TTB and others in xmasjam lineup announcement

Featuring Warren Haynes, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Doobie Brothers, Joe Bonamassa, Dawes, Blackberry Smoke, Electric Hot Tuna, Bruce Hornsby and more!

That's a pretty killer lineup!

I've never been to Christmas Jam. Is the 100 level reserved seating? GA on floor? Any info would be appreciated.

I love Xmas Jam! I just wish there were two nights in the Civic Center every year.
I don't remember any Reserved seating.

And I thought two weeks ago was the last time I would see TTB this year. Just booked my room. I'll be a rookie but cant wait. Festival line up.

A great lineup and an interesting lineup. And what really caught my eye was the inclusion of Dawes on the bill. Naturally, we expect Warren and Derek to get together at some point and wouldn’t it be something if Dickey showed up to play with the two guys he mentored in the ABB?
I remember last year Warren saying he’d love to get Dickey to show up to one of these benefits, and Dickey’s son Duane is playing with Dawes. That would obviously be another reason for Dickey to show up – there’s all sorts of karma going on here.
Yeah, yeah, I know it probably won’t happen and maybe Dickey hasn’t picked up a guitar in forever and is retired and all of that. But it’s fun to dream about…
Either way, the folks in Ashville are in for a great show…

There is a small VIP section, but other than that everything is general admission.

Is there a seated area??? If so is it first come first served or are they reserved? Love the lineup but the only way I would even consider is if I knew I could get a seat.

The entire upper level is seated, although nearly all of it is general admission as pointed out by WarEagleRK. There is a small VIP section roped off on the upper level closest to stage, I think for artist guests and also the VIP expensive ticketholders.
The lower level is all SRO. Pictures for reference.
Sorry, first link won't post b/c facebook. Try this to get an idea of concert setup:
Below is basketball set up. The lower-level bleachers are pushed back and all SRO. But you can see the upper level seats.

Seated area is also general admission. There are no floor or seated tickets, the whole thing is just GA once you come in except for the VIP area.
It's a long night and people get up and move around all the time. It's usually not hard to find a seat.

People stand up in front of the railing so make sure you get a seat several rows up or you won't be able to see the stage. You'll need to get in line outside about 4:00 to get a good seat as people rope off groups of seats for their friends. Security does prevent people from standing at the rail in front of the VIP area.

That is a very strong line-up. But even though I live less than 30 minutes from the venue I will not be going. I used to go but Xmas Jam has become the most irritating music event of the year. The venue is not very good and they oversell it's capacity by at least 30%. So you are left with the choice of standing in line for hours to try to get a decent spot, or being stuck standing all night off in a corner wedge between a horde of folks stuffed onto the floor like sardines in a can. No thanks.
I know, it's blasphemy to say anything negative about Xmas Jam. I do admire what Warren is doing for Habitat and I enjoy the Jam-By-Day events that are held at various clubs around town earlier in the day. But I'll leave the mayhem of the main event to others.
Here's a photo that gives a good idea of the layout of the venue:

I went to Christmas Jam in 2000, the final year in the Thomas Wolfe Theatre. You could hear a pin drop during key quiet parts when Warren was paying tribute in song to Woody. Matt/Warren & Friends did a mule type set of mostly covers and it was great. Some sets just morphed into others....Warren/Kevn Kinney/Edwin McCain became Gregg & Warren which became a semi-surprise Warren/Gregg/Jimmy/Oteil, Butch/Jaimoe ABB set. It ended at about 1am.
2000 was one of the best nights of music I've ever been a part of.
A year later it moved to the Coliseum it became a big late, late night beer drinking fest with extended set breaks between bands....and I left at 2:45am in the morning.
I would go again, but I think I'd probably opt for the pre-Jam that is open to contributors of WNCW contributors. Granted it's a pricey donation but goes to a good cause and that night is more like the original jam I attended.
I'm also not taking anything away from Warren or the great cause his Christmas Jam has supported. Strong lineup this year with good ABB lineage....Warren, Derek and the TTB guys, Duane Betts etc.
