The Weight cover with some epic slide guitar

I think you guys will dig our cover of the Aretha & Duane version of The Weight a lot. I'm playing the slide guitar as some members have probably seen or heard my stuff before, and my friends from Nashville, Adam Wakefield (he came in 2nd on The Voice in May and hit #1 on iTunes in April with a cover of Soulshine) and Caitlin Koch share vocal duties. Some real phat ARP synth bass bass and funky drums. Recorded all to tape like we were in 1972. Let me know how you like it...its up on iTunes and all those other stores as well......

I've always enjoyed the stuff you've shared here over the years, but this takes the cake! I thought it was outstanding. Thanks for sharing!

Girl can sing! Dang. Nice, solid cover - just enough air in the conversation. Solid slide playing, too. Keep it up.

that was wonderful- thanks for sharing!!

Thanks guys I figured ABB fans would dig this, we're all huge Allman Brothers and old school R&B fans. We do stuff like this at the exclusive jam at Soulshine Pizza Factory in Nashville on Sundays sometimes.

Thanks a lot Brendan! I think this is also one of the best things I've been involved in, I'm hoping this configuration will do more!

real nice funky urban version of a song that's been done so many times by nearly everyone.
kept the soul and found something new to say
it rocks!! nice work y'all!

Nice all around.
Rich voice with many different textures.

Nice cut! Great vocals and great playing. Your slide playing on this tune sounds like a cross between Duane and Tommy Bolin with that echoplex.

Thanks a lot man! That's exactly what I'm trying to go for- a sort of combo of Duane and Tommy.
Thanks again everyone
