Just staring listening to The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings. Think I'll listen to all 6 cds.
Celebrating.
Going to be fun.

Win, Lose, or Draw. I love this tune. “Hittin The Note” as well.

ABB 3-28-09 at the Beacon. The almost 16 minute version of Jessica with Chuck Leavell from this show is one of my all time favorite versions; never get tired of listening to it! Grin Cool

Soundboards from 2009 40th anniv. Beacon run, including 'Walk on Guilded Splinters' from March 14, March 19 'Key to the Highway' with Clapton, 'Jesus Just Left Chicago' w/Billy Gibbons from March 24...

Gregg's 'Low Country Blues' LP.

Gregg's 'Laid Back' LP.

'Desdemona' from 'Hittin' the Note' LP and other live versions of the song, with these heartfelt lyrics which could be an epitaph for Gregg:

I make my livin'
Pourin' out my pain

'Outskirts of Town' from 'Ludlow Garage,' some scorching Duane solos there.

'Every Hungry Woman' from 'Atlanta Pop 1970.'

'Layla' jam sessions on Youtube.

And I guess just about whatever else I can get my hands on. 😛

Dickey Betts, 4/28/85, My Father's Place, NY
Western Swing doesn't get much better than this version of The Preacher that kicks off the show -- They NAIL It, & great band w/Danny Parks (fiddle) & other real good players

Grin Hey Rain! -- had forgotten that Johnny Neel is on this tape too, along with Buzzy Meeks bass, Russ Paul stl gtr & Mel Watson drums -- Johnny does some of that scat-singing on EReed that Oteil did in later years w/the ABB --
all those shows down there tho are at/near top of fave boots, like BHLT 3/83 Stonybrook, & the 11/3/74 FM live in the studio tape Hempstead NY is a treasure in that Highway Call era w/the conversation between songs etc Cool
