Seems that the investigation into the misappropriation of campaign funds is narrowing in on our little Czarina, aside from the incredibly lavish spending, it seems that some 40 million dollars are unaccounted for and almost impossible to trace. Oh well, nothing too good for our Little Princess..........Peace.......joe

Ah, nothing to see here.....Never mind the man behind the curtain.

I'll give Trump this much...He, his family, his cronies, etc. have certainly monetized the White House like no other administration in my lifetime. To be fair on some level all do....But this White House has sold us out to foreign enemies.

This is becoming scary given who knows how deep our adversaries have dug in...Seriously, Trump has allowed for and abetted what could be now or become possibly a foreign "Deep State" within our own government....Oh the irony. And the Republican led Congress still slumbers....WTF?

If nothing else, this whole saga makes for one hell of a reality show...Or a subject for a good novel.... 🙁

A porn payment doesn't "rise" to the level of whats being discussed in this thread. So far there is no money shot in this tape you all are watching. Just a lot of dry humping by the MSM.

That's not the Trump scandal that is being discussed here. I know there are so many Trump scandals now, they are hard to keep track of.

But since you brought it up, a judge can't accept a guilty plea unless he believes a felony has taken place. Cohen has described his involvement in terms that implicates the president as a co-conspirator. You can minimize the seriousness of this in your mind to support your "guy" all you want, but if the president was anybody else and not a sitting president that can't be indicted while in office, he would be in court working on a plea bargain right now as well.

Further I believe I heard the AG indicate she didn't want Crooked Donald & family serving on the boards of other charitable foundations in NY State, as they can't be trusted with charitable funds.

"Underwood claimed that Trump’s charity repeatedly broke state and federal laws by engaging in a decade-long pattern of self-dealing that culminated in illegal coordination with his 2016 political campaign. She alleged that Trump directed funds meant for needy causes to settle business and personal debts and boost his brand. The payments included $100,000 to settle claims against Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and $158,000 to resolve a suit against the Trump National Golf Club over nonpayment of a prize for a hole-in-one contest."

What a family - truly philanthropic people. Just ordinary down to earth giving folks. Greedy people should look up to the Trumps and their roadmap.

They even paid Baron's $7.00 Boy Scout membership fee out of funds from the Foundation. Honestly, of all the shady things Trump has done, misusing funds meant for charity (funds that other people contributed) is the lowest of the low. Sound like he is just going to have to pay a fine and be done with it, but there really should be jail time for this.

And before anyone from the "Whataboutism" crowd mentions the Clinton Foundation, if that was misused then the Clinton’s should be punished as well. However, at least the Clinton Foundation actually was a real charity and actually did charitable things, which it sounds like the Trump Foundation did not.

Well, at least now our Prez is demonstrating some form of transparency, though not willingly I am sure. It is becoming very painfully and frighteningly crystal clear, the extent of criminality and corruption in the Trump family and his administration is staggering!!! I really think he is almost beyond trying to hide his crimes, he is basically I think just saying F You, he is doing and will continue to do everything within his power to skirt the law to suit himself, obstuct justice, abuse and manipulate our governmental branch and judiciary system and sh!t on our Constitution.
When the full extent of his crimes and corruption come to light, I think it will be unfathomable, almost bottomless, a few People or agencies may have an interest in investigating and revealing all his crimes, most of us will have given up long before that..........Peace..........joe

This isn't news. Had anyone really been listening to Trump long before he ran for office and during the primaries, they would've known that DJT is a corrupt preening egotist who has spent his career using shell companies, bankruptcies, tax dodges, and payoffs to do business. He's not alone; he's just louder w/more press. He's not doing anything creative or ingenious or demonstrating any business acumen. His motto has always been FU to anyone who doesn't play his way.

He doesn't grasp that he's no longer in business. He's in government. There's a whole set of rules he doesn't know, doesn't know how to game, and doesn't have any connections. Without any expertise, he's relying on the mafia model - loyalty/reward - and doesn't realize he is now in the world of criminal rather than civil law. He's playing catch-up & he doesn't like it.

Chris Matthews said that Trump could resign in a deal to save his children from being harassed and possibly facing jail time due to Mueller and those FBI investigations. It is a covert way to get him to resign.

Remarks: Certain groups of people will go to great lengths to get Trump out of the Presidency. Look at all the tactics they have used already.

It is a covert way to get him to resign. Now Matthews is NOT saying that Mueller has anything on any of the children or that this is a deal in the works, he is saying this could be an outcome or resolution to the problems facing Trump. I think Trump would just fight even harder if they try a tactic like this.

Yeah, there are people out to get Trump. No doubt about it. But wrong is wrong. They aren't making things up. Trump has always been and remains his worst enemy, either now with his words and actions, or in his pre-White House days. You just have to wonder how much he regrets ever running for President.

I feel like anybody supporting Trump at this point is completely ignorant of what he's done or they simply don't care about corruption. I find it laughable how the same people who used to complain about criminals getting off on a technicality now want to stop the investigation calling it an expensive witch hunt that keeps finding witches and has brought in more money than it cost. With all the crap that Trump throws at Mueller on a daily basis, Mueller keeps responding in a professional manner, keeping quiet and just doing his job. That just makes him more credible and shows he's above the partisonship.

They keep saying he has done so many things but he has not been indicted, if he has, why can't they prove it? Just asking.

You can't indict a sitting president. They can do so after he leaves office. But Cohen is getting 3 years for campaign finance violations that he testified he was conspiring with Trump to do. This should be easy to prove. Cohen will testify and their are tapes from meetings. If Cohen gets 3 years, Trump should get the same. These are state charges from NY, so he can't be pardoned.
And this isn't even the part that Mueller is investigating. There is still the matter of Russia and obstruction of justice that Mueller is investigating that we really don't know what will be dug up, and the NY state investigation of Trump’s fake charity. We know he broke the law with his charity, but that might be settled with a big fine. Mueller is being very professional and not much has been leaked, but it is hard to imagine that Trump surrounded himself with so many shady people that he could have possibly remained clean.

Some suggest the idea that a sitting president can't be indicted is not correct as there is nothing specific in the Constitution that supports this idea. The Department of Justice does however follow such a rule. But the rule is their own and has never actually been tested in court.

Which is why the Cavanaugh appointment is of such importance and is the only reason, some suggest, that Trump actually chose him from the list of more qualified judges given he publicly stated his support for not allowing an indictment of a sitting president prior to being nominated.

So in essence, choosing Cavanaugh was, once again, all about Donald Trump and not what was actually best for the nation or the court as a whole. It's always about what's best for Little Donnie after all....

I don't know who "they" are, but we don't know that DJT HASN'T been indicted by the SDNY. Court documents identify Individual-1 aka DJT as Cohen's partner in 2 felonies. It's entirely possible that he's been indicted under seal & no one knows. If that's been done, the statute of limitations is tolled & DJT can be indicted once he leaves office even if the SOL normally would've run.

Mueller's final product will be a report not an indictment. He refers CRIMINAL charges to whatever jurisdiction is appropriate.

Meanwhile, the NYS AG is investigating DJT plus various organizations & family members that could result in criminal charges.

The criminal justice system doesn't move at the 24/7 media pace & that's a good thing. Prosecutors investigate crimes thoroughly before they bring charges. They need evidence sufficient for conviction. If there's just smoke, they stop. If there's fire, they indict.

Does anyone have information on the numbers that matter? How much the charity collected and how much it paid out? Large charities conduct thousands of financial transactions daily. Mueller is interested in a porn payment instead of the big picture. The charity will reemerge with better control and oversight. Remember, the NY feds locked up Martha Stewart too, which was pointless and huge waste of time and resources.

No, the Trump Foundation is closed by order of the court. It's assets will be distributed to other charities and the entire Trump family have been banned from serving on the board of any other charity. They also face millions in fines. I can't tell you how much they have taken in and how much they have paid out, as I have not seen those numbers. I did see the the value of the charity as it stands now, but I can't remember the amount. If I remember it was around $2.5 million, which is small for a billionaire. The Trumps haven't put money into it for years, so it is mostly other people's money.

As for Mueller and the porn payment, I don't think Mueller is focusing on that at all. That is all being dealt with by NY state. I think Mueller's focus is on Russia, obstruction of justice, and anything else that he may have turned up during the investigation.
