Another Trump lie and failed campaign promise comes home to roast. Why anyone believed Trump was such a genius he could negate market forces to the point he'd save big coal is a true head scratcher. No amount of deregulation and subsidies will bring back coal...

Another trump lie, bringing back coal.

Perhaps just as bad as the initial lie by Trump is the fact that Trump has cut the federal funding for programs to assist in retraining dislocated coal industry workers. I hope these workers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia realize they've been conned before they enter the voting booth in November 2020.

God forbid a US President try to help save jobs in a sector in the economy that is facing serious downward forces. All those people heard the same promises by lots of campaigning senators and presidents. They are not going to abandon the President.

Laughable.

Apply your scenario to the buggy whip industry or the typewriter manufacturers.

Absolutely no reason to try and prop up a dying industry.

Should teach these miners to install solar panels, it's safer and much better for the environment.

Kind of the exact opposite of coal mining.

News flash, bot boy, they already are abandoning him...Many realize now he's full of sh#t and has no more knowledge of basic economics than he does of foreign policy. They are waking up to the fact that he is just another politician con man who made promises he could never keep. Carry his water all you want, but Trump's lies and funding cuts of the federal programs designed to help displaced workers, is clear as day.

I doubt it. IMO opinion, his pining for the coal industry was just to win votes. As has always been Donald Trumps's MO, once someone is no use to him, he just forgets and moves on. Remember his promise that Mexico will pay for the wall? He's probably forgotten about it already.
