Warren and Kenny Wayne trading hot licks!

Their tones sound very similar to me but my ears are old and still ring from seeing Led Zeppelin live in 1974. Loudest show I ever saw.

Good stuff from Warren as always...
I think the loudest show I ever attended was Black Sabbath, I think it was the Heaven & Hell tour with Ronnie James Dio at St. Johns arena in Columbus... I believe it was the last concert held there....

Bet it was too loud redhouse1969. After that Zeppelin show in 1974 my hearing was shot. Ears rang for two weeks. I have plugs in my pocket at shows now. But never heard anything that loud since.
Don't know much about Kenny Wayne Shepherd. I saw him open for another band once and they were pretty good. Kenny Wayne only sang backup but the band was named for him. His style and tone seemed to borrow much from Stevie Ray Vaughn.
I saw Joe Bonamassa last year and he drew a suprisingly big crowd in Virginia so I'm thinking Joe is a bigger draw than Warrrn as well as Derek and Susan. But Kenny Wayne is not the draw they are. Is that about right?

Blackey,
Obviously they are all great players... KWS had a pretty good hit awhile back called "Blue on Black"
he came up during the aftermath of Stevie Ray & like many, it was easy to dismiss him as a clone... I think he is a pretty darn good player & has made a good path for himself.
As for Joe B being a bigger draw etc... He is a very good performer but his business side/management team is real good as well. I think they have made the strongest effort in the "modern days" of blues rock to promote all aspects of the business. Touring/recording/promotion/social media - an enormous output of content.

Yes redhouse1969. Joe B has the total operation. They do a good job of presenting him as if he is more famous than he probably is.
Edited my earlier reply. My spell check changed so many words that it took me a moment to figure out what I typed.
And I agree Kenny Wayne is a good player. Plays with a lot of energy and determination.

I agree pops42. Indeed since Warren and Derek both have stated the trigger to play slide and their biggest influence for slide is Duane Allman, if Lawler had been the 7th member or would have been hired instead of Gregg or Dickey, then you just know Warren and Derek and several others would be playing Keytar today at their shows instead of slide guitar.

Redhouse1969. Thanks for the Conan/Kenny Wayne link. Of course. I use to hear that on the album rock station here.
That Stratocaster Kenny Wayne is playing is so cool. I love the paint job on the body. Someone really did a fantastic job.
