Curious what the delay is with announcing the Christmas Jam. Complete speculation here-could it have anything to do with the controversial NC restroom law?

My room is also booked but I get the sense there is something going on as absolutely no hint of any announcements. Last year the pre-sale was on October 9th for VIP tickets. We are past that date.

You are worrying about nothing. Warren is simply busy with the Garcia things this wekend and the various things he is constantly doing. Info is coming.

Is the Christmas Jam always in Asheville, NC? And is that where it will be this year?

Redfish, Warren is a Asheville native. The Christmas Jam grew out of when Warren and his musician friends would return home for the holidays and would get together and jam. It started in bars grew to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium now it' sells out the Civic Center. The proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity. They have built several houses. Plus it gives the town a nice cash infusion during the holidays. I hope this helps. It really couldn't happen anywhere else.

The event is usually announced mid October. There really isn't a delay.

As far as the NC law goes, let's not forget why the event is held in the first place. As was stated earlier, it can't/won't be held anywhere else.

Is this the 29th year? The last one I attended was the 25th anniversary. I plan on making the 30th.

I went to the 20th Anniversary in 2008.

Me too. Flew from Brussels, Belgium to Atlanta and from there to Ashville on wednesday. Managed to get into the pre-jam at the Orange Peel on thursday night by making a donation for HFH. Spent the friday and saturday afternoons catching as many bands as possible during the "Jams In The Day" at "Jack Of The Wood" and "Stella Blue" and the evenings catching all bands during the X-Mas Jam which finished at 04:20 hours on friday and 02:30 hours on saturday. Few hours of sleep in between. Flew back in the late sunday afternoon. The most tiring but furfilling 5 days of my life. What an amazing extended weekend. And Ashville itself.....kicks ass!

The Friday night of the 20th anniversary was the definition of a show going too long. I guess we went not knowing that it would be after 4 AM when it ended. My wife was falling asleep during the ABB's set.

Saturday we decided to explore downtown Asheville, but I think that wore us out even more. However the lateness of the show wasn't nearly as bad on Saturday, but it could have been helped by just eliminating Coheed & Cambria's set. I think they were everyone's restroom break.

Speaking of the restrooms at Christmas Jam...
