Are there any plans to release a CD or DVD from the TTB Beacon run?.. would be nice for us fans outside of the US. Cool

I seem to recall an interview with Derek where he said the plan was to go studio album, live album, studio album, live DVD. I don't remember where I read that, though, but it makes me think the Beacon shows will be a DVD release.

This band DEFINITELY needs to release a double disc live album. As much as I love the Beacon and the idea of them releasing a show from there, I would prefer that they choose the best tracks from a tour. Maybe those are from the Beacon but maybe not. My point is I think TTB is fantastic and I don't think they should short change themselves just for the sake of putting "Beacon Theatre" in the title.

I think someone reported that there were film permits posted for one or two of the shows, so that might happen. And I think I remember Derek saying they'll start writing songs for another album early next year. They seem very committed to creating new songs, which I'm very happy about.

They already did. Their first live album was about an hour and 40 minutes, plus a bonus track that was maybe 10 more minutes. Of course if they want to make another one, I'm in. But I agree that it's probably better to put together a set from multiple shows unless one show is a big event by itself.

Hopefully a new live album, Everyone's Talking was fantastic, and the two Beacon shows I saw were off the charts. A dvd release seems like such a waste. Does anyone buy dvds anymore? Who has the time to sit around and watch a concert at home?

I'm much more inclined to watch a live show streaming over the internet than a DVD. I'll occasionally buy a blu-ray concert but, because I own it, the urgency to watch isn't there. Add to that the known setlist, no surprise factor, and it becomes even tougher to carve out the time to watch a concert film.
