion go ... I think Oklahoma might be the sleeper.

But you know I'm a BAMA guy all the way! Roll Tide!

40-6 with Clemson having Cole, hows my hair look, Stoubt at QB. The defense was also not as good last year.

Clemson DL stud Lawson is sackless in all the big games this year, hmmm strange

FSU and ND were the two biggies w/o a sack but his highest tackle totals were in these 2 games

Went 3-2 yesterday. Tough to pick a winner in an Arkansas State game. 😮

Really need MSU or Oklahoma to win it all. I bet on both even before the "final four" was announced. Got better odds, especially with MSU since they had to win The Big Ten Championship. I think Oklahoma can knock off Clemson.

Now were I a betting man, I would bet the house on Alabama. But I refuse to bet on anything with Nick Sabin attached to it.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Interesting article in today's Chicago Trib about the bowl games and the sub .500 teams getting in. Look it up.

Just wondering why some of the best Div 2 teams don't get a shot at bowls over 5 win teams?

5 win teams with big names are still big names. For instance, even at 5-7, the Nebraska Cornhuskers deserved a bowl this year, IMO. That team fought damn hard all year and easily could have been 7-5 or better if they had gotten a break here and there, and at whatever record, they are still Nebraska and plenty of people will still watch.

It's Bowl Week...who cares what their records are? 😛

Big Day for some Big Games!

Bowl pool not going so well for me - as usual. The last two weeks have seen such huge swings in my games and total, hoping for a big day today~!

Can Houston do it vs FSU?

At one point I thought Houston D was pretty good, kind of unsure at this point. Can they slow Nole RB Dalvin Cook or will he run wild? I love Greg Ward at QB for Houston and they have some pretty good skill players. Tom Herman can coach. Will be playing the +7 or better for sure and will take a shot on the +220 ML on the Cougs. Wearing my Houston shirt today so hopefully I don't have to change it at halftime if the game goes south.

Will be taking both dogs in the playoff games. I'll pay to see Oklahoma's D shut down Clemson...I don't think they can do it. Clemson might have the better D in this one.

Bama-MSU is a tough game, feel 10 pts is a little generous.

Going over in all 3 as well I expect.

Best of luck to all of you and have a happy New Year's Eve~!

Clemson and Bama. ACC. And SEC. Should be a good game. Clemson is unbeaten and is playing well. Excellent players on both sides of the ball. Their QB is very very good. Bama is Bama . Great D and can do what they need to do to win. I will go ahead and pick it. Bama 31 Clemson 24.

Since Bama beat the Big 10 champ 38 to zip, does that make Bama Big 10 champs? Clemson beat big12 champ. Acc and big12 champ.

Did the sooners spend their break beating the crap out of each other or bronc riding??? Man they had some bad injury luck yesterday.

Was surprised to hear that Oklahoma played 2nd or third string qb's from opposing teams over last three games. No wonder they went undefeated.

How did I think MSU would beat Bama??? Oregon almost beat them.

DUCKS tomorrow for all the marbles and TCU QB decides to get in a bar fight. Hope its still a good game.

Happy New Year!!! DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
