Jszfunk dog gone it You are a Metal head. I was gifted 2 tix for this metal show, Rosemont Theatre, this Saturday night, next to last row top balcony center, I have been wavering for sure, but I believe You have inspired me to go, I haven't been much of a Metal guy for 30yrs or so, enjoyed Ufo/Saxon in 2017, with the same buddy with whom I saw the line up in '82, saw Priest in '82 also, guess I gonna go............Peace..........joe

I am somewhat in shock that Uriah Heep still exists. I think last I heard Mick Box was still in the band but can't imagine there being any other original members.

Found their website and yes, Mick Box is the only original member of Uriah Heep. Glad you were gifted two tickets crazyjoe; personally I wouldn't pay to see this. I did see Priest open for Deep Purple last year. They are still good but at my age just not much into metal anymore.

Curious to hear if you liked the show.

Rob, I would say "like" the show would be a bit overstated, my wife and I had a good time and found both bands interesting, the 4 shows, I saw in 2018 were Scott Sharrard in Macon, Dylan in Macon, Dylan in Chattanooga and then Devon''s project from last fall, all more bluesy and soulful traditional acts. We enjoyed Uriah Heep pretty well, their songs and guitar tones are more accessible and he used some cool wah wah and echo etc, their new material stands up well alongside the old. Priest was just a bit much, not bad but a bit much, I normally never would dart early but in this case after 1hr 20min, we split, roughly 20 min early, there was talk that Glenn Tipton has been appearing during the 2 song encore of "Breaking the Law" and "Living after midnight" but we split. Anyway my take matched what You said Brother robslob, fine for free but I couldn't have paid???..............Peace..........joe

I usually see Judas Priest when they play here, I may still go but the reason I haven't bought tickets is Tipton and Downing not playing anymore.... and I seen Uriah Heep at a theater show about a year ago, which was a very good show.

Thanks for the review crazyjoe. I missed the Atlanta show a few weeks ago, but was having the same wonderment about "the sound" w/ Downing & Tipton not being there. Yes, it's HEAVY metal. I really love their two guitar attack. They had the brotherhood thing going on and could play together SO well. I did see the British Steel anniversary tour a few years ago when they both were still playing, and "the sound" & vox were GREAT. You gotta hand it to them for still being able to bring the heavy metal thunder at their age - go grampa go. Was great seeing some classic heavy metal chicks & big hair, hell bent to squeeze their aged bodies into some leather!

There is a one hour show on AXS TV for a Making of Classic Albums, that goes behind the scenes of the recordings, and they do all the cool stuff in the studio where they take out everything but the guitars, etc, and the Priest show is for British Steel. They interview them all along the way, and talk about how they came up with the music. Great series if you have this channel. Was really cool hearing the guitar parts separated.

Rob, hope you've been doing well my friend. I've still not made it back to Cali, but am glad you are doing well these daze. I am spending Memorial w/e w/ the fam down along the Emerald Coast of the FLA panhandle. Some may call it the Redneck Riviera, but we're a bit tucked away, on the outskirts of crazy town ; -)
