TTB Beacon run starts tonight!

Are you going?
What are you expecting/ hoping for?
I am thrilled to hear this band again and will be delighted for just about any song.

GLAD TO HEAR THAT KOFI WILL BACK ON STAGE............................

GLAD TO HEAR THAT KOFI WILL BACK ON STAGE............................

TTB on at 9:15.

Thank you sooooo much. Sounds great. Getting chills with Kofi back. Will be live tomorrow, Wednesday and "we will see" ......can't wait. Have no idea how you guys find these links, but thank you !!!!

Went to the show last night and got the sense the band was stretching their chops. Just thought there was something off last night with a lot of noodling. John Modeski was the guest last night and I find his playing to be a bit self indulgent. Soloing for the sake of it without contributing to the band. No doubt the shows will get better the next couple of nights but this was the worst I have seen the band and I am going on a dozen shows.

^
jamming is probably the worst thing TTB does...and trust me, I have no problem with jamming.
ok the big Idle Wind outros with erek & the drummers are pretty cool
totally agree on john medeski too
any comments on the new songs?

I have been to dozens and dozens of TTB and last night was my least favorite.
I think the rest of the run will be better.
Who will Wednesday ‘s special guests be?

I went last night, the second night of the run. I thought they were GREAT.....my only complaint was I wished they play LONGER. Started 8:15 pm. First set 65 minutes. 40 min break !! and then back for 90 min.
Susan seemed to play a larger role (if that is possible) than what I have seen from them in the past. More vocals, more guitar leads, which I'm fine with. Make no mistake, Derek is the conductor of this Orchestra, but he actually was not on stage for two of the songs, which was a first for me. He is still a marvel to see however and he did not disappoint last night.
Was great to see Kofi back. He and Susan alone did "A Song for You" after which they had a long embrace and is was visible that that Susan was overcome with emotion, which was really touching.
Can't wait til Wednesday.

looks like a great set list,
Please Call Home must have been a nice treat
It's not unusual for Derek to sit out of Angel and Song for You
can't wait for the Orpheum run in December

Caught an audio live stream of second set last night, didn't blow me away but still was a powerhouse performance by a really tight cohesive band. They just getting Kofi back for an extended run, like someone mentioned above im sure the next few shows they'll really start clicking and be able to open things up. Found this vid from opening night--a screaming performance from DT on Anyday, which has become my favorite cover of TTB. This version of Derek's Blue Sky inspired solo at the end is just insane, heard some new stuff in there from him. Enough ramblin, hope you enjoy the Sunday folks.

Went last night (Saturday) and it wasnt my favorite show from them but still solid. Band definitely seemed subdued at first and took a few songs to kick in, and that happened with The Sky is Crying. Volunteered Slavery ended on such a fever pitch and closed out the first set strongly. Set two was definitely stronger (three of my favorite TTB/DTB songs- Don't Drift Away, Get What You Deserve, Don't Know What It Means) and that Gregg tribute.
Going again for the special 25th show on Wednesday with my dad and by myself again Friday.

Duane & Eric are my 2 favorite guitar players but I think Derek kills Anyday. The DTB live version is the best ever and I far prefer to the Layla album. Not even close.
Plus, it's a great song to have on a workout playlist as it makes the pain go away.

Derek always kills D&D songs. Keep on Growing from Sunday was great
I saw an amazing version of Anyday when Oteil was still in TTB in Hampton NH - they teased Mountain Jam and Blue Sky. When it was over, Susan said something like you can take the boys out of the Allman Brothers but you can't take the Allman Brothers out of the boys (6/16/11).
This may be sacrilege, but imo Key to the Highway with Derek and Jack 9/17/09 is better than the album version with Duane and Eric.

Night #4. 25th Beacon show for TTB. Advertised as something special. Any ideas? North Miss. All stars to be a part of it all. Who's going? Buy you a beer?

I am going and am excited as I like NM All Stars.
My wish list for guests maybe too high but I am certain it is going to be a terrific show.
I will be wearing my green camouflage Dickey shirt and I stand near the left entrance ( not the merchandise side)during set break. I am always happy to meet a new ABB friend to talk music with.

Hi,
Was at the 10/10 show.
Anyone have the complete set list....? Please.
Thanks.
Good show....fav was "I must Have Done Somebody Wrong"....
Marcus King and Jimmy Vivino and The Wood Brothers....all fun stuff.

North Miss Allstars set was high energy and spectacular.
Great to hear Ain’t Wasting Time No More and Whipping Post at the Beacon again !
First time I have heardNora Jones live - she and Susan sounded great together.
Really nice show tonight.

I thought 10/11 25th Beacon show was OUTSTANDING. Agree on AWTNM and Whipping Post ........both amazing. I'm sure Jaimoe was feeling right at home. Was blown away in the 35 minute encore. Twelve minute Statesboro, followed by Will The Circle be Unbroken and then Bound for Glory .......epic.

setlist.fm has it all

The 25th show was out of this world. Like I had said, something was off on Saturday night but it was clear from the opening note last night that they were not gonna hold back. Doyle Bramhall's appearance was stupendous. I wasnt aware of that song Lovin You by Johnny "Guitar" Watson but I loved it. Nels Cline paired perfectly with Derek. Norah was a nice surprise.
Did not even know Jaimoe was there until Susan pointed him out. He was stuck so far in the back behind the other 2 drummers, you couldnt even see him from my spot on the floor.

Still smiling ear to ear this morning ........setlist from 25TH Beacon show. Can't wait to hear the audio again.

I'm curious. Where can you get the audio for the shows? I assumed there was some sort of bootlegging process for TTB. My dad and I were just talking at the show last night about when we think, if ever, TTB will go the route of ABB and offer each show for sale each night.

most TTB shows wind up here

you can sort by date, etc.
last night's isn't there yet but the other Beacon shows are
