UPDATE Stevie Nicks and The Pretenders annouce tour, and a new release ,hear new single

Stevie Nicks will hit the road next month in support of her most recent solo album, and she’s bringing the Pretenders with her.
They’ll launch the tour on Oct. 25 in Phoenix and play more than two dozen shows through Dec. 18, when they’ll wrap up in Los Angeles. In between, the tour will hit cities like Denver, Boston, Detroit and Toronto. You can see the list of dates below.
This will be Nicks’ first round of solo concerts since Fleetwood Mac came off the road last November. The shows are tied to her latest record, 2014’s 24 Karat Gold – Songs From the Vault, a collection of newly recorded but previously unreleased solo songs that date back to 1969.
Nicks told The New York Times, “I just woke up one morning and said, I have two years off before Fleetwood Mac comes knocking on my door. Why would I want to sit around and do nothing?”
Even though the Pretenders haven’t issued an album since 2008’s Break Up the Concrete, leader Chrissie Hynde released her first solo record, Stockholm, in 2014. She published her autobiography, Reckless: My Life as a Pretender, in 2015.
For her part, Nicks seems excited to play a new batch of solo shows, her first since 2011-12 in support of 2011’s In Your Dreams.
“Fleetwood Mac is a team,” she said in The New York Times interview. “When you’re on a team everybody has the same vote — except in this particular team Lindsey [Buckingham] has a little bit of a stronger vote than anybody else. I love being part of a team. We argue all the time, but we always have. In my band, there is no arguing. I am the boss. My solo career is probably the reason Fleetwood Mac is still together in 2016, because I was always happy to leave Fleetwood Mac, and I was always happy to come back too.”

Chrissie Hynde is celebrating her 65th birthday today, and she’s got a gift for fans. She’s announced the first Pretenders album since 2008’s Break Up the Concrete. Alone will be released on Oct. 21.
The album, the band’s 10th, was recorded with the Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach at his Nashville studio. In a press release announcing the album, Hynde says the record was made by “real people playing real instruments.”
The news was also announced on the Pretenders’ Facebook page, which also includes pre-order information.
The new record, which was hinted at last year, marks the first activity by the Pretenders in almost a decade. But Hynde has stayed busy during the period, releasing her first solo record, Stockholm, in 2014, and publishing an autobiography, Reckless: My Life as a Pretender, last year. She also collaborated with singer-songwriter JP Jones as JP, Chrissie & the Fairground Boys on 2010’s Fidelity album.
Earlier this week, the Pretenders also announced a new tour with Stevie Nicks, which will kick off in Phoenix four days after the album’s release. You can see the list of tour dates below.
The album was originally supposed to be the follow-up to Stockholm, but as the sessions progressed, it turned into a new Pretenders record. Alone is preceded by the album’s first single, “Holy Commotion,” a playfully poppy track that recalls the Black Keys at their most radio friendly. Auerbach, who hails from the same hometown of Akron, Ohio, as Hynde, helped spur her into action.
“We were in the studio hanging out,” she says. “And the guys were talking about their families and their wives and I said, ‘Well, I do everything alone. I go to the cinema alone. I go to restaurants alone. I live alone. I pretty much do everything on my own. I don’t mind.’ Dan says, ‘Write a song about it.’ “The more I thought about it, I thought, I’ve heard 1,000 songs in my life, they’re all about, I am so tired of being alone. I can’t live without you. Since you’ve left my world has fallen apart. When am I going to see you again? Marry me and be with me for the rest of my life. I have never heard anyone celebrate being alone in a song. I couldn’t think of one.”

Yeah, I agree her last one Stockholm was pretty good.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

I'd LOVE to see The Pretenders again. Never cared for Stevie Nicks solo, and never was a Fleetwood Mac fan other than the early blues band.

other than the early blues band.
Amen!
This is a great version of "Coming Your Way", from the Boston Tea Party release.
Awesome jamming and harmony interplay. Would like to hear Warren and another guitarist tear this one up.
Coming your way
This is a great version of Twist and Shout they do.

Totally agree. I saw Stevie 3 or 4 years ago. She was doing her whole vampire thing, twirling around in a black dress. It was more about her theatrics than it was the music.
Shawn Colvin opened. She was great!
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I'll be at the DC one, got a friend pulling me backstage passes. Not a huge Stevie fan, but hey, backstage is backstage. I like talking to techs and crew the most.
