The Who Postpone Three Shows So Roger Daltrey Can Rest His Voice
By Nick DeRiso May 4, 2015 8:21 PM

Vocal problems for Roger Daltrey have forced the Who to put off a trio of scheduled shows, beginning on Tuesday. The postponements include a May 5 stop at Kansas City’s Sprint Center, then dates at St. Louis’ Scottrade Center on Thursday (May 7) and finally in Louisville on Saturday (May 9) at the KFC Yum! Center.
Daltrey is following a medical recommendation to rest his voice, the Who said in a Monday night release. “It is with great regret that the Who are postponing the next three shows of their ‘The Who Hits 50!’ North American tour based on doctors’ advice that lead singer Roger Daltrey remain on vocal rest, due to swollen vocal cords, for the remainder of this week.”
Daltrey has already admitted to other physical issues, as the Who continue a grueling schedule into their 70s. Both Daltrey and Pete Townshend have spoken frankly about this as their last globe-trotting trip, and they sound somewhat relieved to slow down a bit. “We don’t know how long it will go on for — it could be another 18 months — but that will be it,” Daltrey said last month. “I’ve got to the point where I’m having physical problems with my body now, joints going and all that.”
The Who’s rep said their tour should resume on May 11 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Replacement dates for these May 5-9 concerts will follow, they said, and tickets for the original appearances will be honored on the new dates.

Ticketmaster is not providing the "pick your own seats" option for the Washington DC Who show. I almost pulled the trigger on two secondary market tickets yesterday, seeing as they are near the same cost as Ticketmaster offerings and are far better seats than are being spit out by Tickebastid.

Now I'm not so sure I should buy until closer to the November show date.

The way Roger was going for it on those big notes at the Atlanta show, I'm not surprised.

If the big scream at the end of Won't Get Fooled Again in Atlanta was the last note the man ever sang, he would have gone out with his boots on.

AXS TV has the New Orleans Jazz Fest on this week, and they have a good chunk of The Who from their JazzFest set as part of that day's compilation. It wasn't just a lucky night in Atlanta apparently, because they were just as awesome in New Orleans, from what I saw.
