He's probably got a little more Sturgill in him than Isbell....in fact, I think Sturgill may have produced his record, but yeah Childers is great. Made a bit of a scene here in Nashville over the weekend for Americana Fest. He also showed up dressed in a Col. Sanders suit which I, personally, found hilarious.

I really like his 2017 album Purgatory. Want to see him but this tour is selling out fast

Really good... I love it when the singers voice is right on the edge of breaking...

I think Isbell is a different animal than Childers. However, each is holding an important spot in the current state of music.

Do we need another artist (sic) so terminally-correct in his politics AND music??!!??.I say no, until and unless Jay Farrar gets the recognition he's due!

In the vein of “real” country. I heard this guy Kevin Galloway on WNCW’s weekly Americans show tonight and really liked the song.

Spun his album “The Change” tonight and really like it.

Smoother than the recent guys who we all like, more like 80’s George Strait at times, though his voice is kinda Sturg’y. A nice listen though.

If you want to give him a try, I’d start with the song “Miles and Miles” it’s more funky and damn catchy.

I feel like we are having a country renaissance with Stapleton, Sturg, Lukas Nelson, and others. A nice trend in this area of music.

And, WNCW, what a station.

I’ve now gone down a rabbit hole. Galloway was with a band called Uncle Lucius. I’m listening to their stuff now. Also great music, more rocking than his solo record.

Finding great new music is such a fabulous feeling.

Bumping this up because, I’ll be damned, I haven’t been able to stop listening to Kevin Galloway’s album all week.

And I want at least one person on this site to enjoy his awesomeness (and no, I have no prior knowledge of this guy before I heard him on the radio last week. But DAMN.)

Thanks. I just downloaded it.

I like it so far.

His music reminds me just a bit if Earl Thomas Conley who I loved back in the day.

I should have read you post closer. Sorry!!!!

I knew that I was familiar with his voice. As you note above he fronted Uncle Lucius.

I've done a few shows with Uncle Lucius....unfortunately they're now a defunct band, but they're great dudes. I'm sure Galloway's solo output will ramp up due to it......so there's that at least.

Yes on Tyler....from my old part of the world. Like my multiple interview with Chris Stapleton, including right before he blew up, I interviewed Tyler a while ago as well. Kentucky-West Virginia representin'!

But also - keep your eye on Tyler Childers' wife Senora May, who is also an excellent singer and songwriter. Here is my interview with Senora from last week;
