I'm happy. I like Bernie, but I didn't think he was the right candidate to beat Trump. Any purple voter could've easily used the socialist angle to justify a vote for Trump....similar to the anti-Obama sentiment. The criticisms of Biden thus far are pretty weak, and seem like desperate attempts by the right to find anything they can.

I'm feeling the same.....Now, who does he pick for the other half of the ticket? I'm guessing a minority women.

He said he was leaving because he wanted to spend more time with his three houses.

The writing's been on the wall since forever. Fellow Dem's would never sit too near Bernie for fear he might scare their corporate donors away.
To pay for all the programs that Coronavirus/Covid 19 is going to cost is going to necessitate something eerily similar to ... GASP! Socialism! What other candidate is more designed for this than Sanders?
Best of luck to Joe. The debates with Trump ... I'm stocking up on popcorn while the gettin's good!

The strategy will be to see less and less of Joe. Why put the guy out there if he has difficulty remembering where he is or risk an even worse gaffe? It will be a straight up and down vote for whether you are for Trump or you are against him. This makes sense to me as well until the debates. THere he will be on his own and need to function without his handlers or scripts.

When Trump stood on the national mall on July 4th and said ""Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do," was that a sign of cognitive decline or just 180 proof jackassery ?

Don't need to see much of Joe. Trump is Joe's best asset. All America has to do is to turn on the TV and watch 6:00 O'clock Follies and watch Big Don fumble & lie his way through attempts to rewrite his failures of how he handled Covid hoax, brag about testing (the best in the world), bash reporters, and insist that governors talk "nice" to him.

Maybe the strategy was to unify the party. They brought out the women to court the women voters. Then they left. Bernie has a lot of millenials and other disenfranchised voters, then he says well I'll support Biden. Even Yang get poor and Asian voters fired up then now out. All of them just came out to rally support for the party and then hand it over to Joe?

Repeat - Trump is Joe's best asset.

The Obama's stumping for the Democratic ticket is pretty obvious....But I don't think that ticket will include Michele Obama herself. I'm betting a competent female minority other than Michele.

I would suggest Kamala Harris but she's mostly only known in California and that state is most likely in the bag already for the Dems. Perhaps someone from the mid west or south with a high profile and a solid track record of service. Who that may be might be I don't know.

Uh, 3 properties is hardly decadent.

I think it's funny when Democrats are knocked for being financially successful.

Bernie just isn't quite ready to really go away yet is he?

Joe Biden does not need Michele Obama to beat Trump.

What Trump and several Republicans continue to not understand is that Barack Obama was not going to come out during a once crowded and competitive primary election and throw his weight behind a candidate, any candidate. Has any former President ever put their finger on the scale in that way during an active primary? Trump and some of his base seem to think there is a reason that Obama doesn't think Biden is capable. With this part of the process ending, Obama will have plenty of time to tout Biden to new heights and popularity.

Democrats are usually the one knocking others for their financial success, so when they themselves achieve it, it isn't surprising to me that they find themselves targets of criticism, warranted or misguided either way. Such is politics.

Yeah, of course, usually regarding excessive financial success and dodging tax responsibility. Bernie is hardly a 1-percenter and is for taxing the upper tax bracket. Just saying, Democrats are also capitalists and most Republicans happily spend your tax dollars.

Are you sure about that? Biden seems to be his own worst enemy.

Meanwhile, in Georgia - the primary has been pushed back to June 1. Then we get to choose between Joe and ... Kind of a moot point, ain't it?

Would agree, whoever is left by then (if not now:o ) will be mathematically eliminated anyway by delegate count

I'll still vote for Bernie in the NY primary.

He can still collect delegates for some policy leverage at the convention.

And being in NY, a state trump would NEVER win, I'll write in Bernie's name in November.

He re-opened the beaches, not the bars. He also posted that people should keep the social distancing on the beaches.

Gov. Simp, I mean KEMP began last week by calling for all to stay at home (smart move). By the weeks end, he sent a very mix-edly received message stating that beaches would be open for exercise. This was intended to allow RESIDENTS to take strolls on the beach. A smarter thing to do might've been to inform residents only (mail, e-mail, phone calls etc.). Anybody caught heading towards the sand carrying chairs, coolers, umbrellas etc might get chastised by one of a few law enforcement types present. This "beaches open" message - as sent - instead has become a beacon for all to come to our beaches.
The governor then further convoluted the message by allowing "short term rentals" (vacation hones, VRBO et al) to be open for business.
Best for last! In between, Kemp announced on world-wide television that he did not know that people infected with coronavirus who weren't showing symptoms could be transmitters.
Speculations on exactly why he started spewing such stoopidity run from the idea that he was pressured by well-oiled local property owners to the fact that he is a Trump lap dog.

I did. I'm actually considering keeping the ballot as a piece of historical ephemera. As much as I hate Trump, I'm just in no great hurry to vote for Joe.

Good for most of these states regarding being safe and moving their primaries, everyone should be able to vote safely. Well, except WI.

Governor Evers tried to do the same but the conservative court met remotely to decide voting was safe and should proceed, without extending mail in ballots. State Senator Robin Vos worked as a poll worker to ensure it was safe - of course he was head-to-toe in medical protective gear which kind of contradicts his claim. Not a good look.

Not to dwell on the morbid but the double murder they had there (Madison) earlier this week of a 50-something couple In the outdoor arboretum there is about as gruesome as it gets & must have people on edge too along w/Covid-19 - both shot in back of the head - the boyfriend of the couple’s daughter has been charged

It is, and I know a lot of people who knew Dr Potter personally and are pretty devastated. However, since it was a personal, isolated incident, I don't know anyone who is letting that affect voting since it has nothing to do with it.

If you think the stimulus package is similar to what Bernie was proposing, then you truly are a moron.
