There’s been some discussion about Stephen Stills Manassas recently, but has there already been discussion about Stills current band, The Rides? Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepard, and Barry Goldman are The Rides, but I understand the drummer is SRV’s drummer. They’ve already got two albums and I love both of them although Stills vocals are a little suspect at times. It’s pretty much a straight up blues band like the Dominos and although Stills has played a lot of blues over his career, it seems to me that this is the first thing I’ve heard by him which is really focused on the blues.

I saw The Rides perform at The Iridium when they toured supporting their first album.

I have been on a big Stills solo kick for quite awhile digging through his 70's material. Great stuff!!!
I tried The Rides and could not get into them. Maybe I will try again.
