Bernie Sanders slams billionaires, gets reminded he owns 3 houses

You really have quite an imagination nebby.
Thank you. 😉
I like Bernie. I respect him. I have different ideas and views on some things than he does obviously, but then we align closer on other things. On this wealth/having too much of something/free stuff thing...there is what is practical and what is ideal in terms of philosophy. How I have interpreted some of Bernie's comments through the years have led me to certain conclusions, your views obviously differ in that regard. If Sanders had been elected President we would get a certain shift and push towards one direction, but it wouldn't be what he sees as ideal because that isn't realistic. Just like President Obama would've rather had single payer ACA, but that wasn't realistic.
So anyway, I think at his core, Sanders does in fact believe that some people shouldn't have so many things when other people in society aren't able to have those things or the number of those things. And he pits the haves vs the have-nots to propel his message and grand stand. It's fine, it's politics. I can call him out for doing something like that, my opinion. You have yours.
You are off the mark here. Sanders' has always said that the wealthy should pay their share in taxes and take the burden from the middle class. Your repetitive claim that he wants to give away free stuff is not what he has ever said. The exception may be college education as so many graduates wind up in debt that takes years to repay.
I don't care how many yachts or houses anyone owns. But if you can afford those things you can damn sure be able to pay your share of income tax.
The fair share term has always made me wonder, what is fair share?
Is fair share the top 1% of income earners paying nearly half (45.7%) of federal income tax as they did in 2014 reported by cnbc?
Conversely, 77.5 million households (45.3%) pay no federal income tax in 2015 according to a market watch story.
So it would seem that the rich, as defined as those making $250,000 and above already pay about half (48.9%) the federal IRS bill yet only made up 2.4% of filings in 2013.
So in terms of their share of the IRS tax receipts we are already relying upon them to shoulder the bulk of the personal filings.
