You drummers out there here is a tip from Ed (Johnny Carson's drummer) on how to do Buddy's whipped cream roll.
Out of Butch, Matt and Ginger, I think Jaimoe is the only one that uses traditional grip which apparently is how you have to hold the sticks to do this and I'm sure I've heard Jaimoe do the whipped cream roll .
