So you guys really picked a candidate just to piss off the opposition? That's shooting yourself in the foot. I usually vote because I like someone.

. . .frothing at the mouth.

Your boy in the White House is the Fanal Froth King. Brown foam flecks, bubbling bullsh!t.

Exactly right. I didn't believe the "spite vote" stuff, thought it was just liberal hoohah, but looks like folks are starting to admit it.

As I have stated previously, I did not vote for him, I'm not admitting shit.

But, I can tell you that the "spite vote" does exist. And, it proved to be very effective.

The spite vote will bite many fools in the ass. Grin

Especially during DJT's 2nd term when he'll no longer need his red hat wearers to win another term. He may hold rallies when his ego needs a boost, but otherwise, he might just let his contempt for his supporters show.

Now that is a grim prospect - and quite plausible.

Not all bad though - It is already happening, see my Trump targets Far Right terrorism thread.
I am comfortable with the Trump admin turning around and cutting down the nazis in his ranks, that he lured out of the woodwork to follow him. That rock never would have been turned over and we would never have seen them wriggling in the light of day otherwise.

I would surmise a lot of these folks are going to regret being documented out in public waving swastikas and that type of behavior.

Upshot is we have folks who often disagree all confirming existence of a "spite vote". Like I said I thought it was a butthurt liberal complaint.

The "stable genius" boasts of his undisguised contempt for leaders in the US military, intelligence, and diplomatic communities as well as global scientists, economists, and medical experts. He has equal disdain for women (especially fat ones like daughter Tiffany), morons, and veterans who "didn't get captured" in war. MAGAs don't have enough $ to stay at his hotels or join his clubs or buy his apartments so they'll be of no use to him except as extras in crowd scenes at rallies. The only people he truly admires are dictators like Xi and Putin.

I've got to agree w/Skydog that he's done irreparable damage to the legitimacy of the country's basic democratic principles and position w/our allies. That was completely predictable - not because he's an "evil" man but because he's uneducated in basic civics as well as decorum.

Perhaps a stable leader will emerge by 2024.

If he is THAT BAD why do you acknowledge that he will be re-elected in 2020?

quote:

Congressional approval of the Mexico & Canadian trade deal would be good for everyone. I guessing that is not on the left's agenda. There is not a single argument not to pass it. And if they vote, it will pass. We can't let that happen. It would look like trump was Making America Great Again.

Feigning knowledge and concern for a policy to create excuse.

Looks like Nancy is seeing the light that you don't see. She announced today that passing the trade deal is congress top priority. She absolutely HAS to do SOMETHING the American people will support after yesterdays YUGE FAIL.

You aren't selling me on this one ounce. She's a convenient excuse that Trump offered, so people could justify a spite vote.

Who is trying to sell you anything? You are set in your opinion and there does not seem to be room for any other, you've decided that is the way it is and, good for you. I am merely raising the possibility that a good percentage of voters went to the Polls to keep Hillary out of the White House and would probably do it again....You can call it whatever you like. "Spite" is a convenient way of saying "I can't believe she lost"

Because he's promising a continued effort to irritate liberals, and the high from a spite vote is too much to resist for many folks. I guess there are tons of Americans who would've sold their soul with a spite vote, but there was never a candidate crazy enough to do it, and smart enough to execute it. He and his voters make a beautiful family.

Possibly......or it could be he is MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Couldn't resist that but what I really wanted to say is that HE IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE PROMISED while campaigning. At least to the extent the Dims and the establishment (R)s will let him. THAT WILL get him re-elected.

In all seriousness, I can see the spite vote being worh it, if you are in your elderly years, had a tough life, and want to go out swinging. But if you plan on living beyond 2024, and you are conservative, then boy will you be disappointed in your future, because the Republican party will not recover from this for decades to come.

We have some pretty darn good options for 2024 also. Pence, Niki Haley, Don JR? (heads exploding!)

And how do you measure this? From what your media reports?

X2

He did what he promised. Start with the beautiful wall that Mexico was going to pay for. Those were major successes. As a bonus, his anti immigration plan put children in cages.

He caves to Putin at every turn. As torch bearing white nationalists invaded Charlottesville chanting "Jews will not replace us", Trump said there were good people on both sides. That's a start.

That is what wearing a MAGA hat stands for.

Russia Russia Russia!

Since neither of you are paying attention...

Lower taxes
Booming economy
Trade
Immigration
Non Activist Judicial appointments
Standing WITH Israel not against

The list is longer than I care to post. But these are promises he (and a whole lot of other candidates) made while campaigning. VERY FEW have actually kept these promises. I predict a landslide re-election.

Gas prices are down
The Stock market is booming

How else are you personally affected?

How could a candidate who wasn't elected keep a promise? Trump won the GOP nomination; it doesn't matter what a whole lot of other candidates said.

I'd say shutting down air travel w/an illegal Muslim travel ban in his first week in office was a fail on immigration.

The activist judges now lean right instead of left. That's on SCOTUS. There are 100 federal judgeship vacancies because Trump hasn't appointed anyone.

You're right. Your list is too long to address its errors.

How about those that WERE elected?
You can keep your doctor
You can keep your policy
Unprecedented transparency *
End the Iraq War *
Won't raise taxes on middle class
Move the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem *

This list is longer than mine. * Heck Trump has kept more of Obama's promises that Obama did!

. . .the hatred towards Obama was never about policy after all.

Why then, if not policy then what could the hatred toward Obama possibly have been about?

Wait, did you just imply that their was unprecedented transparency from the Trump administration? Really? Funniest thing I've ever read on here. The administration that doesn't even hold press conferences anymore. The only president in recent history to not release his tax returns, even though he promised to do it after his audit was complete. The first administration to onstruct their workers not to comply with congressional subpoenas. What transparency could you possibly be talking about?

I find it easy to see through it. Other apparently buy it all, and consider themselves to be Patriots while the constitution is being sh!t on right before their eyes.
