Worst calls

For people watching game last sunday, the non call was deemed the worst ever. Wondering what other calls might come to mind to rival this one
First one i remember was a call at first base that determined who won the world series between Kansas City and St Louis. Completely missed call.
Any others as bad as the one on Sunday?

I thought this concise article yesterday in Yahoo sports was excellent.

Completely agree with their #1, the 1972 Olympics basketball final. Incredible incompetency and likely corruption. The ending of the Galarraga perfect game is another that really stands out.

The Raiders got jobbed wit the "Tuck Rule" in what?.....'02?
But that "Non-Call" on Sunday was the worst ever.

that's a good list, especially #1
agree with the Pats - Raiders "tuck" game
also the last play of the Giants - 49ers playoff Jan 2003

I'm with you. I don't know how the refs missed such obvious call that would have set up 1st & Goal late the game like this:

I don't think anything was as bad as that call in the '85 World Series. I liked it cuz I am a Royals fan but I couldn't believe it.
What about Anibal Sanchez for the Tigers one pitch away from a perfect game and Jim Joyce blew the call at first base?
That no call on that Saints play should have been at the very least pass interference. They didn't see the helmet on helmet hit? Hell, they call everything else.
But there are always going to be missed calls. Players screw up too. Want the replacements refs back? How did that work out?

The missed call at first on the perfect game was when Armando Galarraga was pitching.
I think he was out of the game a few years later (Anibal Sanchez had a good season for the Braves last year)

You are right Tim. He didn't have a long career but that play was awful.

The other thing about that event was Galarraga coming out the next day to present the lineup card to the home plate ump. It was Joyce's turn behind the plate. Galarraga kind of hugged Joyce and Joyce had tears in his eyes, he felt so bad.

George Brett Pine Tar Home Run Takeaway.
Billy Martin loved that call.
Roy Jones Jr. got robbed of a gold medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics , I never paid much attention to the Olympics after that disgrace.

ALL games in the NFL have "Bad" calls, this one cost the Saints a 1st down on the Rams 9 yd line with a minute 30 to play. Surely they would have run the clock down to .03 and kicked the FG that would have sent them to the SB...That, is a bad call.

the roughing the passer call on Ray "Sugar Bear" Hamilton in a 1970s playoff game -- Stabler did a good job selling it

Pats fans claim the tuck call was payback for that roughing the passer

How about any call ever against either Tim Duncan or Demarcus Cousins? Neither of them has ever committed a foul.

you do understand if that facemask was called then more than likely the score would have been 24-20 rams when the saints were making that last drive with the missed PI call? instead it was 20-20 because the rams had to kick a FG. if it was 24-20 rams the rams defense and saints offense would have played that last drive entirely different and who knows what would have happened

Billy Martin loved that call.
I think the funniest thing about that whole thing wasn't Brett's reaction which yes, was hilarious. To me it was the fact that Billy Martin had this whole thought in his back pocket for a while and was waiting for the right time to play his hand. At the moment it worked. Who knows what might have never happened if Brett didn't hit that home run.
RIP Billy. What a character.

Brees being "Facemasked" on the INT during OT. All games have bad calls ....But that No-Call was the WORST
