I don't know the scale of the map in the first link, but it looks as if the fires are "relatively" close to the coast.
Some solid piping and pumps at regular intervals would get at least some water into the areas, even if it would be salt water. At least spray water in the air to get the humidity up some and possibly prevent ember fires.

Stay safe. The smoke is awful - it gets so bad here in Oregon and California, to where you cant breathe. Really grim, slow asphyxiation. Take a vacation to cleaner air if you can.

Thanks BrerRabbit, Christmas day wasn't too bad but the smoke came back at night.

Merry Christmas

It will get worse according to scientists monitoring the cosmic ray pulses coming into our earth. The next big one is 1-13-20. That one may also set off earthquakes in Italy. These pulses will cause a magnetic pole shift in 2026. There will start to be planetary wide blackouts in 2023. I will put more information up soon. Parts of Mexico will be unlivable at 125 degrees and the wall Trump wants to build will result in a humanitarian death sentence for people south of the border. Parts of Texas to be effected also the Panhandle El Paso and thereabouts. Remember the Jade Helm exercises? Civil unrest will occur.

Australia will continue to burn, even the fires are creating clouds that cause more fires.

The ice in Antarctica will melt and the secret bases down there will be exposed; the questions about hybrid alien stuff will be revealed.

Magnetic pole shift. Changes in our magnetosphere. Weather problems. Many changes in the next 5 and more years.

Is there a portal nearby? Sounds scary ... almost like climate change... Grin

House smells like smoke, it was even a little smokey inside. It's gotten better this afternoon but it's expected to be as bad as last night. The fires are generating their own thunderstorms and lightning. GF's sister had to get out of town (Canberra) with her 2yr old to Brisbane this morning. I'll be here until I can't take it anymore.

No firenadoes yet? See one, get away as fast as you can.

Blue skies today but should be really bad this weekend. Fire to the west of Canberra could get massively out of control.

It was 111F today, new record. And new fires near me in the ACT. Also power cuts possible because of heat and electrical usage.

They’re saying it’s not safe to move anywhere - “We are in for a long night and I make no bones about that. We are still yet to see the worst of it.” state Premier Gladys Berejiklian earlier today

The singer Pink has donated $500G to firefighting efforts - hopefully others who can afford to will follow suit - a horrific threat is about to get worse - best wishes

Jerry, Australia is about the same size as continental United States, so imagine those fires spread across the Atlantic coast of the US.

I hate to say this but extinction level ongoing event is what is going to happen there and is already happening. It is because of the cosmic rays coming into the atmosphere. Nobody wants to talk about it because they cannot stop it, all they can do is direct the incoming energy within a 1500 mile radius with the use of CERN, but to those with the power Australia is not a place they care about preserving.

If you think that is bad, wait till you see what happens when the magnetic pole shift happens in 2026 and the Bermuda triangle moves over a portion of the east coast.

GF off work because of air quality until Wednesday. 5 yr old went to school today but got email around noon that we should pick him up too. It is much clearer than it has been today, so we really don't understand. It even rained this morning.

https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/6567201/clearer-skies-but-smoke-will-persist/

Was 111 F on Saturday, barely 70 F on Sunday and barely 70 F today.

Thanks pops. I'm fine. On the days it gets really smokey my breathing get a little laboured my gf says, she calls me Stevie like on Malcom in the middle. I know i don't sound that bad. Headed to the casino this afternoon, won around a grand in last few months on roulette.
