Ain’t that the truth. I read a quote from him somewhere once where he said the song was really good to him. (Not exact words) I’m not sure just how long he stayed in Nashville.

Some great tunes on that list.

How does he get credit for John the Revelator?

From a lyrics site:

John the Revelator
Curtis Stigers, The Forest Rangers

Exactly, it's an old blues standard/traditional song.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_the_Revelator_(song)

Some of Warren's songs are great like the songs he helped write on the Allmans' albums, on Gregg's solo album, and very early mule songs up until the Dose album.

But a lot of the new songs he has written the last decade or so, are not that good at all.

There are several more songs on the list that he didn’t write.

Catfish Blues. I’m a Ram. In My Life.

And those are just what caught my eye in a read through half he list. These are not obscure songs. This list is not accurate.

Tough to tell from looking at it here, but it could be that Warren is getting arrangement credits for old standards as opposed to actual writing credits.

For some reason I thought Warren used SESAC for performance rights, rather than BMI or ASCAP. Maybe that was earlier in his career, or maybe he changed everything that was previously SESAC administered over to BMI. Or I am confusing Woody. More likely I am just wrong.

Pretty typical that most rock songwriters create their best songs when young. Warren's just gotten older and followed the typical pattern for almost all of them.

I appreciate he's still putting out new music.

Had no idea he had worked on "Just Another Rider". One of my top 5 solo GA songs, awesome groove.

"Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House" written by Dennis Robbins, Bobby Boyd, Warren Dale Haynes.

Apparently Warren got a 3rd of the writing money on that. But with the Garth Brooks record going multi platinum it's still a pile of money.

The song was originally released by Dennis Robbins who also co wrote and released Church on Clumberland Road which was released later by Shenandoah and it was the hit just as Garth had the hit on Two of a Kind..

I'm not sure how much of Two of a Kind Warren wrote. On Midnight Rider, Gregg Allman gets 95 % of the money and Kim Payne who helped with some of the lyrics, gets 05%.

On Nobody Knows, Warren helped Dickey with some changes in the music that made the song better but Dickey wouldn't share a credit on that with Warren but he did on True Gravity which was mostly Dickey's melody line so I don't get it.

When Gregg died, one site had his net worth at 15 million and Duane Allman at 13 thousand and most of that Duane made the last 3 months of his life from the Fillmore album. A band member cut and a writing cut on Hot Lana?

Dickey made the most money of an Allman Brother and is worth 40 million. I imagine most of that came from Ramblin' Man and some from Jessica, Liz Reed, Blue Sky, Southbound, Pony Boy. They were on albums that sold over a million copies. Crazy Love was on A Decade of Hits which is over 2 million. Gregg had plenty on those albums too.

Midnight Rider is on Decade of Hits ( 2 million +), Laid Back ( 800,000), Beginnings ( 800,000) and other releases. It would be interesting to know just how much money Kim Payne has made off his 05% cut of Midnight Rider?

Keep in mind those "celebrity net worth" websites have nothing to do with reality. It's just a random site online making guesses based on whatever info they can find.

Nashville co-writes are almost always split equally among the writers, which....in most cases, is 3. You can assume Warren received 33.3% of the "writers' share" of publishing and royalties on that tune.

Two of Kind Working on a Full House has been on albums that have sold over 60 million copies: No Fences, The Hits, Double Live, The Ultimate Hits. Warren has made a truck load from this.

Thanks. Yes that alone may be why Warren is a multimillionaire. Garth Brooks records sell many millions. The Allman Brothers records just don't sell as well as one would expect. Lynyrd Skynyrd sold more records than the brothers. They had the big three in the early 70's; Fillmore East, Eat A Peach and Brothers and Sisters. All platinum with Peach over 2 million and B&S over 4 million. The only platinum release after those is 1991's 1969-1979 A Decade of Hits with over 2 million and of course it's a package of songs from the old albums.

WarEagleRK there is no question Dickey made the most money. Butch complained about it on this site several times. He accused Dickey of hogging the song writing from Brothers and Sisters forward. And mentioned Dickey refusing to allow Rocking Horse on Where It All Begins because Dickey wanted Mean Woman Blues on the album which was the only Gold new release they had after 1979's Elightened Rouges. Gold means more than 500,000 copies of course and Dickey had 5 songs on it. Butch complained Rocking Horse was a much better song. And in hindsight they should have fired Dickey after Duane died and reinvinted the front line. That by the time they got to Brothers and Sisters they were really the Dickey Betts band and now after the fax that was finally corrected. Butch use to be so critical of Gregg and I thought he was fine with Dickey but when he let it come out, he had negative feelings about Dickey that even Warren said went back to the original band. Personally I hate that because Dickey and Butch are two of my all time favorite musicians. And it's such a shame how it all ended for Butch. He was a great drummer and played in more ABB shows than anyone.

When Dickey was faxed Gregg said in an interview that Dickey was fine money wise. That he didn't need to work. And supposedly after Dickey took the band to court they had to pay him over a million dollars and give him his 1/4 owners share. Not sure if that reporting is accurate from 2004. But it is correct that Dickey won the court case.

I'm not arguing who has the most money. I'm just stating those celebrity net worth sites are rarely a good indicator of anything.

Got it. Yes how would those sites know with certainty. The one I just visited has Dickey at 40 million, Gregg 15 million, Warren 12 million , Butch zero, Jaimoe 2 million, Clapton 250 million, Paul McCartney 1 billion 200 million, Mick Jagger 300 million for a sample.

Some of their Wikipedia pages also have net worth.

According to Wikipedia and the celebrity website the richest man in NYC is not President Trump. Trump claims 10 billion but is listed at 3 billion 100 million. It's David Koch at 60 billion. David is a Koch brother. Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg is also worth far more than Trump at 51 billion 300 million.

But Trump is still worth far more than he would be if he had been in a rock and roll band.

The term prolific is probably too limiting to describe all that writing material but is the best one I can think of
