I just picked up the new Winery Dogs CD, Hot Streak. I admit being slightly underwhelmed on the first listen, but it has grown on me. Richie Kotzen is a great guitarist/singer/songwriter. Standout tracks for me are "Think It Over" "Fire" and "Empire". "Think It Over" maybe the best song Richie has been associated with IMO while "Empire" has one of his better solos. The CD rocks and is pretty much in the same vein as the first and that is a good thing. These guys are great live and I would love to see them again. I really believe that the Winery Dogs maybe greater than the sum of its parts and that is saying something considering the WD consists of Portnoy, Sheehan and Kotzen. There's nobody pumping out this quality of hard rock today. Again IMHO.
