Hi All,
Could not make last Sat night as my beloved father passed.
Got tickets for tomorrow and Sat but coming in from out of town and gonna be cutting it close Fri. I see that Scrapomatic is opening, any idea when Derek and Company will start? I think it will be helpful to hear Derek play and want to try not to miss a note. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thanks so much tumbleweed . The info about last week's start is very helpful to me.I have seen Scrapomatic many times, mostly at tiny venues .If I miss them tonight that's ok but I don't get to see Derek except when he comes NYC . Hearing him tonight will get me to that magical zone.
Thanks for the expression of sympathy, much appreciated.I am blessed as my Dad was 90 and had a good life.I was honored to be at his side when he passed and he was in peace.
He was live music lover too, but Dixieland jazz , opera and classical.Took me to my first concert ( Arlo Guthrie) as well as Zubin Mehta at New Year's Eve at Lincoln Center. I wish every person as good a life as he had.
Thanks again for the info, it will make my journey to the Beacon less stressful,
with good vibrations and gratitude,
Alison

imho, this show was off the charts. just plain and simple, the best music you can hear live in concert today.

at one point, 15 people were in unison and bringing the music to new heights.

susan t is a rock star. she brought the crowd down with her version of a little help from my friends.

kofi was over joyed with jonathan baptiste sitting in, and baptiste kind of was in awe of the music. just smiling from ear to ear.

the music was joyful and the band was all smiles. the drummers were just wonderful.

i have 100 more superlatives, but this will do for now.

What a beautiful sentiment Alison. I too pass on condolences and am happy your Pops had such a good and fulfilling life.

On a different topic - Does anyone know what the numbers next to the songs on the setlist designate?

Above all , Thoughts and Prayers, RIP.

My wife was there 2nd Row with my daughter, She saw the 1st two and all TTB tours past, She used a word I never heard her say before "Epic", She apologized saying "I'm sorry but that was the best ever", I replied "Sorry for what?"

Thanks friends for the thoughtful words.
As for last nights's show : I enjoyed the music very much and have a great appreciation for the hard work the band puts in to sound so "together". As a child of the '60s I appreciated the Boxtops and Beatles tunes. I was fortunate to see Joe Cocker perform A Little Help from My Friends and thought TTB did a great job, especially Kofi and Susan. The highlight for me was the Sly Sing a Simple Song .I never caught that band and I felt TTB gave me as close to that experience as I will ever get. I am amazed at how hard Susan pushes her voice and can perform again a following night. She is up there with the very few female vocalists that have knocked my socks off.
Was the guitar guest Eric Krasno? looked like his guitar but the guy was a few pounds lighter than I recall. I was hoping for more Derek but of course this is a different band than the Derek Trucks Band so no one need put me in my place with that subject. I noticed he had a different colored SG and to me he his tone sounded different so perhaps it is not the red one resurfaced.Any thoughts from folks on Derek's guitar/amp changes would be greatly appreciated.
Years ago when Derek was much younger I told he I liked his playing but it was his tone that really thrilled me.I asked him if it was his guitar and he said absolutely not ,it was his amp and its particular settings/wiring.I then got all involved in researching that with Joe May teaching me about pile drives and settings. I don't imagine I'll get the chance to talk to Derek or his techs now so any thoughts from you folks would be a treat for me.
Going tonight, Orch R 27 if anyone cares to say hi.
So very grateful for the continued music dialogues on this site even after ABB has retired.
Grin
